May 23, 2009 (5/23/09) E. Caribbean w/Tortola

The cake is marble with chocolate mousse filling! I'm sure I'll allow a bachelor party as long as we can have a bachlorette party too. The ceremony is Thursday on deck 7 Aft. I have no idea what time it will be yet.princess: pirate:

Last June, I had the room right next door...I would have had a front row seat! This time, I have the room one door over....which I'll prefer. I won't have people on the public deck aft 7 peeking over at us all the time.

Yeah you girls probably will have alot more fun, kinda hard to hire enterainment out at sea, maybe I'll sneak down to the crew quarters see
if anyone is up for fun.:lmao: :lmao: That's my favorite flavor wedding cake, and we can all try out our formal duds, we are paying to have them there anyways might as well get some usage out of them.

The Man

Saw a really sad sight today, I was working a Spring Training game today for the Boy Scouts and saw a little girl get hit by a foul ball behind the stadium, she fell down and a man ran up only to take the ball and ran off. WHAT A JERK!!!!

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

What goes around comes around. I'm a firm believer in Karma:hippie: We can only hope that she gets somthing really special and he gets.... what he deserves

Sad - people always amaze me:confused3

In the liquor store. And if Disney does liquor tastings... try some there.

I was sort of thinking more specifically. Like Bashas' or Frys. ;)
Bashas' actually has a pretty good selection. They have Jay's favorite Honey Liqueur.

On the ship they told us you could only buy it on the ship, but my sister janet researched it (it's that good) & Southern (wine & spirits distributer) carries it. Have to find out where they distribute it to. I think we only paid like $15 on the ship for it. Lord knows what it would cost in a store. I might just have to look into it further.

I think you can order it online for around $22. Haven't looked in a while :)
Some airlines serve it too.

Good morning!:)

I bought my plane tickets last night!! Unfortunately I also had to take dh off our reservation yesterday. It was the last day to remove him without penalty and unfortunately it doesn't look like the military is going to let him get away for this.:sad1:

I'm still looking for a cheap rental car after we disembark. I've got a great rate going, but coming back is another story. Spent a long time last night plugging in codes from Mousesavers.:)

Hey, how is everyone doing? Been keeping busy here. I need to get back into this cruise...don't know why...but I just haven't been thinking about it too much. We did get some shirts in for the cruise, but haven't done too much else.

I really can't believe how quickly our cruise is coming up!! I need to work more on FE gifts!!!

Oh, and mini airplane bottles work for us. We are NOT big drinkers, but we will have a few on the ship.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom - she'll be in my thoughts.

Golly goodness sakes Heather!!! You've been through the wringer!!
Prayers for your mom, and good wishes for a knee that heals up quickly. Just don't try to ignore it if the pain doesn't go away...see a doc right away.

They have a couple of different formal backgrounds and they add another photographer at the bottom of the stairs that come down from Shutters near the internet cafe or whatever they call it. They will have a lot of characters out there in formalwear also.

Heather, sorry to hear that you're having such a rough time. Your mom will be in our prayers. Make sure you take care of that knee!

We're not doing formal night. We chose that as our Palo night. We did that on the last cruise too. It just works for us. I don't have any formal wear & DH isn't crazy about wearing a suit twice. Besides, Emily is now in the anti-dress stage. I'm not spending $ on a dress she'll never wear.
Ang

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers for mom!! She has many dr's appointments coming up, but she is going to Orlando to visit with relatives for two weeks on 3/17. I'll concentrate on cruise stuff then!!! And my knee is ALL better!!!! Woo Hoo!!!!:cool1:

Heather, The photo ops, are well worth getting dressed up for, we have used these pictures for various christmas cards and family letters. The pictures are very professional so give it alot of thought before you dismiss it.
Peter, I was laid off last week after 17 year at the same Cancer Center. I paid off the cruise with our xmas bonuses and now it is the only good thing happening our lives. I feel for you and your family, this is definately the hardest thing to go through besides losing a love one, my prayers are with you.

John

Sorry to hear about your work! I'm glad you have the cruise paid off and it is something good to look forward too!

We are still debating the Formal Dinner. If I can find something nice and cheap to wear we could do it. Just need to get a dinner jacket for DS. We really want the formal backgrounds adn the character pictures (since we DO want to do the Christmas Cards w/pictures from formal night). We were just going to do dinner on our own, and then just wear what we have for semi formal night for the pictures. We shall see...

Sorry it looks as if the coffeeguy48 can't make it. the funds just can't see spending money like this now maybe next year. :wave2:
:crowded:

Sorry to hear you won't be able to join us either. Hope you get to cruise soon!!

We will be on this cruise...new to cruising and excited and nervous...don't know what to expect! We will be traveling with 2 boys ages 12 & 15. Anyone else have boys close in age that will be on this cruise?

My ds will be 13, almost 14 on the cruise. He likes video games and sports...and he is looking for some friends on the cruise. I think they'll have a great time!!

So sorry to hear this. I can't even imagine how disappointing that is for you. :sad1:

Not "doing" much of anything here either, Heather. Mostly just work and that kind of boring stuff.
Once Sharon and I return from our trip to Disneyland, I'll really be able to get all excited about the cruise. Even if I allow myself time to think about it, I get all lost. I CAN'T WAIT to sink my toes into some sand and lounge on a beach!!!:cutie:

Heather- Do what we did for formal wear. My nephew needed a dinner jacket for one of the cruises, so we got one at a thrift shop. There are places in Phoenix (I don't know if it is a local chain or more nationwide called Savers) Anyway, got it on their Monday 99 cents days. Perfectly good jacket for cheap. And I have found some very name brand formal wear there also. I, for one, am just tickled when I can find something for a good deal. And if I am shopping online or in retail stores, I only shop in their clearance racks. Coldwater Creek has a 25% off code now (I only buy from outlet there & have some great deals.) You can go online, find what you want & then go to one of their stores & use their computer to order & it is free shipping to their store. The code right now is WKP1442. Or if you have Dress Barns nearby, they always have good deals in their clearance racks. Like I said, I am proud of myself when I find a great bargain. I never pay full price for anything.[:dance3: /SIZE]

Sorry to hear your husband won't be joining us, but glad the rest of you are still coming.

I had the same problem with the rental car. We're paying $45 going from Orlando, but $60 going back from the port. Still cheaper than Disney or a limo for the three of us. We used Budget with the USAA codes.

Thanks Bill!:) We have four cabins of family so we are definitely coming. Luckily we have enough retired military in our cabins to still cover the military discount for all the cabins.

Those are the exact rates I've found for car rentals. I didn't try USAA yet. I'm going to search every so often, so if I find something cheaper, I'll definitely post.
