May 23, 2009 (5/23/09) E. Caribbean w/Tortola

Just got back from wedding of a guy I have worked with for 10 years. He & I are the 2 Captains of the catering crew. He was such a 'kid' for so long, but has emerged as a good friend and a hard worker. His wife is a great girl (works where I work but as a personal trainer in the spa.) Also got to talk to his mom who also lost her husband from cancer of the brain. I introduced myself to her & she gave me a long hug & told me Dean had told her all about me. She is a sweetheart, but knowing her son, I wouldn't have thought otherwise.

Now 5 days of work, and I am somewhat organized. Just need to get it all ready to pack, somehow, inbetween working.

Floated in the pool for 2 hours today. Starting to tan a bit. I figure Monday or/& Wednesday I can do it again.

Stacey- how is the knee? Was the shot any better/worse than the last 3 times? Sure hope this one was better than the rest!
Glad you survived the picnic. It was hot today. Had sweat running down my back during the wedding ceremony, but it cooled of nicely after the sun went down.

I came home after the picnic, just drained. I fell asleep on the couch with the A/C blowing on me and woke up refreshed. So then I couldn't sleep and started some of the packing.

Sharon, my shot was much better going in....I tried that technique of taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly as he did the injection and I think it helped. But afterward was a bear. It really ached all night. I couldn't get comfortable in bed, even after taking a pill. But today it almost seems like the shots are finally working...hardly any creaking. So I should feel good on Friday when we fly. I get my shot earlier on Thursday than I usually do on Fridays, so if I'm all packed I can just rest it.

I'm glad you had a nice time at the wedding. I bet it felt good to sit for a while and enjoy some happiness.

I still can't get my head around the idea that one week from today at this very time, we will be on the MAGIC!!! It just doesn't seem real.
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I can't believe it either.

Just checking in from the beach, got a little too much sun yesterday, think the sunscreen is old. Hope it's tan by Friday!!

Today is Mom's 88th. Taking them to church and then back here to feed the mob. There are bodies everywhere, evn have two kids asleep on the balcony!!

Have a great day all.

And i'm just checking in from my hotel in Atlanta. Got here last night and am struggling this morning with the time difference.

Have a meeting in under an hour and i look and feel like, well you know,...

Need a good night sleep, and probably a nap this afternoon between meetings. LOL

Glad you made it. I've worked in Epsom, UK on occasion. Only 8 day bursts, though. By the time I'm acclimated, I'm on my way home. You have plenty of time to adjust by the time the sail date. Going home is going to be hard! When do you hit WDW?

Glad everyone is having a good weekend. I was so drained, that I slept ALL Afternoon Saturday. Took mom to dialysis early...the AC was off and it was SO HOT there. 2nd saturday in a row now. Came home, ate lunch, and fell asleep. Woke up at 6pm...guess I needed that sleep!! LOL

Brandon had a GREAT first game. They didn't win...but he did get to play in the last quarter for 2 plays. He was so happy!!! I ended up going by myself, which was a bummer. DH had to work, mom was feeling sick, my sis had a headache and her DH didn't come. But Brandon was happy to see his mom in the stands cheering him on!

Did our last grocery shopping today. Got stuff to cook for mom and freeze for her. Getting ready to do DS laundry (yes, he is actually cleaning his room right now...had to bribe him with an itunes card..haha...whatever works, ya know!) Then going to pack his stuff!!

Then it will just be packing our dess up clothes and last minute stuff!!!

I don't mind going home too much, mostly *** i always plan to land on a Sunday morning. That way i get to work through the jetlag while at work ;) Better on their time than on my weekend. What i find hardest is if i don't keep busy, whihc means on vacation i'm fine *** i'm usually rushing around to Disney, or to New york for shows or something. Whereas today has been a struggle as i'm having gaps of a couple of hrs between meetings.

Then again i had long enough to go to the world of cocacola this morning.

Slightly concerned about the cocktail party i'm going to tonight - it's at the botanical gardens, and it is seriously raining. Guess who didn't bring an umbrella?

DH arrives on Wednesday evening and we are on a lunchtime flight to MCO on Thursday. Will hit DHS on Thurs pm and then MK on Friday. Ready for sailing on Saturday.

Wow its really this week.

I only have 12 more meetings and 8 cocktail parties to get through :eek:

I'm so glad you made it stateside! But wow, what a schedule you have this week!!!:eek:

Took DS to buy new socks and boxers for his trip. I refuse to send him off with strangers without nice new skivvies. :laughing:
Picked up some groceries and things to last the week and after that, the boys are on their own!

Okay, got up pretty early and started to organize my clothes. Then packed them!! Yeah. One more thing done. They will probably be seriously wrinkled, so I will add that wrinkle spray stuff to the list. I already shopped for all the little things I need. Of course,that day I forgot my list & forgot to get half the stuff on it. So back I go.
Got snorkel sets out of the box they came in and put them in the nice carrying bags Stacey gave to Kaylah and I.
Now only to get the kid moving. I honestly did 12 loads of laundry for her. I don't think she's done a load in months. I took her shopping a few days ago & she keeps wearing all the new stuff. Imagine that wil all need to be washed, too.
I figure if we can get all the clothes in 1 bag each, the 3rd can be for all the other assorted stuff. Like snorkel sets, FE's, etc... That's my plan anyway. We'll see how well it works.
Soon it's time to get ready for work. No days off till we leave. And on Tuesday, after work, I go to my nephew's graduation. So doesn't leave me much time. Figured I'd better get cracking today.
Stace- am awfully glad you knee is starting to feel better. Your breathing technique reminds me of breathing when I gave birth.:lmao::lmao:

Wonder if Stacey will give us a demonstration of her breathing technique on the cruise;)

I shipped down some FE and a box of Cruise-Only things to AKV. I'm flying US Scare and didn't want to pay for another bag! I figured it saved me 20 bucks and a lot of hassle. We're 4 people but can't have the little one manage a bag. I can just imagine her flying through security on a run-away bag with wheels, laughing the entire time. The kid has no fear. We'll be gone 12 days total and plan at least one laundry day at sea but with the Vow Renewal stuff... I'm a big "packed".

We arrive 2 days 1 hour and some minutes! Wow!!!! I'll miss all of the last-minute stuff. Maybe my blackberry will get to the DIS board?!?!?

Jake and I are about 75% packed---Mark has to fend for himself!! I have 3 1/2 days of school left. Then a cruising we will be!! Looking forward to that 1st Banana Daquari!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:

YUMMY!! Might have to try one of those. :banana: (get it-banana) Must be tired, I feel real corney all of a sudden

I'M ALL PACKED!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I have two bags and was trying to divide them up so that they would be about the same weight...and they are EXACTLY 32 pounds each! That means I can buy stuff on the trip!!!!!!!
:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

:banana::banana:5 more days:cool1::cool1::cool1:

House is cleaned, all packed, just got to get thru lunchtime Thursday and then we'll be on our way to Cocoa Beach!:yay:

Sounds like everyone is already packed up & ready to go ... not us!!! The suitcases are out but nothing is in them yet. We had to get through the dance recital this weekend. That's all done, so now I can concentrate on VACATION!!!

Emily (DD-8) went from not wanting to spend a single minute in the kids club to not wanting to spend any time with the family. I printed out the navigators last night & she started looking at the activities. She wants to do EVERYTHING.
