May 21, 2012 - Mickey's Mooseketeers Take Alaska 2012!

Hi zenjennn!

Several people had to place orders for their items and needed the lead time to be able to create their gifts, so we had to close it earlier this month.

However, I know Mom (MsTxMom) and I do have some extra gifts, and there may be others who do, too. I can add you to the list with a note about your join date - that way if people do have extras they can share with you. But please understand that not everyone will have extras and won't be able to play the FE game with you.

If you are ok with that arrangement, please PM your information to me (including your e-mail address) and I will get you on the list!

Michelle

We can add another as well. Make sure you send Pixie a PM as well so you are added to the first post.

We're also happy to include another family in the FE. MSMetal also mentioned that this was their first cruise and we would be good with including them as well under the same arrangement, if they are interested. As new cruisers they may not have known anything about FE when they subscribed to the forum.

Aww.. I am so disappointed that the whole FE thing is closed. I just learned about it. This will be our first cruise and we'll have two girls with us, age 9 and 7.

Welcome to our group and to the FE. We were on our third cruise before we discovered the FE, and we booked on that one even later than you did this time--about 6 weeks out. Luckily for us the FE hadn't closed yet and we were able to participate. I know you will enjoy it!

Mary

Could I ask a favour please. Coming from the UK the lowest bill we'll have is an $10 note, could anyone swap $20 for some $1 bills?

I wouldn't mind doing this for you, but it might be easier and faster for you to just go to the service desk on the ship. They will give you change for your larger bills and/or exchange your UK money for American money if you want.

Our stateroom was assigned this morning! We got an upgrade from a 6A to a 4A! WooHoo!! :cool1:

We are the proud renters of stateroom 8042!

Wow! That is fantastic!! You'll have to tell me how to book that way. When I look, I never see the guarantee booking status available until after final payment is due. Where do you find it?

Mary

That's true in general, but it is especially true on the ships. The rotational dining works such that your servers move with you from restaurant to restaurant for the whole cruise and they somehow remember what everyone likes. On our last cruise we fell in love with a particular dessert and told our server how much we liked it. He made a special point of getting it for us without us even asking, several times during the cruise. One day we went to lunch in one of the restaurants instead of the buffet, and he was working there. As we were finishing up our lunch, he brought us the same dessert :-)

You will certainly not have a problem getting used to being treated like royalty :-)

Mary

I'm looking forward to the royalty!

You are correct! I do not know anything about this FE. I'm still trying to figure out if I goofed and booked Palo on Pirate night.... and IF there is a pirate night. I'm usually not a planner so this is overwhelming to me!

Check my daughter's (Satarma) posting about the rotation. Pirate night is on night 5, I believe, but if you look at her posting you will find the rotation. You can actually call Disney and request a particular rotation. I don't know for sure about our cruise, but I read that for last year's Alaska cruises they had a special menu in the restaurants called Taste of Alaska on Pirates' night instead of the traditional Pirate night menu. I'm pretty sure they will still have the on deck buffet for the Pirates' party, though. Check your PMs for FE info.

If it's offered, it will show when you go through the steps to select your stateroom. there won't be any room numbers available, just a message that the category is available, but only with the gty statues. When we upgraded to the verandah 2-3 weeks ago, they had it available so we grabbed it! At the time of our original booking, it wasn't an option (although we tried to talk the nice lady at the rebooking table to book us into a gty!) :rotfl2:

Outside your stateroom, there's a fish that hides a clip that DCL uses if they need to leave an envelope or paper message for you. Then, you can make or buy a FE that extend down from the fish and have pockets to put goodies and small gifts in. I've even seen a thread for a FE made out of duct tape! The FE list is a list of people on this cruise who are playing.

If you'd like to play, I can add you to the list. We had to officially close it on the 1st because some had orders to place and projects they needed to get completed for the game. But there are some who have extras and would be happy to play with you. Please understand that not everyone will have extras and won't be able to play the FE game with you.

OK. So I wasn't missing something when I booked! :-) I kept looking for a gty for an original booking and couldn't find it. So that's the key, I guess. Just book a category and then after they put the gty's up after final payment is due, call in and change from your original stateroom to gty status. That makes sense. Will definitely keep that in mind for future cruises! Congratulations on your good fortune, by the way :-) And thanks so much for the information!

Hello, We are traveling to Alaska for the Disney cruise and was wondering if anyone else was going to be there May 21-May28th and wanted to look into doing a private tour with our family. It's for tntours.com Check out their site and let me know... they have a min 8 person trip and we are a family of 4, two adults, 8 year old girl and 6 year old boy.

Checking to see if anyone signed up for salmon fishing in Ketchikan. I can't wait. Did it last time we cruised Alaska. Bob

Thanks for the offer and like you said i've since found out I can do that.

No once you've paid your final payment you cannot change your booking. If you do change it you would lose your deposit I believe. Sometimes though this does work out as still cheaper but you would lose all your Palo bookings etc as you would be cancelling your old booking and making a new one. That's how I understand it to be anyway.

Claire,
I think that's true if you change to the cheaper gty status that they put out, but I'm pretty sure you can upgrade, after you make the final payment, to the regular price categories and at that point everything is in gty status. I'm thinking this is what Michelle was talking about. I could certainly be still confused about this however :-)

Yup! That's right! They'll let you upgrade after the final payment at no penalty. you just have to be prepared to pay right away. We had originally booked an oceanview and upgraded to a gty verandah (6A) 2-3 weeks ago.
