May 21, 2012 - Mickey's Mooseketeers Take Alaska 2012!

According to the port calendar, the Wonder is scheduled for Grand Caymen during the winter months. Glad we booked this for 2012. Disappointed that they are already taking the ship from the West Coast. :(

Glad we booked too. I'm hoping they schedule another two night Cruise to Nowhere after the last MR cruise but before they had back to the panama canal.

We've got tickets on the train for Seattle to Vancouver the day before we sail. Anyone else joining us?

I know - I'm waiting anxiously for Southwest to release their airfares - hopefully we can swipe a good deal before the rest of the world realizes that's a holiday weekend and starts buying their flights! We're actually flying in/out of Seattle and taking the train - it's so much less expensive than flying into Vancouver for us!

We will be on this cruise as well!! Flying into Seattle might be a good option for us as well. Would you mind giving me more information on how to catch the train. I'm clueless? Thank you so much!

Are you taking the morning train or the evening one? We will be on the morning train! Actually spent some time this morning looking at what we plan to do with our afternoon and the following morning in Vancouver before we board the ship.

We are on the morning train on the 20th!

Tlynk - this is the train we'll be taking up :) Tickets do book, so they suggest getting them in advance.

We'll be there on the 20th, too! We're going to book once my aunt decides for sure whether or not she's going - which will be by the end of Jan (since our excursion booking date is 2/6).

We've found a dinner cruise for the evening before the we sail. I'll try to remember to hop on line tonight with the info (it's at home). Oh, I have to book that, too, once Eve decides if she's going... I better start a list!!

We will already be on the ship but have an overnight in Vancouver as the last port is Vancouver and the ship goes out the next day.

We have a couple ofr restaurants that we have seen on Triple D (Guy Fieri) that we want to try out - if anyone wants to meet up :).

Getting closer!

Sunday, we too are on the train from Seattle to Vancouver. We're on the evening departure. 7 AM seemed too early. Sleeping in on Sunday morning was a priority as we're not 100% sure how much sleep we're going to get Friday night.

We depart Amtrak Friday on Friday morning from Los Angeles on the Coast Starlight, arriving in Seattle Saturday night.

As new cruisers, our excursion booking date isn't till 3/7, so I'm worried that everything will be gone. With others having a month or more time ahead of us, are we gonna be out of luck with getting what we want?

It looks like a bunch of folks are coming from the middle/western parts of the country, so the time change won't be so hard. Coming from the east coast, there is no way we will be awake enough that first night (or night #0 since its the night before the cruise) for an evening activity. We are hoping to have enough awake-ness left after the train to handle a walk in Stanley Park and a visit to the aquarium. But with early dinner seating, early port times, I think this might actually be an advantage, since we won't have a problem waking up and starting our day plenty early once we get on the ship.

Usually there isn't a problem. And you can always check once onboard as poeple do cancel excursions.

Well, we made another step in planning last night. We finally landed on our SEA hotel - we're at the Doubletree by the airport. We got a fantastic rate by prepaying, just under $100 after taxes! WooHoo! :cool1:

Yup! On our last cruise, we couldn't book Palo on line for any meals prior to the cruise, but once on board, we were able to get both brunch and dinner - and at our choice of dates/times! :thumbsup2

Our daughters have started looking at excusions. They want to do a zipline trip. They are many to choose from. Any suggestions for past cruisers?

Just moved to the May 21st cruise! Can't wait! This will be our second Alaska cruise with Disney because last year was so fun we need to do it again!
