Is it still possible in May to avoid heavy crowds in Disneyland? We would probably do 4 days at DLR and 1 day at Universal during the weekdays. We usually go in Jan/Feb to avoid crowds but this is a graduation trip.

We often go the first or second week of May because crowds are light.
With the 60th and all the other stuff going on it isn't as light as it used to be but it's still better than most other times. Warning, during this time period you risk lots of closures for maint.
By the third and forth week it's just as bad as any other time.

I'm so happy to see a May '17 thread! We have never been to DL but have talked and semi-planned so many times... I'm he77 bent on a May 2017 trip to DL. I'm sad to hear the crowds are heavy by the end of May. DS5 will be graduating & there is no way to come earlier without knowing his exact graduation date ~ and our district is notorious for holding back dates like this until the last minute...
