May 2014 Discout Watch

I called and was told that French Quarter isn't getting the full 25%? I don't know why. My room price only went down $112 for 7 nights. Something seems very wrong with this, but I used the pricing on their website and it says the same thing. So strange...

I had posted somewhere on the boards a few days ago....but French quarter is only 5%. It's one of the exclusions, same as All Star Movies.
 
Yay!!! All done! AND I overslept! :eek:

I did not wait on hold for even 1 second....she surprised me when she answered! I was booked for 12 nights POR. I was able to book last night,at midnight, BC 30% off RO for our last 6 nights!! This morning she shortened our POR package by 6 nights and applied the discounts. I got pixie dusted!!!!!! 30% off POR!!!!! I know it is not a huge difference, but yay!!!

Thank you Disboards! I knew to get on the phone at 7am. Got what I was hoping for, and saved $1100! I only waited about 1 minute on hold. For the fall discount I waited 90 minutes! Weird.

Yes, thank you!! I read about this on here on Saturday, so I called first thing this morning and saved $927 on our 7 night stay at WL. Good luck to all of you!!

Gotcha! Yeah, I just played with some other resorts online.... need to see what DH wants to do.

Part of me wants to say screw it and upgrade our room to a deluxe. LOL

Part of me is annoyed that where we picked is only 5%-- especially after I read the exclusions and didn't see that. (I saw AOA- Little Mermaid and Grand Floridian exclusions.)

OF COURSE, the CM I spoke with had "no idea why her computer was doing that." Humph.

What a Disney Dilemma! LOL

Yay!!!!! Congrats!!!!! Isn't that the best?!?! I was pixie dusted with this same offer last week when I got 30% off at CSR instead of 25%. I know it's not that big of a deal, just 5%, but I'm still so excited over it!
 
Called at 7 a.m. this morning to apply discount to existing reservation, saved enough to be able to stay an extra day :donald::tigger:
Super excited....can't wait for MAY :disrocks:
 
GAGirlInVA, we must have had the same lady... Ha! It took 40 minutes, but then I finally got it straightened out.

I called back. Disney Rule #1: If you get a clueless CM call back.

This one knew exactly why I wanted to change resorts (You didn't like the 5% discount on your rate, ma'am? NOPE!)

Changed to CB. Which interestingly, was the resort we started with during this trip planning session.

Funny how that worked out!
 
Called right at 7AM this morning, the CM I had was also clueless, I had to explain to him that I am changing resorts and apply the new discount to our reservation. It was 5 minutes of annoyance but I didn't want to wait on hold again, all is well that ends well. Upgraded our previous reservation to WL and only spent $174 more! whoop! :thumbsup2
 
Is it just me or is the discount not showing any more for ANY of the value resorts? :(

I'm hoping it's just a glitch on my side - I work for a tour operator so booking in my own system, but it's not that we didn't get it right away cause I looked 10 minutes ago and it was there, and now it's not anymore. All I show the special offer on is like... the Yacht Club, Caribbean Beach, the Boardwalk and a few others

I'll be so upset with myself if I missed it

I was having the same problem last night when they first put up the discounts. Nothing was showing as available! I see you are also Canadian. I think it is the Canadian web site.

Go to the bottom left of the main page and under "International Versions" click "USA:English". This will change the web site to the US site. You can book from there. The prices on the "Canadian site" are also in USD so there is not really any difference.

Edited to add: You can also call in the 1-407 # on the res page. I called this morning to change our existing ressie and got through right away...no waits.

Thank you for the advice! I really do need to book through my own system directly though, can't do it with Disney directly. But if it's still available with Disney, it may just be a glitch on our side, which would be a big relief

We're going May 11th to 18th, and we're paying for four of our friends so the discount makes a pretty big difference to us :) Thanks for letting me know you still see it there though, I hope we're just having issues with our own system and it'll be settled soon!
 
This thread is wonderful! I called at 7:15 this morning, didn't wait at all and saved $406 on a 3 night stay at BWI. If I had not updgraded to CL, I would have saved $575.

I forgot about the May discounts until just now! I was planning a short trip in May and looks like there's limited availability at the Contemporary for most dates.

Gottu say I had much a similar experience.

After having issues with the online booking (it wouldn't allow me to book a package with tickets) I then called in, and after telling "Emily" (the automated thing) "where to go" by hitting 0000000 .... got a CM right away and she set me up perfectly.

We are now bringing my mom down to Disney !!! She will be staying at POR and I couldn't be happier ! Very excited !!! :cool1:
 
I'm getting nervous! My TA is taking care of applying the discount to our existing reservation, but I've been fooling around on the Web site. It doesn't look like our current reservation (CR, Garden Wing) is included in the discount! It seems like standard rooms in most resorts are excluded. I don't particularly want to change resorts (we picked CR for a reason!) but I'm thinking the cost savings of changing to WL would be worth it. DYING to hear back from our TA!
 
I got my discount this morning. Upgraded to garden view at POR from a standard room that I had booked. Saved $286. It looks like standard view rooms at POR at not included in the discount.

Just heard back from my TA. Neither the 2bed villa at BLT nor the CR GW rooms we have reserved could have the discount applied. So no ticket special either, they told her. That's a let down.
