May 2011 Code Watch

Codes we're released January 1st, 2010 that had discounts for May 2010, so I am expecting in about a month we should have some discounts for us May 2011 folks! popcorn::

Sure hope you're right, especially for pin-less folks like me!

Well, I never thought I'd be saying this but.....Poop, I got a code today in my email.

Background: We were starting to play our dream trip (and first trip for DD3 and DD5) for May 2012. I starting to get the urge for May 2011. Hubby has told me that he doesn't want to go because, as of January 15th, our credit cards will be paid off. Plus, we'd like our girls to be a little older. I know these are all valid points.

Today I get a PIN, but it's only for 10% off resorts; all value resorts, all moderate resorts, but apparently only AKL and Wilderness Lodge.

I don't think this is enough of a discount to convince DH. Will I get another PIN at another time if I don't take this one?

it's offical - we are booked :cool1: We're staying at the Poly TPV from May 17th til May 27th :banana: Now the ADR madness begins:scared1:

We just got a room only code today in our email it was good from May 1 to June 5th:banana:

I see that PIN's are going out for May, must not be on that list, we did get one for DL about three weeks ago but our trip is to WDW this time. I have had the maps sent to me, I have saved vacations on the website and I have called and inquired about a trip, anything else I can do at this point?

:worship: to the PIN gods!!!!!!!!!

I'm really hoping for a nice code sometime for my May trip. Right now I'm at POFQ for 12 nights with a AAA discount. But I'd really love a good AP discount.

I guess I'll just have to keep checking here to see what might come out. I've NEVER gotten a PIN so I've got to keep an eye out for the other discounts.

I called to see if I had a pin attached to my name. I hadn't gotten any through snail mail or email and I was starting to panic. I had a 35% pin code for deluxe, 25% for mods. If it wasn't for the pin code there would be no trip for us in May.

Well, I guess surfing the web mindlessly can end up in good fortune! I just happened to stumble upon Mouse Fan Travels website, and saw that they had super special group rates during the dates of Destination D (5/12-5/15) for a handful of hotels, including CR. My days just happen to fall mostly during that time, so I was able to get a quote for it. WOW. Now I've got the Contemporary for a reallllly amazing rate. We almost partook of a similar type lowlowloooow rate from Magical Vacations for the Poly, but DH just had his heart set on the CR. Glad we found one for there! :woohoo:

Is there a catch, some sort of stipulation involved, etc.?

None that really mattered to me. It's a group discount on room and tickets, so I was told that once the package is paid in full and the tickets are purchased they are non-refundable. My deadline for paying the package is about 45 days out, and the deposit to hold the reservation was equal to one night's stay. I have no problem with any of that even if I have to cancel after I've PIF, I can still use the tickets eventually since they don't start to expire until you use it, and I get travel insurance for the rest of it.

Oh yeah, and you can't add dining. But I don't care for the dining plan anyway, so it's perfect for me.

I admit I might have been leery for anyone else, but MouseFan/MEI are very reputable and well-known. Though, honestly, it will be my first time using them so I'm not speaking from direct experience...just research. I believe they sponsor AllEars and the UG podcast. I found similar positive info about the deals offered by Magical Vacations. All on the up and up. FYI: both told me they would switch me to any Disney discounts if some came out that were cheaper, as long as I was before the final payment deadline. Just be aware that the number is limited, so it's first come, first serve.

Well this has been on my mind for some time, but I have been hesitant to post it here (on the Disboards). I almost feel like I'm cheating on an old friend by saying this, but unless I get a discount that covers May, I will likely be staying off-site. Wow, I feel much better now that I got that off my chest. Anyone else feel the same way?

I'm seriously thinking about it. This trip qill be a 2 week visit and I'm driving my own car. Since I have an AP I won't have to pay for parking. Off-site is looking better and better.

I don't have an AP, so I need to factor car rental, gas, parking... into my calculation. When I add all this up, I probably will only save a small amount by staying off-site, but I am considering Wyndham Bonnet Creek, so I will be gaining alot of SPACE.

P.S. I am also staying in Orlando for 2 weeks

We are considering it also. We are driving down, so we will have our own car. I really would like a discount.

This is our first trip so I want to stay on-site.

Fingers crossed!!

Terri

We are going at the same time!! One day off from your trip.

Awesome. We are currently booked at POFQ and I was really looking forward to staying there, but in order to stay in Orlando for 2 weeks, I really need a good discount to stay onsite. We stayed onsite for our last trip and loved it, so it is really a difficult decision. Have a great trip!

Funny, we are booked at POFQ and if we don't get free dining (or some other great discount) we will be staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek.
