May 2010 Trips!

Hi, me too!!!!!!!!!! Staying at Ramada Plaza Gateway 14th - 21st :cheer2:

Debs x

Ooops. think I'm on the wrong post here, I'm staying in WDW FL, sorry x

me too! Now how early is to early to pack? LOL

What?? You mean you guys aren't packed YET????

hee hee - my suitcases have been out since our last vacation (Mexico - first week of March) - figured it made more sense to wash the clothes and just put them back in the suitcase for DL!!

So there is no such thing as too early to pack!! Just beware - the more time you spend packing, the more stuff you will seem to bring with you!

Everyone is updaded and we are up to 79 DISers. WOW!

I too have been wanting to start packing. I am just itching to have DH pull the suitcase down from the top shelf of the closet! At least my packing list is done. I just need to print it off!

Tomorrow my countdown will be down to "two hands" and after that..... SINGLE DIGITS!!!!!!!:cool1:

Now I just have to get through one more day of CSTs with my class, a field trip Friday, and 4.5 days until we go off track. It is going to be a long 6.5 days of work!

I started throwing things I dont want to forget into a bag a couple of days ago. So I guess I already started to pack. This weekend I am getting my tires rotated and and oil change (we are also visiting Vegas and the Grand Canyon this trip also). My DH is finally starting to pay attention to my ramblings about DLR so I think he is actually coming around and starting to get excited... DLR is not his 'happy place'.

I'm not a board regular, but listen to the Podcast all the time.

My wife and I are celebrating our 15th Anniversary with our first-ever trip to California and Disneyland! I was a WDW castmember in the 80's and have always wanted to visit Walt's park.

We'll be in California May 7th - 15th! I am hoping we'll get to see a soft-opening of World of Color.

We're staying 3 nights on Coronado Island in San Diego and 5 nights in Anaheim at Holiday Inn Suites.

Anyone been to a "Price Is Right" taping? We're going to the early taping on Wednesday, May 12th.

Any advice on places to eat in the Anaheim area off-property?

I know there are several options at Garden Walk, but don't know what else is out there.

I'll be at the HoJo from May 24-30. I will have lime green Mickey heads on my stroller, and probably somewhere on my person. Say "Hi!" if you see us!!

We just decided TODAY to squeeze in a last minute trip the first week of May. It's probably going to be the last chance we can go before the APs expire!

We're staying at the Anaheim Best Western across from the park entrance (not the BWPPI, but still pretty darn close). We like to stay at the HOJO, but we found a better deal at BW for the dates that we're going (even better than the AP or entertainment book rates).

I am looking over my dining choices and noticed one thing.. other than Ariels Grotto, every one of the dining choices were in Disneyland (and 1 visit to Goofy's Kitchen) Is there anywhere in CA that we NEED to eat at?

Lots of us going in May...we'll be there the first week as well and although I LOVE BWPPI we're trying HOJO for the first time!

Where did you find your deal?

Right on their website, using the AAA discount! Of course, it helps that we're going right in the middle of the week when the park hours are shorter.

You'll love HOJO!

We are arriving on May 21 and leaving on May 30. This will be a hybrid trip where we are spending the weekends with our son and his new bride and the middle of the week will be at VGC. This is our second trip to DL, but the first one was really rained out, so I consider this one our first one as a lot of attractions and most restaurants were closed when we were there in January.

Hi Everyone!
So my DH and I are huge Disney World Fans. We go every year and we are booked already for the Fall 2010. We love the Food and Wine Festival and the Halloween Party.
So we will be in the LA area Memorial Day weekend and decided to go to DL on the Thursday before. Even though we know DW really well, neither of us have ever been to DL! I read there is a Food and Wine Festival going on while we are there. (I can't believe our good luck with the timing on that!).
So we are going to drive to DL in the morning from LA, and drive back at night.
Can anyone tell me if we should make dining reservations (and if so any suggestions), or will the Food and Wine Festival (which we will take full advantage of) be so extensive that we will have no room left for lunch or dinner? Also, anything we should put at the top of our list? I know in FL you have to get to Epcot when the park opens if you want to ride Soarin' without waiting for hours. Which ride(s) should we go to first in DL?
Thanks for your help!
Agnes

Hey spiderdust,

I know we all hate to think about it, but what date will you be leaving DL?
