I want to book a May 2006 4 night cruise - anyone have an idea of when rates/dates will be out?

If it is not until next year - do you think I will have a hard time getting a reservation at the Beach Club Villas if I wait until I have the cruise date to book the hotel?

Thanks so much for any info. I just discovered these boards in my research start (yes I am a planner!) and all your information has been wonderful. Thanks to all who take the time to share!

Dates & rates probably won't be out until Dec or Jan. :(

I am waiting for May '06 as well.... Seems like a long wait....

Well, unless there are some major changes with Disney Cruise Line, the 4 day cruises always leave on a Sunday so the dates for May 2006 would be

Sunday, April 30- Thursday, May 4

Sunday, May 7 - Thursday, May 11

Sunday, May 14 - Thursday, May 18

Sunday, May 21 - Thursday, May 25

The 3 day cruises always leave on Thursday and return on Sunday.

The actual rates will probably not be out until later this year though.

So as far as booking your stay at the Beach Club Villas, I think you could go ahead and book that any time you are ready. I assume you are doing on points? And if for some reason the cruise line did have a major shift, you could still change your dates there right?

Welcome to the DIS!!

Thanks for the date info - that is a BIG help. I am not actually using points - we are not DVC members - do you think that will be a problem to reserve? I just want a place with a kitchen and a laundry as it will be me, hubbie, my parents and 2 kids - 3 & 5 (at time of cruise).

Thanks for the welcome - talk about a great wealth of information :p

On this web site there is a great section of the DVC and there are people who are willing to "rent" out their points. I did this for my honeymoon and saved about 60% off of what Disney wanted to charge us as "rack" rates.

If you become a regular on the "resorts" board then you will see all kinds of info about promotions that are happening for various travel dates. Not sure how often you want to travel to the parks but you can save a lot on accomodations if you are willing to buy an annual pass for even one member of your family.

So if you went to Disney in May 2006, say May 1-5 then your pass would expire April 30, 2007 and if you could squease in a couple more days between, might work out well for you.

Also, if you submit a request to Dreams Unlimited Travel (the sponsor of this site) for the dates you are interested in cruising, they will keep you "on file" and will give you a quote as soon as the dates DO become available thereby assuring that you will get one of the earliest discounts (they also offer great incentives like rebates and/or stateroom credit).
