I was a little disappointed in the fares from SW for May. Anyone booked yet? I'm debating on booking now. I don't want to book and get a ding and have a credit because more than likely I won't be traveling next year. :confused3 What are you guys planning to do?

I'm in the same boat as you. We're travelling Apr 30 - May 6 and I haven't booked yet. I've been waiting for a "deal" since we also would not use a credit before it expired. Although as I've been waiting some of the cheaper fares are no longer available for our flight out to Orlando. Last night I told my DH that if SW's special DINGs today did not come through for me, that I was just going to go ahead and book before it got any MORE expensive!

Originally, to get a specific flight, the Nashville - Orlando fare was already at $124 ONE WAY!!! I'd booked that a couple of weeks ago and have watched the fares rise/medicore "specials" appear. I was fiddling around on their website and rebooked---took a different departure flight. It saved $96 for the three of us combined EACH WAY. Currently, since I nabbed the $39 o.w. fares last May, airfare is $330 over budget---but that's better than the $500+ over-budget it was as of yesterday. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed I can lower it more. Last year, the $39 fares for May came out in about the middle of March.

I booked a DING! ISP-MCO 5/3-5/9, for $44 each way last month

I just booked this morning. I was getting worried prices will just go up, and I want to fly on certain dates/times. I am disappointed in the fares too :( So for 4 of us from STL to MCO, total is $828. This is the most I have ever spent on fares to MCO. I usually get lucky and find the $59 each way fare.

I have another questions. If I have a credit..do you have to travel by the date of purchase or do you have to book by the day of purchase. :scared:

Good question! Sorry I don't have an answer. Hopefully I will end up with a credit on SWA too. I usually do a girls trip in October, so I can use it then.

booked last month (ding) for $39 each way from Philly. May 4 to 12

I had to change my flight from US Air (long story), so I ended up getting lucky and got a Ding. I booked $39 each way from Pittsburgh.

booked about a month ago for a DING at 44 each way on SW from Albany to mco. two hours before I booked for 79, they credited my credit card when I called. they were really nice and held on while I rebooked. Great customer service.

Oh man that is awesome! I can't get ding to work on my computer. I have a friend looking out for me who has Ding.
