Thanks for giving us the update as I know everyone was hoping it went smoothly for you and your family.
As for the other stuff, WHEW!! when you stress, you REALLY know how to do it right!!:lmao::lmao::lmao:
The good news is that in just a few days, you can relax and unwind and I'll help you lysol the entire ship! ;)

Hi Everyone,

I have been away on a retreat since Friday and have not been able to check up on the boards.

Mara is a girl and she will be six on Wednesday for everyone in the FE group. princess:

I made all my FE gifts for the adults and they were misplaced at the retreat. I will have to make new ones this week in addition to getting ready for the cruise. I am a little stressed.

We leave on Friday to drive. Can't wait to meet everyone.:cheer2:

Brenda

Thanks for clearing that up for us.....I guess you just made a typo on your post....Whew!!! :goodvibes

Hope you have a good week!

Am I happy to going to Florida in 3 days? YES!:cool1:

Thanks, Myth, for calling about the movies. :worship: I love that Wall-E is still on it. The list actually looks pretty good right now.

I also had a dream that I showed up late for an exam and was naked! Ha Ha! Love those anxiety dreams!!
That sounds like one of my dreams! Are you planning on going to law school soon, Bratz?:lmao:
On a serious note, I am really concerned about this flu situation. I hope that DCL steps forward.....just getting more concerned as each days passes!
Bratz, I'm predicting right now that we will receive an announcement when we check-in with an update on the situation and Disney's decision regarding it.

Btw, I was talking with a friend who cruised with Disney a year ago and she said we should all be hoping for another day at Castaway Cay if we don't stop in Cozumel. I like that idea! :cool1:

Looking forward to meeting you all on Saturday!:grouphug:

Temps here, Saturday was 92 :scared1: , Sunday 92 :scared1: and today around 91 :scared1:. Thursday's later this week high 69 :scared1: Go figure. :confused3

DaveH-As long as we can make it out of VA as scheduled on Saturday morning, I will be happy! We certainly are having a heat wave right now....I'm even "borrowing" my cruise clothes!!:lmao:

Oh Pink..............that is just crazy :scared1:Send that snow away!!!! It is 77 degrees here right now.......move to Ontario!

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't end up in Cozumel, which means no cooking class! Oh well....could be worse, we could not be on the ship!:scared: I am not going to worry about it, I am on vacation in 37 hours!!! I know DCL will take care of us!

Can't wait....so excited here!!!:cheer2:I went and did some last minute pick up shopping at lunch today. Will finish at work in about 4 hours! WOOHOO!!!

WOOHOO!!!! It won't be too choppy at the back of the boat!

Laura-In case I don't hear from you, have a safe trip down to WDW, relax, enjoy and I'll be looking forward to seeing you on the boat! Don't forget your bracelet!!:goodvibes

PS-If you pass by Virginia and want to pick me up, I won't argue! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Have fun!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Uh-oh....this just in....

"WASHINGTON — U.S. officials advised Americans against most travel to Mexico today as a swine flu virus that began there spread to the United States and beyond.

"And Besser said a new U.S. travel advisory was being prepared suggesting "nonessential travel to Mexico be avoided."

So much for Cozumel!

So, I am a total germaphobe as it is. The plane, airports, cruise ship and WDW are crowded enough to have me worried about getting sick, but now I have to worry about my family dying from the swine flu? This is really going to put me over the edge.

Although there is some cause for caution, don't worry too much. Remember that we have news these days 24/7. Anyone old enough to remember pre-cable? Pre-CNN? Pre-Web News? The newer media have to fill up all of that 24/7 time. Seeing these constant updates can cause extra anxiety. :scared1:

That being said, we should all take the usual precautions to avoid getting sick. The same ones that are recommended for cruise ships anyway (because of the tummy flu  that can go around) - wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands! And avoid touching eyes, nose and mouths.

Don't worry, be happy! :yay::yay:

I was just at the bank getting cash for the trip. Chatting with the teller she suggested that if I am going to use my charge card outside of the U.S. (remember, Grand Cayman is a territory of the UK) to call and let customer service know so they don't freeze the card for suspicious activity.

Ok, I better get back to work. I swore that I wasn't going to spend time on the disboard while here.....and I have a lot to do at work before leaving on Wednesday!

From http://www.caymanislands.ky/general_information/financial_services.aspx

The Cayman Islands has its own currency, first issued in 1972, whose basic unit is the dollar, issued in notes with denominations of CI$100, 50, 25, 10, 5 and 1 and coins valued at 25 cents, 10, 5 and 1 cent. The CI dollar has a fixed exchange rate with the US dollar of CI$1.00 equals US$1.25. Or, the US dollar equals CI $.80.

There is no need for visitors to exchange their US dollars into local currency. The US dollar is accepted throughout the islands at a rate of CI 80 cents. However, this can be confusing to visitors: for example, a US$20 note becomes CI$16. Banks do NOT give a better rate of exchange! Major credit cards (with the exception of the Discover Card) and travellers checks are widely accepted. Canadian dollars, Euro dollars and pounds sterling can be exchanged for CI dollars at local banks.

I know Castaway Cay is wonderful and all, but I'm really depressed about this whole Mexico thing:sad1:. I booked this cruise specifically so my daughter could have the experience of going to Mexico and speaking spanish to native speakers. (she's in 3rd grade and has taken spanish since K) It is the thing she looked forward the most to. The more I read, the more I figure we won't be stopping. It's just so disappointing.....

So does anyone officially know yet if we are stopping in Mexico or not? I would LOVE an extra day at Castaway..........:woohoo:
I wish Disney would let us know soon! (i'm like a child....I can't wait for anything!):lmao:
