May 2, 2009~~~Magical MAYniacs!~~~ 7 day Western....Updated, April 3,2009!!

Hi everyone,

I've been absent, too. School started again, and my life online (and off) changes when that happens.:dance3:

I've also been looking into buying into the DVC, which is exciting but a bit scary in terms of cash outlay. We have an inheritance coming to us from my mom, and I wanted to use some of it to buy something that we could all enjoy and remember her with whenever we used it. Anyway, that's my story.

Toribelle, I'm sad to see you go, but your new plans sound like a lot of fun. Please check back in and say hello. I'd love to hear from you again.

Laura, your family looks lovely. Are they jealous not to be coming with you? DH and I have thought about taking a solo WDW trip when I graduate, but when we mentioned it to the kids, their response was::sad:

And Zerog, still lovin' the countdown!

Isn't it awful how life gets in the way? I too have been super busy and have really been neglecting everything else! Just think, it isn't too far around the corner and we will be sitting on The Magic!

Thanks for the kind words about our kids, and they haven't really said too much about us going, no complaining anyway. We have done a few solo trips the past few years and all they say is, "you are going again"?:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Pinch me. We made an offer on a DVC resale at the BCV, and it was accepted! :faint:

I can't believe it. We've taken the first step to becoming Mouse Owners. :woohoo:

Just wanted to share the news with all of you. When Mom died last year, our summers, which had always been spent with her, suddenly changed, so I decided to spend part of the money she left us on the DVC, which will enable us to spend a bit of our summer in another, new way. The kids have been begging us to visit Disney more often and this will enable it. Plus, I like that Mom will always be with us in spirit whenever we visit, as the person who made it all possible.

Oh my goodness! You are so so so so lucky!!!! Good for you and what a great idea! Congrats!!!

Thanks Laura. DH and I are really happy about the decision (although it was scary to make - big purchase!). We want to tell the kids, but we've decided to surprise them instead when we actually go "home" for the first time.

Are any of you planning (hoping?) to schedule a DCL cruise in Europe in 2010? They are going to the Mediterranean again with 3 new ports (Tunisia, Malta & Corsica), doing 12-night cruises in Northern Europe & also have a couple shorter cruises getting from South to North & back - and of course the transatlantic sail.

I'm hoping we can afford to go the Med again - that was our first (and so far only) DCL cruise. We'll have a 5 y-o & 2 y-o at the time so the plane ride would be PAINFUL but so worth it!

Anyone else?

They do look wonderful. I've always wanted to cross the Atlantic on a ship - must be the old movie buff in me. However, I'd need them to happen in 2011, when I graduate, not 2010.

Be sure to write a trip report if you go!:thumbsup2

I have been looking at them also, but with this being our first cruise, perhaps we should hold out and see if we like it.

Besides that...........I am hoping that DCL goes to Alaska the year after. Perhaps will try to save our pennies for that!

Hi Everyone

You may notice a new TICKER at the bottom of my posts. That is the countdown to Meemers, our new puppy. We are picking her up October 31. She is an F1B Golden Doodle. That means, she is 2 parts poodle and 1 part Golden Retriever.

Hmmm... New ticker didn't work...

Here is a photo:

Hi Magical Mayniacs. Cute puppy by the way.
Here is some photos to get us in the mood of cruising in a few months. I just dropped my kids off to go on the Magic cruise this morning. They will also go with us on the May one.(Tazgirl) So this is only a glimmer of what we are gonna be looking forward to in a few months.

What an adorable puppy! I have never heard of a doodle...how big do they get? DD has been asking for a dog for a long time (and wants to be a vet someday), so I guess we will have to break down and get a dog sometime in the not-too-distant future! I love how cute Meemers is!

Not to steal Zerog's thunder, but here is a pic of our niece's Doodle, as mentioned she is black. She loves the water and is so so so good around kids. Also, she is not as heavy as she looks, she is mostly hair! Not a great pic, but it seems every pic I have she is swimming :lmao: (oh, did find one of her laying)

Verry cute doggy. I would have figured that hey were smaller. But they are cute. Thanks for sharing.

I've always preferred large dogs (but not the aggressive types, like Dobermans, Pit Bulls, etc. - more like Airedales, Greyhounds, Golden Retrievers, etc.). My DW likes small fluffy dogs and DD wants a Chihuahua (of course, after seeing the movie).

We saw a medium-size Doodle in Las Vegas and agreed to compromise on the size. Golden Doodles vary in size from miniature to large depending on the parents. If you're interested, there is actually a Golden Doodle website: www.goldendoodles.com. We also considered the "Labradoodle" which is a Labrador Retriever / Poodle hybrid.

The kids don't know we're getting a dog. Shhhhhh. This will be a complete surprise. Since we're picking up the puppy on October 31, we're guessing that this will be one 'trick or treat' that the children will never forget. How funny would it be if we coordinated with a neighbor to put the puppy in the pumpkin after the kids ring the doorbell and say trick or treat? :-) But I think we'll just surprise the kids when we pick them up from school. A friend at work let me borrow some of her dogs old doggie-halloween costumes which might fit the puppy. Then we can dress her up and take her trick-or-treating too.
