what about me MAY hearties.....
We missed being in Cozumel for Cinco De Mayo by one day.![]()
That would have been cool!![]()
We will be in Grand Cayman on Tuesday, the 5th and Cozumel on Wednesday, the 6th.
Either way, I wonder if they'll have a Mexican-type theme on May 5.
I was on the same cruise. DCL did not do anything special for Cinco de Mayo. Perhaps if we had been in Cozumel on that day or if it had been one of the Mexican cruises, things would have been different.
Last year, we got off the Eastern Caribbean on May 5 and headed to the Mexican pavilion at Epcot. Except for a small band playing there and a very small acknowledgement, it was also low key at best.
At the end of the cruise you will get color coded luggage tags to put on your suitcases. Information needed is:
Number of pieces of luggage (e.g., 1 of 7, 2 of 7, 3 of 7, etc.)
Stateroom number
Name
Address (including city, state and zip code)
Make those up in advance on address labels. Then when you have to pack it will make it a little quicker. Plus, by being printed it is easier for the porters who unload the ship to help keep your pieces together. Tag measures 4 inches wide by 2.5 inches tall to help you figure out which size label to use.
An extra tip for scrapbookers. The front of these tags feature different characters. Tags of all colors are available at a table by guest services. So stop by and you can pick up some cute tags for your scrapbook.
------- Trust me on this one, it is not pleasant having to write your name and address on 8 luggage tags ----- especially when you need to have your suitcases outside your door by 11pm and there is so much packing to do.
Wanted to ask Linds79 which day on the cruise are you getting married???![]()
Here is a picture of a tag I had from the Wonder in April.

** LAST DAY TO DO THIS **
A million names will be blasted into space and "to the moon" on Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO).
Since May 1, NASA has invited the public to join the excitement of the first mission in NASA's exploration program to return humans to the moon by 2020. LRO, which is scheduled to launch later this year, will map the lunar surface in extraordinary detail and help future human missions to the moon locate safe landing sites and vital resources on the moon.
There is still time to be part of the adventure and send your name on a mission to the moon.
Participants can submit their names at the LRO web site and print a certificate. The names will be placed on a microchip that will be installed on the LRO spacecraft and travel to the moon. The deadline for submitting names is June 27, 2008.
