May 19th POTC 3 premiere event

My dd will be there w/her friends. She missed out last time, and both of her friends ended up on the DVD in the special features section.

I'm not sure I'll be there again this year. I went to the last one, and though I thought it was fun, I think there will be even more people this time (if that's possible), and standing behind 2-3 rows of people who are all taller than me gives me great pause at whether I want to go again this year.

Anyone can go? (please forgive my ignorance - I assumed it was an invite only event)

The premier is only by invitation, however, many many many many many many fans can line the red carpet to catch a glimpse of the stars, or even, if they're lucky get pictures/autographs of/from them as the invitees go to the premier itself.

Yessss! As of right now, it's definitely looking like I am going to Disneyland for the first time ever!!! :yay:  Of course, I had to plan my week in California around the POTC premiere:thumbsup2

As a matter of fact, right now I am searching for hotels, flights, and everything else. :cool1:  Is it obvious that I'm really excited? ;)

A question for those who have been to the pervious premieres-After everyone has been in his/her spot for awhile, is it calm? As in, are there people trying to steal other people's spots and such??

I was going to do this with my friend, but since other DIS members are going to be there, I thought maybe we could all meet up outside the park before the gates open and sit together. Then we all can take turns holding our spots and having a short break until it gets closer to the premiere time. Of course, I would not do this if people are crazy and will start stealing spots say "saving is not allowed" or what not...even if we all get there early. Anyone think this is a good idea?

I just posted some details in your thread. It was very "calm" until about 2 hours before the stars were to begin walking the red carpet. I had a great time just sitting and talking to the fans around me. I will be glad to meet up with you and share my secret spot! Feel free to pm me. Oh, I am bringing my daughter for her birthday! She will be 13.

Oh, wow! That's a great birthday present! She is very lucky. I am going as my college graduation present so I guess I'm pretty lucky, too.

That's what I was wondering, if it was boring just sitting there for hours but I think it will be fun talking to other fans and I seen your other post about there being entertainers so that will be good. I will just be happy sitting there.

Those pictures are amazing and I haven't even finished looking at all of them!!Tons of celebrities.

That looks like so much fun. And everyone has those cute Mickey pirate hats. Now I am even more excited...if that's even possible!

I went to the premiere last year and it was soooo much fun...I was first in line that day and got to open the park.I got Johnny, Orlando, Jerry Bruckheimer, and many others autogrpahs. I agree that waiting for that long is boring but DO NOT leave your spot every time I went to the bathroom people inched closer and closer. Also, be prepared that when stars start coming people will go nuts, literally! I got pushed last year into the railing because I was in front and got my camera pushed out of my hands and it broke. Wear something pirate related because then more stars will notice you. Also, look up the actors names from the film online because they will not respond if you call them their characters name, they don't like that. Bring lots of film, sunscreen, snacks, blanket/towel to sit on, music, cards, games, and patience. I got in line at 3 am so be ready for a very long day. Even though most of what I said sounded negative a lot of really good things happened. It was my birthday so I had a pin on my shirt and the writer of the film game over to me and talked to me for about 5 min and gave me loads of pirate stuff. Also by the time Orlando got down to where I was it was time for him to do press so he signed the girl before me but didnt get to me and started walking away but my mom said but its her birthday and he actually came back and signed it and said happy birthday! I think that you will have a great time, just be ready for people to show up at the last minute and try and push you out of your spot.

I almost went last year, and kick myself for NOT.
So I'm thinking this would be my last chance...and that I'd better make the most of it. It would be great to have a group from here...I agree that we could camp out a spot and take turns 'holding it'.

If this is the meet thread, then maybe OP can start a list of 'interested attendees' on the first post. I'm in!:grouphug:

I'll be there with a friend of mine. I don't really know what the plan is, but I'm sure we'll have it all figured out well before we have to be there. lol She was there last year too.

We didn't even know about last year. So, this year, we're surprising DD11 who's such a fan. I just hope we survive!:sad2:

M&C

weeeird, CM are actually blocked at the gate on May 19th. I wonder how the primere is going to work -_-

I am going to be in Disneyland for the next Pirate of the Caribbean "At World's End" movie premiere event. Anyone else care to join my crew? pirate:

I'll be going for this and am really excited! I'd love to join you and other DIS members for this event! Although I originally planned to not go solo, my wife is pregnant and cannot fly. I assumed that I'd get to know the people around me and we could all help each other out, but hanging out with fellow DIS members is a great idea! :yay:
