May 19th Pirates Red Carpet

What time is the red carpet event to take place? I saw on DAP that the park is closing at 5pm today. I can't wait to see any photos/videos. I would just pass out if I meet the incredible Mr. Depp. =o)

So were the regular day guests allowed to see the celebs or are they clearing the park prior to the event?

Oh how I wish I could have afforded the $1,500 MAW tickets I would have been there in a heartbeat.

Well, I was supposed to be there, but of course, everything went wrong and I am still sitting home.


So I basically envy everyone who got to go....especially those who bought the $1500 premiere ticekts.


Those of you that went: Anyone have any stories or pictures to share that way I can feel even more depressed about not going I really would love to see some pictures. I was looking online at the pictures from last year...I can't believe some people got to meet Johnny AND Orlando!

Well, Kelly called me during the day & they were all the way at the Partners Statue! There were double barriers set up and the media started setting up in front of their group. She had wanted to take pictures with JD & OB, etc., so she & her friends made the executive decision to enjoy the day at Disneyland & California Adventure instead of waiting for a glimpse of someone walking down the carpet. I think her friend, Brandi, & the group of friends she was with decided to stay, even though they couldn't get autographs or pictures with the stars.

Kelly was happy with her decision. She was able to enjoy the atmosphere, check out all the decorations, and get a pin for her & me.

So, hopefully someone else got awesome pics of the event.

I had prime spots...Got a wink from Orlando and was inches from him and Johnny as they went down signing...beautiful and gracious men who adore their fans.

Well Mr. Depp is incredible. We spotted him in New Orleans Square Friday Night just as he was comming out of Club 33, he was being whisked thru the crowd, when I decided to stop him to meet my ds8. He was very soft spoken, very nice, and agreed to a picture (below in my siggy). The event itself went fabulous. We actually lucked out. We got in line to buy our blockout tickets at 5a.m. CRAZYYYYY lines. I was super sick, so we went back to the room and didn't get into the park till 8:30a.m. We ate and rode rides and got a spot on the red carpet at 3:30p.m. We lucked out cause we dressed my DS as Captain Jack Sparrow (Costume form Disneystore) and did his makeup and all. SO everyone let him and me up to the gate. We actually met and got autographs from Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp, Naomie Harris (Tia Dalma) Mark Curry, Mark Lawerence, Ian Zering, Jerry Bruckheimer, Leeza Gibbons, The small bald Pirate (forgot his name), Terry Roccio (writer), Janice Dickinson, One of the guys from Even Stevens, The president o f the Disneyland Resort, and a few others. It was amazing, I have 2 rolls of film being developed plus video tape.

You're welcome...and I've been on cloud 9 ever since...this was a life changing event for me and getting a wink and "sweetie" from Orlando has changed me SO much..I will cherish these photos always.

I hate to break it to you but i dont think thats Johnny Depp. There were TONS of imposters flooding the parks that weekend for the very purpose of distracting folks.
Here's why i dont think its him:
1. Looks too heavy in the face
2. Had a 2 day stubble on Saturday the day after this pic was taken
3. His hair is all one length at the premiere - and his bangs were down to his chin, yet one day earlier he has much shorter hair with short bangs.
4.He doesnt have the distinctive cheekbones - the sahpe of his face is all wrong.
5. He is wearing the leather cuff from Platoon on the left wrist in your pic - but Johnny only wears that on his right wrist.

Do i think you purposefully said it was him?Nope.It's very easy to get caught up in the moment.But i didnt want you to tell all your friends you'd met him and be embarrased if they said to your face: "Thats not Johnny Depp"

Here's the clincher - Did this guy sign any autographs for you as Johnny Depp? Cause an impostor cant do that, especially if they are in the employ of Disney.Johnny never refuses autographs to anyone - he even missed a flight once because he couldnt say no.So if you asked and he declined, theres a big sign right there.

weird. the security who took him away into the back door of pirates of the caribbean had told us it was him. He did sign an autograph which looks very much like the one we got from him on the red carpet. Well if it's not, he was a great imposter. It's cool, we wondered ourselves, but security made us believe it was, oh well, we saw him the next night on the red carpet got video, and an autograph. Either way my son met him, right.
