So, who is daring to wake up at the crack of dawn to get good spots on the Main Street red carpet.

<---*raises hand*

Yup, I'm doing it. Actually, I'm going the night before, hang out until they kick us out of the parking structure, then hang out at a 24 hour place around there, Denny's I think? Then get right back in line to park in the structure while my partner in this crime stands in line to get into the park. We'll see where we end up on the red carpet after a whole day of waiting!

I'm excited!

ETA: Pics of the event and our prime spots in post #46!

Im not sure how a priemere works but i know you need a ticket to get in. the ticket also happen to cost $1,500 and is currently sold out. Not sure if you will have any luck at gettin a spot.

The park is taking regular guests that day too...

What I read said something about it happening at like 6am!

Claribella, Make sure you come back and tell us how it went, OK?

yes and no....

This is what is happening. The $1500 tickets are to watch the showing of it on Rivers of America, join in the party and buffet and get some items.

That is not what I"m doing. I'm going to Disneyland on the 19th at 6:30am opening to get a spot on Main Street where the red carpet will be. The stars don't start walking down the red carpet until about 4:30pm. This is open to the public. But to see the show and join in the party after the showing..you need to have a $1500 ticket.

So I'm just going to be on the red carpet to try and get a glimpse of the stars......along with a million screaming tweens :rotfl:

yeah, i dont know how it works but meh.

I probably will go see the movie on the 22nd. :)

As far as I know you get to watch the arrivals till the park kicks you out around 8p.m. That's the plan. I will be there too!

Well we are staying there until the 17th and then going to the beach but maybe we can reschedule!

I'm considering doing this as well but I don't know how I feel about getting there super, super early for good seats and having to sit there until 4:30. :scared:

It looks like a lot of fun though, I better start saving up for park admission.

Love me some pirates!! pirate:

Did anybody do this last year?

I have a friend who will be there for the red carpet and we are meeting up 'afterwards'. Will it really be 8PM before the stars walk the carpet and everyone gets kicked out? I was hoping we'd be having dinner together earlier than that. Maybe I'll just wait for her at the BAR at the Grand Californian :drinking1

Boy, you know you are getting old when the idea of doing this just sounds like a living hell! Well, maybe if they gave me a barkalounger on a shady spot on Main Street and a personal waiter I could survive it. ;)

BTW, isn't it great that Make A Wish has made $3,000,000 from this event? :thumbsup2

The stars walk the red carpet around 4:30ish.

I'll be there. The group I'll be with already has an area picked out to meet. Not sure I'll get there at opening just because I don't know if I can get the kid moving that early, but we'll get there as early as we can.

hi everyone! newbie here!
I just wanted to post up and say that I actually got the spiffy $1500 tickets to the premiere. I'll be going with my hubby nd my brother and am SO EXCITED. :yay:
I'll post pictures up after I get back if anyone wants!
Also, I have some info about the red carpet thing I got from Jane Smith, the lady from disney who is coordinating the event. That's what we were planning to do at first but decided to go ahead and get the good tickets.
anyways this looks like an awesome community. can't wait to post more.

:welcome: to the DISboards! This is a great place to get information and opinions (lots of those ;) ) on all your Disney related adventures. Please come back with pictures and stories, we'd love to hear how the event was from a Make A Wish ticket holder! :thumbsup2

Welcome to the DIS Stefiangel. That is really awesome that you got those tix. Good for you!

Welcome Stefiangel! I'm so jealous! But if you see a tired looking girl and her sister well that would be me! But only on the red carpet!

Have fun and come back and tell us what it was like!

Hi StefiAngel,
Welcome to the DIS!

Is the info about the red carpet something you could share here? I'll be one of masses lining main street on the 19th.

I'd love to see pictures and hear a report of what it's like "on the inside"!

Hi guys! Thanks for all the welcomes!

Here is the info that Jane (the lady at Disney) gave me...

Disneyland Gates will open at 6:30 am on 5/19, at which time Guests will be able to line up at the Red Carpet to wait. Space along the Red Carpet is first-come-first-served and there will be no saving spaces allowed.

The Mickey & Friends Parking Structure will open at 5:00 am on 5/19 for Guests to park if they are arriving early to get in at 6:30. Guests will not be encouraged to line up at the Disneyland Main Gate prior to 5:00 am.

You can email her at jane.smith@disney.com with anymore questions you have. she's very nice! pirate:

This is interesting....if the 'guests' are the 2,000 MAW ticket holders, does this mean they will clear the park and only the ticket holders will be able to line Main Street? (As opposed to regular park goers being able to hang out along Main Steet to watch the arrivals like last year.):confused3
