I don't remember any 'official orders' being taken either, I just remember Valbob asking what people thought of different ideas.

i dont recall either, i think she was still in talks with company.

has anyone heard from Val, she was on the boards yesterday.

Oh that's a shame - will be disappointed if we can't get in there :(

Haha! Does he really believe you? I am tempted to get my DB the Tigger onesie because I call him that because he's ginger :) hence the Beaker nickname as well - because he's got about as much hair as Beaker :)

Val was on earlier today and when I tried to message her may screen hung up. Sent her a PM asking about the Google doc and the shirts. Hope all is well with them.
 
That's good to know. I think Chris (Grandma x3) and I are going to organize the Palo Brunches. I would appreciate any help or insight you and others can provide.

Do you think we should have some kind of sign up form on the website with a deadline? What is the earliest the request can be sent in? Maximum number for the private room is 14?

We did it by sending a PM to event organizer. Min=12, Max=14. Same table size but 14 would be cozier. 10:30 on sea days. Request can be sent in at any time from what I understand but they will not work on requests until they get to our sailing, and then fill requests in order received as I understand it. I would prefer sending them in sooner than later since group brunch is limited to just one group per day I believe, and only a limited number of days. We had our requests at least 30 days prior to WBTA, and each group received the requested sea day.

I just found on line that check in begins at 11am and boarding 1pm, both of my cruises started boarding before this.

Actually, GROUP 1 (Concierge, Suites & Platinum Castaway Club) are able to board as soon as they are checked in. On our last cruise, we were able to board at about 11:15 ... and we were nowhere near first to board.

I'm wondering if that is too long on lanyards... character limitations... ? Some have been pretty stringent.

EBTA 2013 from Tejas to Espana = 30 characters including spaces


If lanyard spacing is an issue ...

MAGIC ACROSS THE ATLANTIC

... could mean pretty much anything. Tejas to Espana is neat, but not sure it would fit on a lanyard.

(badge inserts vs. lanyards)

- Remember, badges do not know they are supposed to point in one specific direction. It is not uncommon for a badge to get reversed. The basic idea of the lanyards is to identify a fellow DISer from a distance ... something which would enable you to introduce yourself if you do not know the other DISer (or, cannot see their nametag). If you skip the lanyard and use a badge insert, I'm guessing people would not notice the badge ... especially if it gets reversed.

Ok, collect names of those who would like to dine as a group in private room at palo for brunch, minimum of 14 people.

If I remember correctly, the maximum is 14. I am not sure if the size of Palo Private Dining Room is larger on the Dream / Fantasy ... keep thinking we had 12 on previous classic ship Palo Private DR's. 12 was plenty for that room ... any more, and you'd be a squeezed in a bit! No matter ... occupancy can be clarified with a phone call to DCL.

Gibraltar's currency is the pound sterling, not the Euro! Big conversion mistake, opps. Glad I caught myself as I was doing the math...

Most facilities in Gibraltar will accept Euros, as well as UK Pound ... but ... UK is not obligated nor required to accept Gibraltar currency. In addition, my bank (regional to Philadelphia) is able to get Euros, as well as UK Pounds ... but not Gibraltar Sterling. Many banks have a minimum order amount, when requesting money other than Euro's.

If you check in after boarding has started, you can board as soon as you've checked in.

PALO GROUP BRUNCHES
* The first will be scheduled for Mon- May 20th (Our 2nd Sea Day because the PJ Breakfast is on our first Sea Day)

* Each group will be a minimum of 12 and a max of 14.
* PM me your Names and Party size. (We will request the rest of your info before the requests are sent in)
* We will fill the groups first come first serve.
* All Guests must be 18+


Once we start our new thread I will create a post on page one that can be updated. I will see about doing the same on our website.

Even though there is conflicting information on the boards the following may be true: Once the Group Brunch is confirmed any reservation an individual holds will be cancelled since you can only have 1 reservation for brunch and 1 for dinner.

Concierge guests do not receive a boarding card. They are escorted to the concierge waiting area and boarded directly after the Family of the Day through a side door (at PC , not sure what they do in the non Disney Terminals). Any concierge guests who arrive after boarding has begun can board as soon as they check in.
 
I wonder, what time does boarding start at the Port of Galveston?

I was on the Magic from Galveston in November and was onboard by noon having lunch. I don't recall what time we actually started boarding as I think we were group 4 (?)
