Hi there,

Myself, my wife Helen & our daughter Grace will hopefully be joining you on board. Just trying to get leave ok'd at work.

This would be our 2nd cruise, our previous cruise was the Disney WBTA in 2011 (hi Mandygirl, Binkytell & Seraphine, will be good to see you guys again)

Just a couple of questions if anyone could help.

1. When booking from the UK where is the best place to book to receive The best on board credit?

2. I've read about GTY status cabins, when do Disney release these? Can these be booked through a travel agent? Can you combine GTY rooms with OBC?

I would appreciate any advice

Paul, Helen & Grace

YYYEEEEE HHHAAAAA! I'm so glad you're coming with us! I can't wait to tell Steve! :cool1:

I can't help with the questions (we booked through a TA friend in Canada) but would love to hear the answers.

We are going to have the BEST cruise group ever!

Hi there,

I have always wondered whether it would be different travellng in a different direction having done the WBTA's. The reason I was thinking of doing this cruise, is that I have retired aged 46 and my wife is busy working and cannot get the time off work as we shall be doing other cruises later in the summer and then the WBTA, when it's finally annouced.

My big problem is that? Is it strange to do such a family cruise solo? I know some ladies get together and share cabins, although I haven't heard of men doing similar.

You never know I might just do it for the experience, although my wife won't be happy!!

Stephen, we met on the last WBTA... you are welcome to hang out with us! (we seem to have a growing Scotland contingent here!)

I've heard of men solo cruisers on the cruisecritic board - they even have a forum page for Solo Cruisers and I've seen the odd thread with people looking for a travel partner to split a room with. I don't think it would be strange at all. Would you be looking for a cabin share or would you be wanting a cabin to yourself?

Let's hope your luggage makes it this time! I remember hearing about your bags being delayed for days last time round.

I hope you are able to make it! We will miss Mary though. Still bummed this itinerary won't swing us through the BVI for painkillers again... ;)

By the time the cruise gets here, it'll be AWESOME!

party: :jumping3: party: :jumping3: party:

It will be!! :thumbsup2 We had such an awesome group on the 2011 WBTA, it is nice to see several others popping over to the EBTA possibly. Fantastic DIS group we had.

Where in KS are you from? My in-laws are in Kansas City, and hubby grew up in far west Kansas. :)

I live in a little town called Pittsburg - it's about 120 miles almost straight south of Kansas City - if you are a college football fan, you might know the Pitt State Gorillas, National champs in their division last year (that's how most ppl know where Pittsburg, KS is).....

Just catching up here,
Cant beleive so many of you were on last years wbta, and I dont recognise any of you.

I felt at the time the boat was relatively quiet and thought we'd said hullo to almost everyone ,,,:lmao:

Must do better this time around!!!!

bren:)

(I don't recognise you either... sorry!) We'll have to make up for it this time :)

Did you come to any of the events like Champagne Girls or the Pub Crawl?

:wave2: If you did the DIS PJ breakfast or catamaran sail to Jost vanDyke - that was me coordinating all that on the DISboards (I think we had about 75 for each event). We also had the DIS mojito and mixology classes, but I just attended mixology. I was usually seen chasing my 15-month old down deck 4 or trying to pry my 5 year old from the Kids club. Sarah, Dawn and I (and our families) were a couple tables away from Kirby the Bear at late sitting - and I think most people recognized him. ;) We have just a tad over a year to get to know the EBTA 2013 folks - it will be here before we know it!!

Yes I was at the champagne girls... I was slightly squiffy,,,, lol.
We were in the secret mickey group, and the fish extender..
I also did the cocktail tasting, and sat behind a ton of the Dissers as they won a disney quiz one night.

I think sometimes if your on a different rotation/sitting than others your paths dont cross very often !!

Looking forward to meeting you this time for sure

bren:)

Take a look at my Sig! It's official now - I booked onboard Fantasy last week so I now 1yr and 1 day away from the EBTA!.

Ditto! :thumbsup2 With the linked dining we had coordinated on DIS, all of our tables were near each others', so it was like we saw each other each night at dinner. But if early vs late, wouldn't see each other much in the evenings. Prior to the cruise, between the DISboards and Facebook page, I could barely keep up with conversations it was so chatty LOL.

Congrats on the booking!! :yay:

Ahhh - I see! I looked it up on the map. Definitely have not driven through that portion before!

We should set up a FB page, I can relate names to faces better that way and find it easier to chat. Anyone up for that?

I'm cruising tomorrow (May 18) from Venice, and if I keep this cruise - I'll head back to Europe a year from tomorrow. :)
