Oh dear, I hope everything goes well! I know very little medically but my dad did have a hernia last year. The pain got so bad he had to go to the emergency room. They tried to push it back into his abdomen and when they did it split his small intestine. So needless to say he was in the hospital for a week with a few month of recovery. So I'd probably also say that is he isn't having and pain hold off on surgery until after the cruise.

Hey everyone, I'm Amanda's (Tink113's) husband. Her and I are really excited and greatly looking forward to this cruise vacation!

Amanda you have really got the whole family onboard now!!! And I love the idea of getting some of the cast to year our DIS braclet. How cool would that be to see Brent get up and talk and be wearing our bracelets.

My DH is the same way regarding names on the doors. He's fine with me posting a picture of us all, but I can't put our names on the FE or on our door magnets. I told him I respect that and will just use our last name on the magnets.

I can definately respect everyone's privacy, so speaking on the issue I wanted to check with everyone on the mini-navigators. Like I've said I'm going to print out enough copies so that there will be one per stateroom. I will also e-mail a copy of the mini navigator after the cruise so you all can have it for your momentos. I know on Jane's spreadsheet she has been tracking the adult names, kids names, cabin number, etc. I just wanted to make sure that if you want your names/celebrations listed to please let either her or I know. Also, if your name is on the spreadsheet and you don't want it listed please let me know that too. I would hate to add your information and you not want that disclosed.

For the FE page I was going to list the DISname, adult names, kids names with their ages, the cabin number, and how many men/women/girls/boys were in each stateroom. For the DISers page I was going to list the DISname, adult names, kids names, and any celebrations. Again, is this ok with everyone? If you don't want your real names on the mini-nav please let me know and I will just use the generic DW, DH, DD, etc.

Ok I'm going to do another post here in a minutes about what I've got so far for our meets.

Wow, so many new faces. Nice to meet you.

I am guessing my DH will be in khakis and a dress shirt with tie on semi-formal night, and in linen pants and shirt with tie on the formal night. I know many people really enjoy getting fully dressed to the nines, and I love seeing all the beautiful gowns and handsome men, but I don't think it is going to happen here. So, your husband won't be alone in the main dining rooms if he does not put on a full dark suit or tux. I hope none of you are horrified.

I don't know how many more times I can look at the deck plans, review the menus, and read about the excursions. This cruise needs to get here!

Don't worry your not alone on this. My husband won't even wear a tie. I'm so over it. We fought about first two cruises. by the third one i gave up. He's more of a jeans a t-shirt guy. I really don't care anymore. He will wear a bahama looking shirt . That took along time to get him too. I guess as long as he looks nice noone really cares.

Congrats to all who have received docs... We are still waiting. This whole trip seems a little surreal to me. The last time we went it was all handled by my girlfriend who had been before and we didn't do any research at all... So had no idea what to expect but now am afraid it will be over even quicker this time as we want to do it all!

Waiting with trepidation to hear about Lennon...

I love the farewell breakfast idea & the group photo! I've seen a few were to photographer took the photo from the upper level of the atrium looking down.
I'm sure we could find a cast member to help us out!

I just checked it out and read two threads that are not cool

1) Disney has changed the menus on the Wonder & everyone HATES the foods. The reviews are awful. They plan to change them on the Magic as well, but thank God not til June! I'm sure if everyone is complaining they can't make the changes...

2) Disney has put in effect a new policy about booking excursions. Apparently someone on the Board just called Chankanaab to book directly with them for the dolphin discovery (saving $200 over Disney) & everything was all good until they mentioned the Disney Cruise & then they were not allowed to book. They said that Disney has a new policy that none of their guests can book directly with the location & MUST book via Disney (and Pay $200 more)!!!
One DISer is super upset because Disney wont allow younger kids under 5 to participate & the park does so they were going to book with the park, but no go.

I never mentioned DCl when booking anything, technically it is not thier business where you are "staying"...but none of our excursions are with DCL, learned to save after the first two!

FUN FUN FUN. V -- you are full of good ideas and oh so helpful. I can't wait to sit back and have a drink with you in person!

We're so excited that the cruise is almost here!! Despite our excitement, I had to let you all know some annoying news...my husband is being unnaturally weird about my posting our picture on the site. I wanted to post one so everyone could see us and we could be recognized...but he was so bothered by it that I'm not going to for now. He is also telling me that he doesn't want the kids' names on the fish extender because then everyone knows their names and the room they're in. Sigh. I'm hoping he's just worrying and will realize that he's being ridiculous, but I'm sure most of you know how it is to argue with a husband sometimes. In any event, I'm here and we will be there, and will be participating in the FE...and we can't wait! Thanks for understanding. (I will wear him down. I will.) Ha ha.

no worries - one cruise - on our meets thread one person had chatted with us for over a year but had failed to mention this to said spouse. so come cruise we were all told to keep quiet! It worked out great and her DH ended up loving everyone and we have all met several times at WDW since and he has allowed pics to be posted!!

The crown is nothing special...got them at Michael's....headband with a crown that sticks up in pink, she can decide if she wants one or not - also I have some princess sashes....too!!

Aimathy and Miksilver (Sorry....having a "blank" on real names right now...): Adam's weird about name stuff as well, but he used to do bank computer security for a living so I guess I kind of understand. Like I told Indigo awhile back, do what's best for you and your family! That's all that really matters!

I just have to say that I can't wait to get somewhere warm for a week! It's in the 50 and 60 degree range, but very very damp which is annoying...

Lynsey... Your schedule looks great and our family has no problem with listing names, etc.

Are there any that would be interested in company just drinking coffee and talking in the early am? I know my DH will be doing just that, somewhere... waiting for the rest of us to get ourselves together for breakfast. He eats very often during the day so I imagine he will get a "bite" to go with his coffee and eat breakfast with us. Any other diabetics in the group? Any other smokers? Although we all know he shouldn't for LOTS of reasons he still sneaks one a few times a day...

Don't worry about wardrobe girls... We will all be doing our own thing, I am sure! The only reason we are forcing the dress up issue is to hopefully get some good family pictures. We had some from Amanda's wedding but I was so exhusted I really looked BAD! Although Bob wore a suit daily for years he hates to now... Maybe that is why...

Forgot to mention that we all got our cruise docs... well, all except mom. Maybe I forgot to book them after all Just Kidding. I will say she's feeling very left out since all her kids got theirs and at 3 different locations. Poor mom.
