~~~ May 16, 2009 ~~~ Western Magic ~~~
I just called and they said our docs were sent out on Saturday so we should be getting them this week!!!
Sonya - I guess that means we won't be seeing much of you on the boards???
Amanda - Glad you got it. What are you ordering?
I LIKE this being off on a weekday - getting SO much done!!
Jane
Swimsuits, I think.
I need a bathing suit with a little upper support. I bought a speedo from costco. Really cute, but dips down a bit to low in the front.
For all you ladies who wanted big ****s... it's not always a blessing. :rotfl:
...I'm taking him to see the on-call doc this afternoon @ 1:15. :worried:
I hope his appointment goes ok, I'm sure it will. :goodvibes
First our cruise docs have arrived - I am extremely impressed at the speed they have got them over the pond!!
Congrats :banana:!
AND MOST IMPORTANTLY - THE TWILIGHT SEQUELS HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!!! Excuse me while I go and bury me head in them now!!
I just started reading the first book. A coworker let me borrow hers and it's really good. I have been reading it while on the elliptical machine. It helps the time pass by quickly!
Got the birthday. Ok, I have to fess up, First I have to say I really don't think much about how old I am. Well, Jim and I were talking a while ago (when he started reading this thread) and he burst my bubble. He said "Hon, I hate to tell you but you're not 45 and I'm not 47, your going to be 47 and I'm 49" Opps!! :laughing::rotfl:
LOL, I won't tell if you don't tell!
:cool1::banana::yay:I'm OFF TODAY!!!! I have a full list of to do's but I'm taking a few minutes to drink some tea and catch up on the boards.
Jane
Congrats on being off!......I wish I were!
We're fans of Jeff Dunham too! I've seen his act live when we lived in Pittsburgh. Peanut is great, but I'm always partial to the Jalepeno on a Stick -- too funny.
I've been working on my iPod as well. For xmas I received an iPod Touch as a corporate gift and have finally worked my way to messing around with it. I've downloaded a bunch of game applications to play. I was wondering about the movies too. I haven't put a dvd in my computer yet -- I'll have to try it out.
Val-- I hope your son's ok.
I didn't look at this thread for a day and it's just zooming by. Love it, though!
About the travel documents. I just received a UPS notification from my TA saying that my documents are in the mail 2nd day air. They are on the way -- yeah :cool1:
I ordered a baggallini bag for the trip and got that today as well. It's really cool. I never heard of baggallini until I read about them in all the themepark threads. It's an awesome bag. It's a little bit bigger than I expected but it should work out great for WDW and the times I might need it on the cruise ship. It's the uptown bag in the giraffe print. Loves me some animal print ;).
We ordered the Baggallini messenger bag and we love it. Can't wait to get the chance to use it on the cruise. :banana:
Val: Hope the appointment goes well today. All you really need to know is whether or not it IS a hernia! Even though insurance doesn't always cover pre-existing conditions, it's not like the travel insurance will call your normal doc to see if he has/had a hernia! Plus, the odds of incarceration in children are extremely low and if it happened I could likely reduce it with the help of some good drugs (without traumatizing Lennon at all)! So... get the confirmation today (and maybe a surgical appointment) but don't worry too much!
Shawan: I'm with you. I figure we'll get ours after DU gets them and forwards them to us... That's what happened the last time we used a TA, only the TA held them up forever (and was thus never used by us again)! DU is known to be great, so I wouldn't expect any problems!
Amanda--sounds like a great surprise for Jason! I'm sure it was a blast "kidnapping" him!! :rotfl2:
*sigh* I think Lennon might have an inguinal hernia. :scared: I noticed it the other day but didn't check it out like I should have (bad mommy, I know). Justin was trying to reassure me that night that nothing was out of the ordinary just by looking at him. But tonight after shower, I checked, and something is definitely not right. I'm going to try to get him in to see his pediatrician tomorrow (fingers crossed that she's not too busy). It's so close to the cruise that if surgery is recommended, I hope it can be done ASAP so he's as close to normal as possible by cruise time...or do we wait until after the cruise? Cinda--what would you suggest? I'm wanting to go into the doc with somewhat of a plan so it's not all just a quick decision if it does end up being a hernia. Also, Cinda, do you personally perform hernia repairs on children? I'm only wondering because I have a neighbor who is a general surgeon (but don't know if generals operate on kids), and I also have a classmate from high school who is a gastroenterologist (100 miles away, though), so I'm already trying to think everything through and trying to decide whom I would want him to be referred to...or would a pediatric gastroenterologist be the best choice. (The closest is 150 miles away.) I'd really appreciate some info/input on this, if you don't mind. PM me if you prefer. This is not what I'm wanting to be thinking about right now. :sad2: I'm hoping I'm just totally overreacting and that in all actuality it's really just nothing, but I tend to know too much since I'm in the medical field. :worried:
I am SO sorry!! I hope he feels ok and this can be handled.
I had a hernia surgery last year...except it was Rectocele. (Most women get it from child birth I guess...not me!) I spent 2 days in the hospital and 2 weeks in bed, then I was doing really well!!
So if he has to get surgery do it ASAP, cause about 3 weeks will be good for his recovery.
Sending wishes your way!!!!!!!!
:welcome: to Lucky1 whom I found on the main thread and invited to join our cruise thread! Just booked last minute also!
Thanks. Just started reading this thread. We booked on Saturday at a whim for a Cat 12 room. Myself, DH and DD(7). Just checked and no room assignment yet. Will not participate in the FE given no time to even consider anything and just figured out what that even is last week.
Now just trying to calm DH down as to he is not to excited about Formal night or Semi-Formal night for that matter. (SAHD, who doesn't own a suit or tie).
We are really last minute. DD passport is expected to arrive 5/6 (according to the state department) My renewal is still in limbo (according to the state department not having record of it), but will use Birth certificate + Marriage Certificate if necesary.
Have not even layed out anything for packing.
Booked Hyatt for the night before and got a deal on flights, so at least we are closed on that. Booked so last minute DCL would not do our flights.
]hi everyone hope your all doing well.
Hi Everyone!
I'm Amanda's Sister-in-law and Carole Ann's Daughter-in-law. I'm excited to be going on the cruise and can't wait.
Alison
I'm posting a family photo for Ali since she can't yet...
Rob (35), Alison (35), Bobby (8), Adam (6)
This was taken at my wedding.
I just checked it out and read two threads that are not cool
1) Disney has changed the menus on the Wonder & everyone HATES the foods. The reviews are awful. They plan to change them on the Magic as well, but thank God not til June! I'm sure if everyone is complaining they can't make the changes...
2) Disney has put in effect a new policy about booking excursions. Apparently someone on the Board just called Chankanaab to book directly with them for the dolphin discovery (saving $200 over Disney) & everything was all good until they mentioned the Disney Cruise & then they were not allowed to book. They said that Disney has a new policy that none of their guests can book directly with the location & MUST book via Disney (and Pay $200 more)!!!
One DISer is super upset because Disney wont allow younger kids under 5 to participate & the park does so they were going to book with the park, but no go.
We received our boarding passes in the mail today.
Hi Ali, I live in McLean, too. And I have 2 sons as you do, but they are teenagers and think they are too old for a Disney cruise, so hubby and boys are not going. I am meeting my sister and my nieces, who live in Connecticut. Hope we have good cruise weather--it is sure yucky today in McLean! Take care, Barbara
That sucks...I think you should be able to book your excursions directly if it works better for the customer. What does that say about their customer service?
Hi Barbara!
Things are yucky today. My kids are excited and keep counting the weeks until we go. We live really close to Kirby/Idlewood Road so we are really on the border of McLean and Falls Church. Luckily, everyone in my family (Amanda, Mom, etc) only live about 10 minutes away.
How old are your nieces? Maybe the kids can get together to play.
