Ok, I think I figured it out finally...

Not too spectacular but it will do the trick...

Looks great!!:thumbsup2

My DH is not wearing a tux on formal night - he'll wear a suit that night and I bought a formal dress. I've ordered a little jacket for Joel to wear with a white dress shirt/khaki pants and a tie.
On the semi-formal night, I'll wear a dress with sandals and he'll wear a shirt/tie/slacks but probably not a jacket. I was able to find a couple of those dresses that you can roll up and they don't wrinkle, so I'll bring those for dinners. They'll be easy to pack.

Hi Sara! It sounds like Dennis will be dressed like Yoni. I don't have a formal dress to wear but do have something pretty dressy so may just go with that.

I do have a question on dressing for dinner....are capris for women allowed? I am trying to get a handle on what I will wear the non-formal and non-pirate nights. I am assuming for pirate night, capris with my pirate gear are just fine but how about capris on other nights? Also -- PALO brunch -- do you have to dress up for that?

Jane -- it looks GREAT! We don't have one but told Sabrina it is only FIVE weeks until we leave for WDW today! Eeep!!!! I see a serious diet coming on after MIL leaves!!! Maybe after taxes I will get one created. Those darn taxes.....

My BFF didn't get to see it either, so she watched it on youtube this morning, so I know it's out there!!

Val -- I missed it too so googled it and found the entire clip on some news site. He was GREAT! Yes, I was happy with the results and would have been shocked if Scott had been saved. It is getting better and better!!!

Yeah! I hope you are seriously leaning on the dolphin excursion!

I thought you guys were going to do the stingray thing on CC! I know the kids have to be 5 because I looked into that. I wonder how that excursion compares to going on Grand Cayman at Stingray City.

Kym -- TOOOOOOO Funny! You remember my excursions better than I do! You are right, we are doing the stingray thing (without Kai) at CC. I better remember when we are there! I just read a TR where they went to the Dolphin Excursion (actually they did the Dolphin Adventure thing) and I just know Sabrina would LOVE it. Still need to work on Yoni and the available times are kind of chasing me away. I'll check into again today....

Shawan, you asked me if the shoes I got were the water shoes and YES, they are. They are very very comfortable. I normally wear a 9 1/2 and ordered a 9. I wouldn't say they are big but they certainly aren't tight. With socks they will fit perfectly and I think once my foot is wet, they will be perfect without it too (not to mention swelling for the sun/alcohol/etc....). I got the white ones and they are cute!!! I will still wear my high-heeled Crocs on the boat (how could you not?) when we lounge by the pool but I think these will work better for our little water excursions.

Nick -- Thank you for protecting our country. Was thinking that yesterday when you said you were playing in the mud. You have a great attitude and cant wait to meet you and thank you and your family in person!!!

Lynsey -- I am with you, am going to start laying by the pool this weekend. I need a good solid base tan so I don't burn on the cruise AND, well, any kind of tan makes your legs look 10x better!!!!

I can't wait for the pool to get warmer so we can go into the pool and practice snorkeling (yes, I don't know how to snorkel -- remember I just learned to swim!)

Anyone have big plans for Easter? We are going to my Mom's house and meeting up with my Sisters and their families (everyone lives within 4 miles of each other) and having brunch and an egg hunt there. Unfortunately it looksl ike RAIN so it will have to be an indoor hunt.

For all of you expert cruisers -- any ideas on what I can put in the kid's easter baskets for the cruise that won't take up a ton of space? I already got them snorkel gear (and they were with me) & new swimsuits. Is there anything else you guys can think of? Would love some ideas. I am off tomorrow so plan on shopping all day.

Alright -- I have a BIG deadline with work today so hopefully I can stay away from the DIS boards until my project is done......

Have a good day everyone!!!!

Jane: Your countdown calendar looks great!

Kym: This will be our 3rd time at Grand Cayman. We went to Stingray City, the Turtle Farm, Hell, etc. the first time and snorkelled Eden Rock (just to the right of the tender dock with ship in view) the second. Cemetary Beach is at the far end of 7 Mile Beach as I understand it. There is also the Cali Shipwreck, Cheeseburger Reef, and one other area on the way back towards the ship. They are marked by landmarks (Burger King is Cheeseburger Reef, the Cali Wreck is at a dive shop, etc.). There is a website detailing these areas which I plan to print out and take with us.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I was wondering the same thing. I would think slacks capris (as opposed to denim) would be fine. My office is business casual, and in the summer slacks capris count as business casual.

While on this topic, what about those skirts that have shorts underneath? So they look like a skirt in the front and back, but they are in reality shorts. I don't see how anyone would know the difference unless they peeked underneath!

And we never talk about shoes - are fancy flip-flops okay? I don't see a real difference between those strappy dress heels and a pair of fancy flip-flops, do you? Those fancy flip-flops are frequently worn by the women at my work in the summer and it's completely acceptable.

We're pretty well packed except for our non-clothing items. If it weren't for our formal, semi-formal, and costumes (plus shoes) all of us would be able to get by with one carry on!

Here it is as promised. This is my first attempt at posting a picture on the Dis.

You can't make out Chris' shirt that well from that angle but it reads, "Bee Keeper". The back of my shirt also said, "Queen Bee". There was a lot of being buzzed at during the night...

Great family pic!!!!! :thumbsup2

Last time, I wore a combination of black slacks, khaki pants, and khaki capris during the casual nights. I'm considering even bringing my denim gauchos since jeans are now permitted in the dining rooms, but I'll probably still stick to just the slacks & pants.

I would think they would be okay...you're not planning on showing us that they're skorts, though, are you?!?! :lmao:

I was really wondering about this last time, too, so I'll try to find a pic of my favorite summer sandals that I wore with the capris & khaki pants. They're leather Born sandals with a toe strap, so they're not like the $2 Walmart flip-flops or anything.

They must be too "outdated" because I can't find a pic of them anymore!! They're very similar to this but the top of them isn't all one piece like this. It has a separate toe strap from the part that goes over the instep.

Maybe I'll just have to take a picture of them on my own feet!

YAY!!! GREAT PIC!!! It's so easy to post it, isn't it?!?! I put it on post #2 for you!! BTW, great costumes!! Justin & I went as Queen Bee & Worker Bee a few years ago. FUN!!

Thanks for defending the good ol USA.
I'm thinking Nick is actually Canadian (if I remember right--oh, yes, I just looked on post #2, duh), but still...THANK YOU for protecting our wonderful Canadian friends! :thumbsup2 We have quite a few of them on our cruise!!

ha

yes i am canadian, but still im always training with the yanks. actually this ex there are about 500 of them.

if everything holds up im slatted to go to afgan in early 2010.

I love love love these costumes!!!

Nick -- say it isn't so! Here's hoping things change before 2010!

Kim -- LOVE the picture & the costumes! How fun!!!!

Val -- cute sandals! They look comfy. I can tell you are tall -- at 5'5" (on a proud day at that), I almost ALWAYS wear heels in an effort to look taller and maybe even a bit slimmer??? :rotfl:

I am thinking since a lot of us are sitting together and capris seem to work for everyone, I may be ok with that so going to plan on it!!!!!:thumbsup2

I am not a "dress" type of girl -- wear slacks most of the time, so the 2 or 3 dresses you will see me in will be difficult already!!!! I am going to count on Capris (nice ones of course) the rest of the time! :)

I'm going to have to step up my game & check the boards at least twice a day. Everytime I get on here I'm a few pages behind.

My hubby will be wearing a suit for formal & semi-formal nights. Not sure what I'm wearing yet... depends on if I can lose any lbs before then. Let's hope so. I had a grand plan of losing a good bit before the cruise, but life got in the way. LOL

Anyone know about what classes are offered in the gym? I've love to go.

Hi Everyone!
I can't believe how soon our cruise is coming up! :) I know this has been answered more than once, but I can't seem to find the old post for it....but how many FE gifts do we need? How many kids/adults? I'm trying to get this done asap and couldn't find the info. Thanks!!

Jane should have sent you an updated list. Their are 37 cabins. If you need # for people i think its 111. Men 39,Women 41, Girls 14 and boys 16 if i recall.

Your all's outfits were soooooo cute!

I'm planning on brining a black pair of capris that I will probably use on pirate night and maybe for palo brunch. I'd like to get a new khaki pair but can't seem to find any that fit just right.

Thanks on all of the comments about the Halloween outfits. I worked pretty hard on them. I also had to make two more bee shirts like mine for Chris' parents. It was a lot of time and black fabric paint. I also made the headbands but did not have my FIL wear one . They were only for the girls. My MIL was the "honey bee" and my FIL was the "worker bee". The best thing about them is that they were just t-shirts. I wanted a simple, wear in the heat and humidty costume.

And I for one am all about the capri's on a cruise. There hasn't been a cruise that I've been on that I didn't wear capri's at some point to dinner. All casual nights I'll have capri's and a nice shirt on. I also have a nice pair of black patent strappy flat sandals that I like to wear. They are lightweight and easy to pack, yet dressy all at the same time. I think they were about $10 at Target. Gotta love those bargains!

My BFF didn't get to see it either, so she watched it on youtube this morning, so I know it's out there!!

BTW, I'm happy with the results tonight. From here on out, though, it's going to be tough decisions. ::yes::

I know what you mean. We have a fairly new video camera that we can't seem to get the videos downloaded from. Our time is running out on getting it figured out before we leave!!! :scared:
I watched the video on the AI website but they didn't show the judges comments. Didn't think to check out other sites. I totally agree with the decision. I really liked Scott, but he's just not as talented a singer as some of the others. For all of you AI watchers - who's your favorite? I go between Danny, Kris and Matt although Adam has been doing really well (I just did not like the screaming rocker version of the country song he did a couple of weeks ago).

We finally figured out how to download the pics (needed to install a program on the computer) but it isn't really easy to dump them onto the hard drive. Guess I'm glad that we figured it out before we left. Now I just have to figure out all that the camera does. I was fiddling with some buttons and got a heart frame on a picture and I have NO idea how that happened, nor do I know how to make it happen again.

Hi Sara! It sounds like Dennis will be dressed like Yoni. I don't have a formal dress to wear but do have something pretty dressy so may just go with that. I'm going to probably wear the same thing to brunch as I'll wear for Semi-Formal night. I just have to pray that I don't spill anything.

I was planning on wearing capris for all the casual nights (nice ones but capris none the less)

Lynsey -- I am with you, am going to start laying by the pool this weekend. I need a good solid base tan so I don't burn on the cruise AND, well, any kind of tan makes your legs look 10x better!!!! If I were to sit out I'd just turn red. I'm building color by using the good old lotion in a tube. Just a little ever couple of days (heck I still look lilly white which is pretty scary that I've actually done the sunless tanning stuff for more than a week).

Anyone have big plans for Easter? We are going to my Mom's house and meeting up with my Sisters and their families (everyone lives within 4 miles of each other) and having brunch and an egg hunt there. Unfortunately it looksl ike RAIN so it will have to be an indoor hunt. Were having my Mom and brother over for dinner, but our days of hidding eggs are long over. Of course everyone still expects some candy filled baskets. Guess I better get shopping.

I'm not a seasoned cruiser but how about sunglasses with cords to keep them on (I know they are called something but I cant think of the exact name) or maybe non-electronic travel games (

Alright -- I have a BIG deadline with work today so hopefully I can stay away from the DIS boards until my project is done......

Have a good day everyone!!!!

Great picture! Love the costume idea. May have to remember that for possible future uses.

Ok, how about thanks for defending North America? I hope things turn around and you don't have to go in 2010.

Jane should have sent you an updated list. Their are 37 cabins. If you need # for people i think its 111. Men 39,Women 41, Girls 14 and boys 16 if i recall.
Crystal thanks for getting this for me earlier (I can't check the boards at work). I'll send the spreadsheet to you again tonight, but the actual count is 107, Men 38, Women 40, Girls 14 and Boys 16.

And I for one am all about the capri's on a cruise. There hasn't been a cruise that I've been on that I didn't wear capri's at some point to dinner. Every single evening outfit of mine HAS to coordinate with the one pair of black sandals that I'm bringing. I WISH they were only $10. Normally I bring along a pair of fancy flip flops with me when I travel that I bought at WalMart for $5 as I was running to get a pedicure. They have been lifesavers on more than one occasion. Hmmm...maybe I should add them to the list.

Val - I keep forgetting to tell you we are linked with Andy and Ashley and Belinda and Shawn. We've requested the 8:00pm seating.

1. I always put Disney Dollars in the plastic eggs I hide for Carissa. The Disney Dollars can be used to pay your shipboard account (since it's a cashless system). OR I can put the DD directly onto her KTTW card so she has her own money to spend.

2. Disposable cameras (regular & underwater) so the she can take her own pictures.

3. This year Carissa is getting a 2bg music player for Easter. I loaded it with her music so she can take it with her and use it on the plane or the ship.

Hello there,

I am hoping to start working on our door magnets, I have seen a few posts here on the Dis of graphics, where else is a good site? Or are their posts with a lot of different graphics??
Thank you
Kristin1
