~~~ May 16, 2009 ~~~ Western Magic ~~~
What movies will be playing on our voyage? You can call 888-325-2500, choose the reservations option, then ask what movies will be showing the week you cruise.
I am not sure, I tried to look up what movies would be new in May and the only thing I really saw was Angels and Demons - which I would like to see but not sure if dcl would show it.
has everyone made hotel reservations for the night before? would anyone be interested in trying for a group rate at the radisson? I am not sure how many rooms are needed to be booked.
I was just wondering earlier this week if there were any tricks to getting a discount at the Radisson (like the Hotwire deal for Hyatt @ MCO) before I book it. I would be interested (two rooms). Booking it on the website gave me a price of something like $103ish per night.
I'm hoping to get back into planning mode by tomorrow. I was sick on Tuesday and couldn't even get off the couch all day, and it really threw my week off. I'm trying to get ready for my Pampered Chef party tonight, so once that's out of the way, I'll be in OCDCLPM (Obsessive-Compulsive Disney Cruise Line Planning Mode)!!! :rotfl2:
here is the group rate:
Hi Vanessa,
Usually it is a minimum of 10 rooms booked but, as I mentioned I will be flexible.
I can quote a rate of $99.00 per room, plus 11% tax.
We also have two room whirlpool suites ( they are great !) for $139.00.
Let me know.
Thanks and regards, stan
what are everyone's excursion plans?
cozumel - we hired a driver for the day to go all around and then end up at Paradise Beach, cab back to the ship
grand cayman - rays, reef and rum point snorkel trip.
castaway cay - lazy beach day, may rent bikes
key west - I am unsure here....still deciding.
what are everyone's excursion plans?
KW--electric car for FKLP tour :thumbsup2
GC--stay onboard & enjoy the emtpy ship!
Coz--stay onboard & enjoy the empty ship!
CC--stay onboard & enjoy the empty ship! Oh, wait!!! NO!! Sorry...I just got on a roll. :rotfl2: Maybe stingrays, maybe bikes, maybe just beach. We're not real sure yet.
KW- Walk around and enjoy the area! (this is the place we are most looking forword to)
GC- We are def doing the "Grand Cayman Island Tour" (2 hours) (turtle fram!!)
Coz- We are thinking of "Tropical Jeep Safari Tour":drive: (4-4.5 hours), or
Ocean View Explorer Tour (1.5-2 hours)
CC- A great day of sunshine!:beach: maybe rent 2 bikes and do a bit of discovering!:moped:
If anyone has done any of these ^^^ Let me know how it went!! :thumbsup2
Val - do you not like Grand Cayman and Cozumel?
Justin and I liked them, but the boys could care less! :sad2: They had a hard time leaving the ship every time we got off, and they complained nonstop about wanting to go back to the Mickey pool or that their feet hurt from walking so much. :rolleyes2 I'm sure it would be different this time since they're a little older, but we're basically going for the cruise & for the Disney experience and not necessarily for the ports. Plus we'll be saving $ by not doing any excursions. (Since the ports didn't really matter to us, the reason why we decided to do the Western again was because we wanted the FLKP again!) :rotfl2:
Really, I'm not :snooty: ! :rotfl: It's all to please the kids... :grouphug:
KW - Parasail w/Fury Water Adventures and/or Pirate Museum
GC - Wave Runner Stingray City Adventure
Coz - Playa Uvas Clear Kayak & Snorkel Tour
CC - Beach Day, rent floats, etc
that sounds great! so much of what a cruise is about, being able to do what you want! I would be happy with beach days everyday, but I also would love to learn a little of each ports history, etc.
;
Cozumel - Renting a VW convertible and driving to the East coast side. Eating at one of the local seafood places.
Grand Cayman - rays, reef and rum point snorkel trip with Native Way tours
Castaway Cay - not sure just relaxing.
Key West - Walk and shop and eat (Key Lime Pie in all of its wonderful forms). We will probably just walk from the ship to the Southern most point and back, shopping and eating along the way.
I need to be looking into excursions. I usaully overplan. This will be a revisit to all ports for DH and I. None of our kids have been to these places, so I need some input from them, considering they are adults. We usually go with independant tours. But I am thinking with the grandbabies, ages 4 and 9 months at cruising time, I might need to reconsider.
I'm fine with the Radisson Lillygator, but can't tell you for sure until about March 1. We aren't sure if Adam will work on Friday or not, which determines if we drive or fly... We will know by then though, so I'll jsut have to accept a higher room price if necessary. I can say that as long as we arrive sometime on Friday, we WILL be staying at the Radisson!
As for excursions (I think I posted this pages ago...):
1. Key West: Maybe rent an electric car, get some FKLP, and do the "pirate lunch" if it gets arranged!
2. Grand Cayman: Considering a wave runner snorkel tour though private vendor, otherwise nothing structured.
3. Cozumel: Definitely doing a private vendor dune buggy tour or either the other "extreme" buggy tour. We'll be the muddy people getting back on the boat!
4. CC: Hanging out. Nothing structured unless the bannana boat were to reappear! (We LOVE bannana boats!)
All of this is subject to change, but the dune buggies are my DH's favorite thing. So, we're stuck there!
sounds good!! between me and my mom we have two rooms so I guess we would need 8 more. Keep in mind they have breakfast and free parking if you are driving over!
