~~~ May 16, 2009 ~~~ Western Magic ~~~
I've also been slow to love Crocs, I have really flat feet and it's hard for me to find shoes I just love. The only pair I have is the Cleo, but I was looking on their website and found some super cute ones. I love the one's you posted too. I'm tempted to get a new pair that could pass as "cruise casual" for night dining.
If you do end up getting the Cyprus, let me know how they fit...I have a skinny foot and sometimes crocs are better suited for normal or wide feet. I am worried my foot will slip around. I think they would definitely work in the dining room for cruise casual.
This is a great shopping list - I vote for the crocs, they actually have a size chart that you can print out and make sure you order the right fit.
I guess I should start thinking about things we need. I need to lose some weight - so the clothes in my closet will fit me by May. :rolleyes1
I saw the size chart, but I have a really wide foot, so I'm just leary about buying them online just to have to ship them back. I found out that there is a Croc outlet store about 45 minutes away. I may just drive up to the outlets one weekend to check it out.
Hi Everyone!
I am sorta a new member to the DIS Boards, (I joined back in 2007 and I was in the Disney Dream Job Contest- yes I was one of the winners Princess In Waiting)
My husband and I just just booked a Disney Cruise for May 16th! We are very exciting.
This will be my 4th Disney Cruise (1 Eastern, 2 Western). I can not wait to go again, I have always felt so at home on the Magic. This will be my husbands 1st Disney cruise (2nd cruise overall). We will be celebrating our 5 yr Wedding anniversary!
It'll be great to get to know some of you before we go. Its going to take a while for me to catch up on all your conversations.
Let me know if anyone needs tips since I've been on Western 2 times before.
Thanks!
Princess JorDanrella
Welcome to our cruise and congratulations on 5 years!
The FE will be on Cabin #5640 for all 4 of us. Magnets will be on both doors though!!!!
I would love to get the FE list e-mailed to me please; minniemmom@embarqmail.com
Thanks so much!
I've added your room number to the list and will add you to the distribution list. I'll be sending out an updated list later tonight.
We have been hearing on the news here that the US State Department are warning College Spring Breakers to skip Mexico due to bloody wars that have involved kidnapped Americans. :scared1:
"The U.S. State Department and universities around the country are warning college students headed for Mexico for some spring-break partying of a surge in drug-related murder and mayhem south of the border."
"Mexico's drug cartels are waging a bloody fight among themselves for smuggling routes and against government forces, carrying out massacres and dumping beheaded bodies in the streets. More than 6,000 people were killed in drug violence in Mexico last year."
If it's really that bad & has spilled over in to Cozumel, would Disney still travel there????
We may just stay on the ship if it gets much worst.
I'm sure that if there are any issues that Disney wont dock. They wouldn't want anything to happen to one of their cruisers (and the publicity that would follow).
Jane, I think I just came across those quick dry shirts that you were wondering aobut. I think they're on that TR!! I'm just getting to their first day at the pool and the older boys are wearing them.
I knew I saw it somewhere. I just need to find out what they are called and where to get them.
Mine is black as well!!! I have some new black strappy shoes I want to wear so need to match them up. This is what I have gone for - knee length rather than full length. If this link doesn't work I will try upload the photo properly tomorrow when I have more time! Its quite sweet - it has one strap that it made of flowers which looks quite sweet.
There are a few places that sell Crocs in the Uk - they are dearer than in the US, but when you take international p&p into account it just about evens up. My caymans are disney ones that I got from Orlando. Those heeled ones are great!
Now off to bed - start my new job tomorrow! Good luck with the diet!
VERY cute dress!
Good luck on your new job.
I went out today and had a really successful shopping trip. Found some pirate themed goodie bags to put my FE gifts in. Guess I'll be droping them off on Pirate day. I also found a shirt for me for Pirate night that sort of matches Jim's polo (black and grey striped shirt). I figure I'll add a iron on decal of something pirate.
I also found some pre-made knapsacks that I'm going to modify into my FE. I was going to buy material, but these were $1 so I just bought an extra one so I can use it to make the flap. :banana: and all i need to do is decorate it.
I then went to Burlington Coat Factory and found a dress that I'm thinking of using for our anniversary (remember I NEVER wear dresses so it would be a really big surprise to Jim) and then again at Palo. Best of all it was $30!!!! The only thing I'm worried about is that the dress is lined and I'm afraid it will be too hot. I have 30 days to decide and return it if I decide against it.
I bought a 25' roll of magnetic tape at Joann's. It was priced at $5.99 but I had a 40% off coupon. Yipee! Now I just need to decide if I'm going to personalize them all. For all you former cruisers - have you had any problems with your magnets getting taken?
Have a great week everyone!
J
Definitely go and try them on if you have a store close to you - I will say that most crocs are built for people wide feet so you may find that they are quite comfortable...there are only a few models that are more narrow. Let us know if you get some!
Hope you have a great week too - your shopping sounds like it was fun today.
I am really really tired but wanted to pop in and say, Sonya -- the dress is FABULOUS!!!! Good luck at the job tomorrow.
I have heeled Crocs but only because I found them on clearance at Dillard's ($18!). Those are super cute...I may just need another pair!
Goodnight all -- have a good Monday!
Sonya--you have me intrigued by your comment on the main board about Disney doing something to annoy you! Do tell!! ;) (BTW, I absolutely LOVE your dress!!! WTG!! And good luck with the new job, too!)
Hi everyone!! :goodvibes
The DFiance and I will be joining you guys!
We're in our early 30's and this will be our 1st cruise!!! We're also celebrating our 10th Anniversary together!!
Since this is our 1st cruise we can't book until 75 days out which I thought was tonight?? We are on the West coast so I thought I could log in at 9pm which is 12est but no luck. Am I a day to early?
It's a bummer that not a lot of folks get into it. I have friends who have offered to loan us outfits. Haven't thought about luggage yet. We are flying Southwest which still allows 2 bags pp at no charge so I think we are ok. Of course we have to fit it all into the cabin.
I will probably be the only one eating the pie. I am guessing the kids will want to try it (it is dipped in chocolate after all) but give up after the lime? We'll see.
WE have a villa booked --- should we have booked it during a sunset? Right now we have it booked on a sea day morning but the sunset -- that sounds NICE!!!
Ok, so goals for this week:
1. Buy Travel insurance
2. Figure out the transportation options
3. Square away reservations for dinner/kids at the Swan
4. Buy FE gifts.
Sounds do-able!
Good luck to everyone who is booking tonight!!!!!
Mati
Try packing 4 people into suitcases on American which charges for the first bag (and BOTH ways)! So we have to tack on that expense. It's hard to take pirate stuff, formal wear, clothes, and then I surprise my girls with a little something everyday from a character. I always ship a box to the ship. We also travel with 2 carseat bags! We have to pay $1500.00 extra for a verandah just to store our carseats!:rotfl2:
WHAT?!?! NO KLP?!?! ARE YOU SURE?!?! Believe me, I was one of hte most reluctant people to try it (don't like lime), but Justin "forced" it on me, which is strange because his sweet tooth is SO SMALL compared to mine (it barely fits in my big mouth! :laughing: ), but it was one of the best things EVER! My kids are so picky, but they loved it! It doesn't taste like lime at all. It's like cheesecake!!
Makes me want to do it!! We're probably all trying to reserve it for hte same time now! :rotfl:
i'll see if I can find a link again. It's hard to search for because a) there's a medication with that name, too, so that comes up first on a search, and b) they're not very readily available. I should look at Walmart sometime to see if they ahve them. Otherwise, I could probably get a bunch at Menards and bring them with us to give out at the terminal or wherever we meet up at.
I wonder if this means our cruise isn't filling up. :confused: I've been checking the prices of our cruise to see if they're going up as more people book, but it's still the same price (for cat 8 anyway) as the day we booked it in Dec 2007. Maybe we're the only ones on the ship!! :banana:
Here's a link to a post that I did awhile ago before most people found our thread (2nd paragraph). Just imagine if this were the case!! :rotfl2:
http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=23343626&postcount=23
Have we firgured out how we can get together on Key West to try the KLP with chocolate?
Would definitely do the villas again if my husband had a job! We are barely able to go on the cruise this year so can't splurge like that!
That would be great if you could find the link for the MagTabs. I'm curious about them!
I know there are a lot of rooms still available on deck 7. When I booked aout 3 weeks ago, I couldn't even write the rooms down fast enough as the Disney person read them off. Maybe that will mean upgrades for you guys!
I was slow to love Crocs, but then one day in Epcot my feet were butchered and I bought the Pink disney Mary Janes and all was right with the world. I just purchased these ones - the sueded alice - they are very comfortable and look really cool - not shiny:
http://shop.crocs.com/pc-454-0-sueded-alice.aspx?outlet=true
Love, love,love these shoes! I don't have a pair of crocs because the regular ones were just too big. I felt like a clown in them but these are CUTE!
Where is there a croc outlet? I see you are in CA. I am in the LA area (the western part of the valley).
Goodnight! How did everyone do with reservations tonight?
Kym
Val,
How do you multiquote within one persons quote? On the previous page, you responded to a lot of my quotes but you were able to break them up and answer each section separately. After hitting the multiquote, I know I can delete some of the stuff as long as the beginning and end have the
there. But how do you do that within the same persons text? Does this make any sense at all?:confused3
Thanks!
Welcome to our cruise. We have a great group of people. Are you trying to book your cruise or just book your reservations? You need to be booked and paid in full to be able to book your excursions, Palo and spa reservations.
Not Val, but I can answer the question. You just need to copy the "
name of poster said:
and make sure that is in front of each section (and make sure there is a "
" wherever you want the break.
Kym - I found the Croc outlet from this website: http://www.mallseeker.com/crocs.aspx
The one that is closest to us is in Vacaville. Martinez is about 40 miles east of San Francisco. It looks like SD is the only location in So Cal.
Hope everyone has a great week! Let us all know about your reservations.
We are in Southern California, about 40 minutes from Disneyland!! No, we don't have any kids but my 88 year old grandmother lives with us and it's basically the same thing. :rotfl:
Hmm, not sure why I'm not able to book. I'm pretty bummed since I have been planning my excursions and Palo night for months now.
Hi and thanks for the welcome!
Yes, we have been PIF for a while now. When I log in it just states my booking window in not open yet. I'm totally type A so I've been doing all my research and thought I had everything down right. :confused3
I had a hard time last night getting into the Disney reservation also. It kept saying there was a system problem. I finally got Palo on Thursday night at 7:00. There were no Brunch times left. I guess we will have to try to get the Brunch when we get on the ship.
<
I'll post some more of our info. We are from Utah, JorDan(me)-25 and Chad (30), no kids.
We booked Cat 12, so we won't know anything until 30 days before.
princess:
Another Cat 12, how many are we up to now? Surely some of us will get an upgrade, they can't put us all into 13 staterooms.
<
We are official, with one Palo dinner, one spa visit and a scuba and a highlights excursion in Cozumel. Now, can we just go get on board?:goodvibes
Have we firgured out how we can get together on Key West to try the KLP with chocolate?
Not yet. Any ideas? We had talked about getting a list of all the shops, so maybe we could still do that and then make up a map of some sort. :confused3
Would definitely do the villas again if my husband had a job! We are barely able to go on the cruise this year so can't splurge like that!
So sorry about him losing his job. This economy SUX!! :mad:
That would be great if you could find the link for the MagTabs. I'm curious about them!
Let me look back to find them. I also was at Wal-Mart this morning and looked for them there but didn't find them. What I did find was just round magnets (a lot thicker than the MagTabs and NOT reuseable) in a pkg of 18 for $0.77. It was in the kids craft area by the popsicle sticks, etc.
Maybe that will mean upgrades for you guys!
How SWEET would that be?!?! :goodvibes
Val,
How do you multiquote within one persons quote?
What I do is click on the multiquote for quoting several posts, and then when you click Post Reply, you'll see this (I'm breaking it up with a space so it doesn't actually quote it in my post):
will be at the beginning (which I usually copy so I can paste at the next section that I want to quote) and then make sure there's [/ quote] (no space) at the end. Then I delete any "extra" that I'm not quoting. I usually type the end quote part each time, but copy & paste for the first part makes it go a lot faster! HTH!
:welcome: to our cruise thread!! I'll add you and the other two new ones hopefully later today (and Jamie, I'll make the changes that you PM'ed me, too, as well as adedward's!). I better get to work before it gets too much later! :scared:
You're lucky you got that time! Thursday has been booked from 6-8:30 for sometime now! I could only get 9:00 a few days ago!
Welcome to our cruise!
Wow! The search feature actually worked (and quickly) this time!!! Here's a link to the MagTabs. http://www.containerstore.com/browse/Product.jhtml?CATID=69021&PRODID=69209
Thanks! I just looked and shipping was 8.50 for a 4.99 item! yikes! Are they heavy? There is a store about 45 minutes away so I might just have to make a trip. I like the magnetic tape that I've used the past few years because it's light but not removable. I like that these are removable!
Which direction are you? We are in West Hills, which is western San Fernando Valley! We are also about 40-60 minutes (on a good day) from Disneyland!
Were you able to get into reservations last night?
We're inland, Rancho Cucamonga! Near Ontario airport.
No! I wasn't able to book reserve anything!! I called DCL this morning and they weren't able to help me since I booked thru my regular travel agent. I called him right at 8am and they are looking into but still haven't called me back yet. I'm so disappointed since I really had taken so much time to prepare for my 75 days before and now it seems that someone else might have dropped the ball. All DCL would tell me was that they were blocked from looking at details since I booked thru someone else and that usually only happens when travel agencies haven't reported my status as PIF.
Of course now I have to go work out which I'm not in the mood for but on the upside I guess it's a great way to release all this tension. :headache:
