HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANE!!!!

Sonya,
Way to go, finishing the book. We all joked & said those books are like crack! I even got a guy (very jock guy) friend of mine to read them and from his point of view he said "No, Harry Potter is like crack, Twilight is like a good beer!" :rotfl:LOL:rotfl::lmao::lmao: I will say that he LOVED Midnight Sun the best! I'm excited for you to read the next one! Can't wait to chat about it on the ship.

About the morning walks..... can we lean more towards 8 or at least 7:30? I would love to join in, but as I've mentioned, I don't function very well at those hours. I'd also love to get my mom to join, but she's not a morning person either. Also, is this just on Sea days or all week? Just a request...

I hear you!! I just went nuts making magnets tonight and I witnessed my husband roll his eyes several times....so I reminded him of this:

Dead Men Tell No Tales....

and then made one of those magnets to serve as a stern reminder not to mess with me and my new found magnet-mania.

:cool2:

Sweet dreams everyone!!

That's awesome. My DH has learned by now just to go along with my Disney obsession. But...if he forgets I now have a great line to tell him. :rolleyes1

Yes, I took mine last time to GS & got it back Fri night in our stateroom. I'll probably do something very similar to last time. Here's a pic of mine from last time. I also bought the frame on the ship.
DSC_0131-1.jpg

Did you buy the mat on the ship as well or did you bring it with you? I want to do this for Chelsea but haven't gone shopping for it yet and don't quite know what to get.

Hey there. I just joined the site a moment ago. I've been reading all sorts of stuff like a madwoman today and I just found this thread. I'll be on this cruise, too! It will be our 1st Disney Cruise. 3rd Cruise ever. We'll be celebrating our Anniversary & my Birthday that week. We don't have children, so we'll be cruising adults only - at least chronologically speaking. :P We booked it not even 24 hours ago so I have a lot of catching up to do now! :woohoo:

WELCOME! :welcome: It's our 1st Disney cruise as well. What other cruises have you been on?

Ok so I stayed up past midnight last night to finish it. I LOVED IT!!!! OMG!!!! I cannot wait for the next 2 to be delivered!!!!

Welcome to the Twilight collective! They just get harder to put down from here...

Good Sunday morning everyone.

Nice to meet you to the new folks. I am mostly a lurker, but really enjoy following the conversation here. We also will be celebrating our anniversary (our 33rd) on this cruise (a few weeks early, the actual date is the first week in June).

33 years. That's quite an accomplishment. How wonderful.

:bday: Jane.

I didn't get my cruise doc.'s yet either. Once I read about fellow cruisers getting their docs I went out to my mailbox to check -- but nothing. It'll be nice to get cruise documents again. Royal Caribbean doesn't do paper documents anymore since everything's online. I've always enjoyed getting the hard copies. It makes it all seem more real and tangible. When it's just the e-docs I'm always concerned that I'm not in the system.

party::bday::cake: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JANE!! :cake::bday:party:

:welcome: to the DIS and especially :welcome: to THE BEST CRUISE THREAD EVER!!! :grouphug: I remember those "madwoman" days when I first found the DIS...it was 2 yrs ago when we booked our first & only cruise only 3 months before sail date--and I thought I was pushing my timeframe a bit!! Whew! Less than a month out--you've got GUTS, girl!!! I'm sure we'll all be very helpful getting you prepared to go on such short notice. Sooooo...are you expecting? I noticed the "little spark" reference and also the "chronologically" adults only. Just wondering...(if not, I apologize for assuming!)

Hudson&Lennon: Thanks, the photo was taken in Sicily two summers ago when our family went as a large group to visit with my sister's Sicilian in-laws. Our only real overseas trip to date, but what a trip. We have reserved a spot on the Sept 2010 westbound transatlantic Magic for our next big trip.
How awesome, Anne! I'd LOVE to travel like that. I know, I know...here we are going to all these awesome places like GC & Coz, and we're not even getting off the boat. :sad2: Maybe one of these days when the boys are older...

Motorcycle team: DH Frank doesn't have a Harley, but he does have a little Yamaha that he says to tell you: "eats Harleys and Kawasakis for breakfast."
 Right now, Justin is "chopping" a Yamaha XS650 and (I think) is planning on using the same engine but will soup it up a bit--cuz a stock motor just isn't powerful enough. :sad2: It was a total "disco bike"--1978ish. He has several names for it--Yammerhammer, Yamachopper, SuperGay, and others that are even more inappropriate to post here! (Besides, I'm not sure of the spelling since it's a Spanish slang word.) :rotfl2: Anyway, it's totally unrecognizable right now. For those of my FB friends, I think you can click on his name on my FB page to bring up his avatar, which is the day he got it running (and then started tearing it apart), and he was ripping around our neighborhood on it. :rolleyes2 He cut off the back of the frame and built a new rigid tail end for it, which he just tack welded on last weekend. He says it'll be pretty cool when he's done, but I still think his other custom bike (the red one) is still MUCH cooler! He's been posting his "work in progress" pix to his motorcycle forums that he's addicted to (like I'm addicted to the DIS!), so I'm sure I could pick a photo to post, if anyone wants, because there's tons of them that he's uploaded to our photobucket acct. Anyway, I got totally side tracked. He'll LOVE to talk ANY m/c with anyone. He obviously prefers customs & Harleys, but he's in love with this current project (the Yamaha) and has a secret desire to get a Honda dirtbike :rolleyes2 (we already have a handful of Honda Trail 70 bikes from the early 1970's), but he also has interest in Kawasakis because he (his business) designs & builds the machines that the Kawasaki plant in Nebraska uses to make wheel hubs, etc. He also has a Suzuki Hayabusa story to tell, if anyone wants to hear it. Okay, that's enough m/c talk for me...you'd think I was the one whose blood pumps chain lube, huh? :rotfl2:

I am mostly a lurker, but really enjoy following the conversation here. We also will be celebrating our anniversary (our 33rd) on this cruise (a few weeks early, the actual date is the first week in June).
Oh, Anne, you are not mostly a lurker! Look at how many posts you have!! BTW, I updated your anniversary info on #1&2 for you!

We also are thinking of trying for an upgrade at the port if there is a cheap one. DH is in the yacht building industry and most folks where he works (many hundreds) are already gone. I keep pretending that nothing is amiss, but really should stop spending unnecessary $ to upgrade vacations when things are so iffy.
Here's some pixiedust: for an upgrade and for Frank to keep his job!

Now I'm going to go check out the main cruise thread since I haven't been there in so long. :scared1: :sad2:

I think we should list it every day so we can each walk whenever it fits in with your personal schedule. Some days (sea days, etc.) there may be a big group, but if there's just 1 or 2 on port days, I think that would still be fine, too. I agree with the 7:30 or 8:00. Anything before that would be too early for me.

Anne--I forgot in my last post to say that you don't look old enough to be married 33 yrs!! :thumbsup2

For those that asked, I bought the signature mats at Walmart--$3.50 for the 11x14 (with 5x7 opening) and then I got another one that was $2.50 for an 8x10 (with 4x6 opening). They're in the frame area in the rack of mats. You'll definitely notice it because the plastic bag has words all over it saying how it can be used (birthdays, graduations, Disney cruises). I haven't decided yet which size to keep for myself and which size to surprise my parents with. :scratchin The one in the photo from last time is the 11x14 with 5x7 opening. I wish I had put the "info" on going the landscape layout, though. We had only about 2 or 3 pix to choose from to put in it when we got home. So this time, it'll go the other way.

NOW I'm off to the main cruise thread for awhile...

Hey neighbor!
We live right over the boarder from you; in Vernon, NJ! My nieces live in Dingmans!!!! If you've ever been to the Milford library you've probably me them! And we are leaving on the 14th as well! Maybe we'll see you on the road; what route do you take?

Wow what a small world. I bring my son to Mt. Creek all the time. Season passes he snow boards. He has friends their, so do i. My GF owns Pick up the pace gym.
We are gonna try rt.81 this trip,we usually head down 209 towards Stroudsburgh. Then toward Philly to I-95.So we are leaving around 5pm. We drive straight threw how about you guys? I hope to see you on route lol. Crystal,

Here's something else I found on the main thread for breakfast options:

  • Topsiders for buffet breakfast, approx hours vary, but 7.30am 10.30am, earlier on early port arrival.
  • Lumière's for sit down, Times vary, sometimes brunch, like Key West 9.am to 12 noon
  • Goofys galley for early Continental breakfast, say from 6am
  • Parrot Cay for buffet breakfast, approx 7.30/8am start
  • Room service, order times on card.
  • Pastries at Cove Cafe

My OCD needs to know stuff like this. :rotfl2:

Happy BirthDay Jane!:dance3:

Jordan,Nice to see you are up to 8 fingers working.

Cinda , I hope your foot heels.

Welcome to all new cruisers!

NOW I'm off to the main cruise thread for awhile...

Val - I am SO going to Wal-Mart today after Jake and I get back from a program at Purdue and get a few mats. Do you just leave them at guest services and ask for character signatures? (insert mom brag moment) Jake is majoring at Physics at Purdue (I'm the Math one in the family, I think he got the Science bug from Brian :)). His first semester last Fall he made the Dean's list after working his butt off. He finished HS 3rd in his class with a 4.07/4.00 GPA (he has a strong internal drive, I NEVER pushed him about grades, just asked him to do his best). They have a ceremony at Purdue and then each school has a reception. He wants tp do research on campus this summer, so the reception may be a good networking opportunity. I'll be back on the boards this afternoon :)! ~ Kathy

Wow, Kathy! I'd be bragging, too! WTG, Jake!! :thumbsup2

When I took mine to GS, they asked if I wanted the Fab5 or all the characters. I requested as many as they could fit on (since I had seen a post with one like that right before we cruised last time), so I was a little disappointed when it came back with so few sigs, but I grew to love it because now I think the other one looked too "busy." I'll see if I can round up that post from 2 yrs ago just so you can see the difference. I brought along Crayola fabric markers for them to use because I also had a Minnie shirt signed by Mickey & Minnie for my mom back home.

Hmmmm...I can't find that other one that made me decide to do it last time, but here's another one that I found with black sigs. I really like the DCL logo & Disney Magic that is on it. (I'll keep looking for the other one, too.)

I was wondering if there was anyone interested in Geocaching on Castaway Cay with ashley and I. We found 3 that are close enough to check out!!! And if someone wanted to join it would be super cool!!!!:thumbsup2

Thank you for all the warm welcomes. Happy Birthday to Jane!

Yes, it is kinda cool that I don't have to wait much, because that might drive me mad, but at the same time I gotta say this is just a little too last minute for me. lol I have so much planning to do and it's making my head spin! lol We had planned on spending our usual May Vacation week at the Pop Century, and although that requires planning too, obviously this one will be different, especially since I won't be less than 45 mins. from home! I have to find a Piratey Costume for me, since I've never gone as one. (Was a Princess at the Pirate Princess Party) and dig my husband's costume out from wherever I stashed it. Not mandatory, I know, but it wouldn't be like me to give up an opportunity to dress up silly. :D

I also want to make a door sign. It's my first, may as well make it as much fun as possible, I figure.

Oh, btw. My birthday is on the 21st of May (35 - ugh! :P) and our wedding Anniversary is on the 19th! (Hence the reason we typically make that our vacation week.) To make matters even crazier, my husband's birthday is May 5th and even my father's birthday is May 10th. I'll be running around WDW with him celebrating on two of the precious few days I have left to plan. lol And er, yeah, since I see it comes up here a lot too, there's always that incessant dieting/exercise thing to try to keep up with. I'm definitely a part of that club, too. ;)

I tried to post a picture of me with the Easter Bunnies from Epcot, since it's very recent, but it won't let me yet, due to low post count, so I'll have wait until it lets me.

Val--AKA--Hudson and Lennon's Mom. Thank you for your kind welcome, and all of the work you started on these boards. Sorry I am so late to the party--I did not know this "cruise specific" forum existed. Here are some photos, so you can recognize us.

First, Mary Ellen and I at WDW last year--we are sisters and best buddies.

Disney_Jan_08_-_102A.jpg

Can you guess where we are standing?

Second, my three nieces. The oldest one, on the left, won't be joining us, because she thinks (okay, correctly, I have to concede) that her high school prom is very important. Next time we will plan a better cruising time for her, right?

Disney_Aug_08_-_108A.jpg

Can you guess where they are standing?

Finally, my sister's youngest, her "surprise" baby and I. Calista will turn 6 on May 22. Not that we needed an excuse for the cruise, but that is an excellent reason--do we agree? We are waiting for the MVMCP parade in 2007 in this photo.

Disney_Jan_08_-_060A.jpg

So now we can be spotted, and will enjoy recognizing all of you in person!

Happy Birthday Jane!!!:flower3:

Welcome all our new comers!!! What a big group we have.

Great idea about the photo mats! I think I'm going to bring 2, one that all the Princesses sign and another with just all the other characters.
Too fun!!!!

Only 25 days!!! WOO HOO!!!

Hey Sonya...I was thinking of a Candy trade. Reese's (any ones you want) for Kinder Eggs and Cadbury (the real stuff :P)
What do you say???

I must be lucking out with the laminate and gluing on magnets. I had laminated several signs at work. Yesterday I got out the hot glue gun. I cut magnet strips about 1/3 the size of a business card. I glued it center top. I used a pencil to roll over the magnet, because it got so hot. I put them up on the regfrig and they were still up this morning. It seems like it is going to work. Right now I have about 8 per door!
DDs and I went to the liquor store last weekend and got our statch. I am thinking about bringing a blender andleaving it!!! The handle had broken on ours. DH has said more than once to replace. Any one bring a blender before? I figure why not.

Oops, I see I missed a couple of people. Expecting? Goodness, no! lol I'm not expecting to ever be expecting, for the record. lol The One Little Spark is a Figment reference. Figment being the cute little purple dragon I have as my avatar. I meant chronologically adults only because I'm turning 35 on that cruise, but I'm often enough more like 13. :D

Btw, I have no idea where I might be eating and when just yet. I have a room number, but the didn't tell me if they've assigned me anything else yet.

As for other cruises, in 2001 we went on a 3 night NCL (Norwegian Sea) Bahamas Cruise, which was our first and then in May of 2001 we went on the Grand Princess to the Western Caribbean for our Honeymoon. Oh, also we have are going on a Carnival Cruise in September. (Exotic West) We had no idea we'd be changing our May plan to include a cruise, too but I'm hardly complaining! Ever since 2001 we seem to be having trouble hitting the timing right for the Easter Carrib. :)
