~~~ May 16, 2009 ~~~ Western Magic ~~~ Part 2 ~~~ Key Lime Pie-rates ~~~
Ok, well I guess we have our snacks planned out for the rest of the trip. No more ice cream!
Jim tried to say we could eat it for breakfast since its made out of rice krispies, but NO we have Cheerios and yogurt that we have to eat as well.
Guess the next couple of days are going to be cheap eats for us.
Thanks for the assist.
Andy - drive safely tomorrow the wind has been pretty gusty. Can you tell I'm a MOM?
hi all....just doing laundry and trying to finish up packing.....still have two more work days!!
I forgot about DH's tux, so I need to call cruise line formal in the morning. Hope they can accomodate us! We probably won't leave here on Friday until around 3:30, have already gassed up and plan on cleaning the car out and packing it tomorrow.
Yeah!
Hi Everyone!
Andy -- glad you are having success with your drive. Be careful on the road.
Jane -- sounds like you are having fun. I can't wait to meet you on Friday!
JorDan -- we need to keep you healthy sweetheart. I hope you feel ok for the cruise.
Belinda -- knew it would work out! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to see you in the dress all dolled up!!!
Ok, so been racing around trying to pack it all and not doing a good job. I have probably overpacked and am stressed the car service won't fit it all in but ......oh well. Not much I can do anymore.
We leave here tomorrow around noon and land in Orlando at 5:45 or so. We are planning on meeting Faith&Hope (Kym) at the pool at the Swan for dinner if anyone is around and wants to join in.
I will see some of you on Friday at Epcot. We will all be dressed in burnt orange Texas Longhorn gear and I will have a lime green mickey luggage tag. I plan on making both meets and can't wait to see everyone in person!
I hope you all have safe travels and I will see you all soon!
Mati
Hi everyone,
Wow long time no post for me :eek::rolleyes1
Its been a horrible past few months for us...so we are needing this trip more than ever!!
My hubby's grandmother & Grandfather who is just as well like my own grandparents (that is how close we all are) came down for the summer like they do every year...well while here grandma didn't look so well (she has always had heart problems) well she went into the hospital like the weekened after she got here...well she passed away just a couple weeks ago:sad1: So that is a big change for us, so right after the cruise (the next weekend) we will have to fly to Michigan for her funeral. :sad2:
Well we went on a 3 day cruise a few weeks ago and it was on the Norwegian cruise line...well someone on board jumped overboard on the first night and so we spent the whole next day circling the ocean to try to find them...with no avail. but it sure was freaky!! It was our first ever NON Disney cruise and it sure does make us appreciate Disney more than ever!
Then my puppy (a seven month old German Shepherd puppy) was at a doggy daycare while we went on the 3 day cruise (it was a wedding of one of hubby's co workers) and when we got back to pick him up...I got a call saying that something happened with him and they were rushing him to the vet. Apparently his leg got torn on something or another dog got him or something (they still don't know) and he had a 4 inch deep gash about 4 inches wide as well in his inner thigh that required stitches right away. :scared1: the bad part is that it had been there probably since the day he got in their care but they didnt notice it because of where it was located and due to the fact that he wasnt acting hurt. but we had him boarded for 4 days total and he was in horrible pain for probably 3 of the 4 days (no one knowing) thankfully they paid the vet bill but you can guess that he wont be visiting there anytime soon...even though I'm sure it wasn't their faults totally but I would like to know what happened so that it wont happen again. :scared: Thats been a little over two weeks ago and thankfully now he has the Elizabethan collar off (which he hated) and his stitches out. It has healed up nicely, that's a good thing about being a puppy...he has fast acting young skin to heal. :wizard:
Then both My son and myself got sick...throwing up for a day and just feeling miserable....thankfully we are all back to normal now. But yes we are desperately needing this vacation :grouphug:
So hopefully I have sorta made up for not posting much...
Ok so I heard we will be going to Nassau instead of Cozumel :headache: This will only be our fourth time being there within the last year and yes it is one of my least favorite ports (hubby's least favorite as well) and why have we wound up there so much?!?!? Well because our last Disney cruise was a four day so that ended us there anyways (we knew and expected it so that is fine), then the Disney Magic trip we last went on (the Eastern) had a hurricane during our St. Martin day and so we had to leave there and instead of being able to go to St.Thomas...we were directed elsewhere...where??? YUP Nassau! Then on this 3 day cruise since we had man overboard we couldn't go to their Island since we spent all day at sea so instead we arrived in Nassau at about 4pm and stayed there overnight in port and then the whole next day as well...GEEZ I guess Nassau has something out for us :laughing: But we will make due...at least we will be on Disney Cruise ship...and we will make it fun :woohoo: The only thing that I am dissapointed in is that Cozumel was the only port that we had something planned (besides castaway cay of course) and it was the dolphin encounter for us and our son (who is 3...will be 4 in September) and of course now that is a no go...so I have to redirect that and find something that we can do :hug:
Sorry for the long post...I guess I figured that since I havent posted a lot that maybe I should :lmao:
Cant wait to see you all on the ship....not long now! :dance3::woohoo:
Hi Everyone!
Andy -- glad you are having success with your drive. Be careful on the road.
LOL We will drive safely! Cant wait till we get to Daytona!!!
We are just having our showers, cleaning up, and checking out! On the road again!! I will check back in when we hit DAYTONA!! YAY:banana:
:cool1:WE'RE LEAVING TODAY!!!! :cool1:
This evening to be exact. Boy do we need it! DB & his GF are still coming on the trip. Arrangements have been made for her father's memorial the day we come back to port. We will be driving to Jacksonville to drop them off.
Yesterday was a mess too... but I'm not even going to get into that.
I'm a bit freaked out because DH's parents are watching my puppy. She's a little over a year old and pretty well behaved. We do spoil her and let her sleep with us or in her bed, if she wants. DH's parents begged us to let them take care of her because they wanted to get their floors re-done and needed a place to stay anyway.....now (ye,s last min) they are dropping it on us that they only plan to stay at my house a couple days and leave Abby by herself the rest of the time. I'm so mad!!! :headache: DH is on the phone with them because I can't even talk about it without going off! I already had 2 people lined up to stay with her and then they begged us to do it...now they are sorta backing out. :headache::headache::headache:
OK, enough of that.... can't wait to see you guys on the ship!!!
Well, sounds like I'm not the only person who's had a miserable few days before the cruise! (I haven't posted about my issues, but they are real and involve a MAJOR life change for Adam and myself!)
Glad to hear I'm not the only person in the world right now with a HUGE black cloud over my head! Hopefully the cruise will be very refreshing and we'll all just have to make the best of the port change!
Wow everyone....
I'm just going to say "I'm sorry!!" To everyone!! Looks like we all need this vacation. At least we all know what's going on with each other and can comfort and PARTY!
We leave tomorrow, have LOTS to do today!!!
I think I have to agree with you there, SpeedFigure.
The Grey's Anatomy season Finale is Tonight for anyone who watches! (I'm not watching it until I'm alone, because I just know it's going to be a bad one.)
Just a reminder: You may want to call and warn your credit card company that you'll be traveling.
Tink - I'd be livid about the whole in-law/dog thing. Then again, I have had serious in-law issues. I wouldn't even entertain the thought of having them pet sit in my case. ;) I hope you get it sorted out in a way you're comfortable with. Some people don't understand that these are our babies!
Tazgirl - On that note, I'm sorry to hear about all your troubles recently and I feel so bad for your poor puppy. I lost my german shepherd almost 4 years ago now, but back around 10 years ago this idiot was walking in our complex with her Akita (huge and an aggressive one!) on one of those stupid extendible leashes and it was so so far away from her it pounced right on my dog, flipped him and sliced his head open from ear to ear on top, and deeply too. I was hysterical, shaking and holding it closed trying to get back to my hb. He needed a ton of stitches but was ok eventually, but it was horrible he had to go through that. I can't say I'd go back to that boarding place you used, either.
I just hate the idea of being on the ship wondering what happening at home. She is our baby and we are really going to miss her.
We all need this vacation. I was told yesterday that the company I've been temping at (that I was supposed to be hired at in 4 weeks) isn't hiring me and that today is my last day. To say the least it's disconcerting to know that when we get back I won't have a job, however, I have a few things happening so I may have one when I get back. :)
Hello
I have not posted in forever!! My family as well has had some crazy times these past few weeks! I thought once Tax season/closing was over, I would be on here- boy was I wrong. I had even less time!! But at least now we will all be on vaca and can forget about all this misfortune that is happening. I still owe for the bracelets and do not have time to go thru and read back- but I promise i will pay for them at the port or at a meet. I have not even begun packing for my family, and we leave tomorrow and i havea to work right up until we go to the airport!!
Hope to see some of you at the radisson pool on friday night!
Hello everyone!!! By the sounds of it this will be a much needed vacation for us all. And I am also a worrier about our 2 dogs and cat. Both my parents and grandparents and in-laws will take turns with them, but our one dog is an escape artrist and I'm soo afraid since they aren't used to him he will get loose and head for the hills!
Anyways! I'm sending our the FE list via e-mail in a few minutes for those that want to see it early. Now I have WAY to much to do this evening before we leave tomorrow morning!!!! :scared1:
I'm more of a lurker here than anything (mostly due to a very intense semester of organic chemistry, micro, and A&P, lol!) but I wanted to let everyone know about a great restaurant we tried tonight in Port Canaveral. It's called Thai Thai and it has a great thai menu and extensive sushi bar as well! If you are intown tonight and tomorrow, and like that kind of food, I highly recommend it. It's right across the street from the Radisson where we are now. It's a beautiful day here. We saw the Wonder today and can't wait to sail on Saturday. Happy cruising and safe travels everyone!!
I know what you guys mean about leaving your doggies home....Im in the same situation...only problem that Im having mentally is that everytime I go on a vacation and leave my pets in someone else's care something bad winds up happening :scared1:
Last year Hubby had to go to Vegas for work (there was a seminar there) so we all decided to go..well I left my kitty and prairie dog (yes I had a prairie dog) in my MIL's Care...well she is the BEST and I love her dearly and she is a huge animal lover like myself...well my stupid neighbor at the time (we have since moved) decided that she wanted to clean out my PD's cage (dont know what pocessed her to do that because I had warned her Millions of times not to go near his cage...even had a warning on the cage itself that NOT TO TOUCH BECAUSE HE WILL BITE! they are VERY territorial and especially do not like NON immediate family members...well did she listen...NOPE and somehow she managed to clean his cage and then the next thing my MIL knew is that when she went over to check on him, the cage door was wide open and he was GONE!! :scared1: She was freaking out and spent the whole time every day going over to call for him and look around the place, but to no avail...he was gone :sad1:
A LONG time before that, I used to breed and raise sugar gliders (have since stopped since they are a huge worry)...well she was watching them (and the dogs) and somehow one of my female gliders got out and the dachshunds got ahold of her and I imagine she died of fright...if not by them :scared: Not to mention the time I went away and she was watching my pets and my turtle escaped (thankfully we found him like 4 days later ALIVE) but yea so she isnt all that thrilled to watch my pets anymore because something Usually winds up happening...
Then when we left Harley at the Doggie daycare during our 3 day cruise and he winds up with the 4 inch gash, 4 inches wide in his inner thigh...so even doggy daycare is out for us :sad2:
Thankfully my dad is living with us (has been for a year) while looking for work down here...anyhoo he has offered to watch Harley here at the house for us...doesnt mean that I am any less worried though about him...I am MORE worried since I dont have the best luck leaving my furr babies...but so far dad has watched the cat and although he thought he had a scare when he couldnt find her...she was behaving nicely and was in the house (even when dad was outside in the neighborhood calling and looking for her) :lmao: But I am still going to worry about my babies...its only natural! :lovestruc:hug:
We will be at the Radisson tomorrow night!! :yay::woohoo:..
That Radisson is where my hubby and myself had our wedding reception almost 10 years ago!! So we have a special affection for it :cloud9: Yes My mom lives only about 10 minutes from the port...and I grew up in Cape Canaveral...even went to the grade school there!
