I assume the Thursday Brunch ressies will shift to Wednesday.

Belinda my dear, I did ask about your VR and they told me it should still be on Thursday.

Western Caribbean Itinerary Update

May 12, 2009

We continue to evaluate and monitor reports regarding H1N1 influenza in Mexico and the United States, as well as other regions around the globe.

At this time, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) are still recommending that travelers avoid non-essential travel to Mexico.

As a result of this recommendation, Disney Cruise Line has modified the May 16, 2009 Western Caribbean voyage of the Disney Magic to include a stop in Nassau, The Bahamas, instead of Cozumel, Mexico. Our itinerary will be as follows:

Saturday - Depart Port Canaveral
Sunday - Key West, Florida
Monday - Day At Sea
Tuesday - Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (tender ashore)
Wednesday - Day at Sea
Thursday - Nassau, The Bahamas
Friday - Disney's Castaway Cay, The Bahamas
Saturday - Arrive Port Canaveral

At this time, no itinerary changes have been made to future Western Caribbean voyages. We will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation and make future modifications as needed.

Additional information about H1N1 influenza can be found at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at www.cdc.gov.

I wish the CDC would adjust their recommendation to specific areas in Mexico instead of a blanket Mexico determination. According to the WHO there have been only 2 cases in the state where Cozumel is located. We have more chance of getting H1N1 in our home state then on a "non-essential" trip to Cozumel.

Time to get off my soapbox and off to packing.

See you all on Saturday!

DB's GF's dad passed away this morning (completely unexpectedly). No info yet on what is going to happen. Her father lives in another state and may need to be moved to FL, his home state for the funeral. DB & his GF are discussing if they are going to come on the cruise or not.

will keep everyone posted for the FE

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear this! Please let them know we are thinking about them during this difficult time. :(

I guess I may be the only one, but I'm really excited about Nassau. My son has always wanted to go to Atlantis and now he can :)
I changed our GC excursion to the extreme Dolphin swim/turtle farm instead of Boatswain's. I wish we could book our Nassau excursions online already. I may call to see if they'll let me book by phone.

Is anyone else freaking out about all the last minute details? I'm seriously behind on packing and getting everything ready to go.... EEEEEEEEEKKKKK!

Does anyone know if the altered itinerary changes pirate night/semi-formal night? It seems that it would, as the formal/semi-formal nights are usually at sea...

The change sounds good, Better safe the sorry!!!

Ashley and I decided to leave RIGHT NOW!!! So we are venturing off at 5! What we will do is just take our time instead of barrel down!!

Wish us luck! We will check in later tonight from some location, probably 4 or 5 hours away!

They don't do wedding on port days....I don't know anything right now. They are still trying to figure out where to put all the changes.

Belinda, I am so sorry the change is causing VR stress :(
Here's hoping they get it all figured out lickety-split! I can't wait to see how beautiful you look and watch your ceremony (from afar!)

I called and asked about reservations and this is what I was told.

Things like the Palo High Tea that only happen on At Sea days will now be moved to Wednesday.

Spa reservations and Palo reservations other than High Tea stay on the date and time you booked it for.

Excursion on Nassau can only be booked on the cruise. They are not opening it up for reservations online.

Does that sound right?

They told me the same thing. I expressed my extreme displeasure with having to book Nassau excursions on the ship. The last thing I want to do is stand in line behind hundreds of people while I'd rather be enjoying the cruise. I don't understand why we can't book excursions via the phone if not the internet.
ARGGGGGHHHHHHHH. Darn Swine Flu!

ugh I am so disappointed....I wanted Cozumel.

I''m with you on this. That was our only real excursion day. The rest were beaches. Now i'm on sure what todo. If we party in Nassau we should book directly threw the sheraton? I guess i should ask Mati where the party is??
