Day one --No sleep, where are you Michael? and Sarah surpise.

Linda (51)-- me planner and budgeteer, I love shopping for bargains and finding ways to save. First trip 1985 last Dec 2000
Martin (55) -- electric wheelchair user. Has to sit and wait a lot. Referred to as Poor Martin, First trip 1985 last trip 1995
Sarah (18) -- college student in love with Matty, apple of her mom's eye. Been several times last trip Dec 2000
Matty (18) -- college student in love with Sarah, he's a keeper. Been once for a soccer tournment sometime in 2000 doesn't remember doing much.
After a sleepless night, (who can sleep?) we quietly head off to the airport. Our plane leaves at 10:55 we have a 35 minute drive but with the wheelchair we need to get there early. Matty is our driver, told you he's a good boy. We load up all our over weight baggage. We grab a McDonald's breakfast at the airport. We did arrive early because no plane is even there yet. We get to be the first on the plane. Aren't we special? It takes time to put Poor Martin in the aisle chair and transport him onto the plane. The flight from Bradley Airport in CT to MCO was good a little bumpy. Sarah and Martin shared there headphones and watch Finding Nemo on the laptop.
Flight from Bradley, nonstop Southwest, started out at $79 each way called when the price went lower, thanks to this board and got it for only $49 each way.
When we landed we had to wait for the chair to be unloaded and brought upstairs. We had a nice chat with the flight crew. One was from Orlando and was telling us things to do. Of course they ask Sarah if she is skipping school and are shocked when she tells them she is a college student. They all think she is 16. She doesn't realize this is a good thing in the years to come.
We call Michael from Discount Mobility. He tells us he will be here in five minutes. While we where waiting some nice people give up a pack of bottled water that I guess they decide not to take home with them. After 15 minutes Michael calls us back and tells us he is stuck in traffic. He asks if there are helicopters circling the airport because he is close to the airport and there are police on every corner and helicopters circling. We are under an enclosed area, no helicopters here. I'm beginning to wonder about this company I'm doing business with. After that he calls back every 5 minutes or so to tells us his progress. He finally calls to tell us he found out that the VP was leaving the Orlando area causing all the problem. He finally shows up with a pretty red rear entrance mini van. We have never used this kind of van and at first Martin wasn't too sure he would like it. But now half the day is almost over and I just want to put all my over weight luggage in and get going. We had planned on doing some shopping before we checked into our hotel but after stopping at mcdonalds again for a quick burger it is almost check in time. We check into the Holiday Inn DTD that I got on hotwire for $39 a night.
We got a first floor pool view room. It was fine for one night. I tuck Martin into bed for a nap and Sarah and I hit the pool. This is wear I find out that the new bathing suit that I bought last year, no longer fits me. I had decided I would work out at the gym and loose some weight for our trip. I lost about 22 lbs. Now my bathing suit was saggy in the butt. We had a good laugh and I guess I should be happy. Sarah outside hotel.
OH yes, remember my friend Michael. Well, when he was showing me how the lock downs work on the van he put his keys down in the van, I told him don't forget your keys. Guess what? He left his keys. I had to call and tell him I would leave them at the front desk. He called back later to tell me he got them and they have great chocolate chip cookies at the front desk.
After Martin's nap and our swim we get ready for Sarah's surprise. She kept asking what it was so that she would know how to dress. She was hoping it was a Brittany Spears concert. She love Brittany. I gave in and told her it was Cirque Du Soleil 9 o'clock show. We had great seats. Handicap section for Martin top row of the first section. Sarah just loved it. One of the best things on the trip. We got 2 drinks one in a souvenir cup and two popcorn in souvenir bucket for $12.50. We used the cup the whole rest of the trip.
After the show we walked around DTD and picked up our Pal Mickey.
I don't even think we got any supper.
