May 14, 2011 - Eastbound TransAtlantic

Hi!
I think that this is the best one in Orlando...but of course, I'm sure that other people like other ones but I've had good luck here.

It is at the Orlando Premium Outlets and is called Disney's Character Warehouse. Here is the address:
4951 International Drive, Orlando, FL
(407) 354-3255 ‎

Good luck!

Hi there, I'm so happy to have found you guys. We will be on the EBTA, myself Amy DH Mike, DSs Mason 13, Carter 9, & Thatcher 5, along with 2 Grandmas. I signed up for the second candy exchange, sounds like fun.

2002 DM Bahamas, 2006 DM Bahamas, 2008 DW Mexican Riviera, 2009 DM Eastern Carribean, 2011 EBTA

I think he would be comfortable in his button up with tie, please don't skip! To save on luggage weight, I rented tuxes for my guys. My son would just outgrow any jacket I would buy him, he is in a major growth spurt right now. With two formal nights, I think it will be worth it, they show up to your room pressed, so I add that into the value. My guys were in tuxes last year for the Med. and were in the minority. I saw a number of guys in shirt and tie and no jacket.

I will be bringing a ballgown, and DH will have his suit and I have bought him a tux shirt with the bow tie. So we can do a few outfits for him ! That's one of the nights that I am looking foward to ! We don't get to many occasions to dress up at home, so it will be great ! :cool1:

Can't wait to mee everyone !:grouphug:

I signed us up for Fish Extenders. Have a few questions though. I have found descriptions of the other events but dont seem a description for FE.
1st DCL cruise so am a novice at the FE issue. Did successfully order one off of Ebay just now but nw I need to know what I am supposed to buy to pass out- is there somewhere that gives examples or ideas & how many items do I bring?
thanks for the help. Looking forward to meeting everyone

Tam.. welcome to the group! You will need to bring a FE gift for either.. each cabin or each person in your group.. group 3.... It can be any small trinket you make or buy. Here are some examples of things I have received or given. Pen, pencil, survival kit (baggie with band-aid, safety pin, rubber band, etc...) candy, post cards, playing cards, pins, luggage tags, door magnets... the list is unlimited. Check out the dollar store or ebay for things to get... use your imagination.... It is all in fun...

Can I still get in the FE group three. It doesn't say closed but I wasn't sure. I just joined the group last night.

Well got a few more small items today for the FE gift exchange. I sure hope mine comes in the mail soon I really would like to see it. Well 5 weeks to go. Will head out tonight looking to see if I can find any nice dresses and maybe since nice capri pants.

Don't really know what to do about formal night, husband could wear a button up shirt and tie, but he doesn't own a suit jacket. Guess we might have to ship participating those nights.

We orginally were not going to bring formal clothes, just nicer clothes, like a shirt and tie, and we were still planning on going to formal night. Some dress up, some don't - but I do not think you should skip! I know others on the boards (not this one) have issues with people not dressing up but I say if your happiness at dinner depends on how others are dressed, then you have other issues! Besides I have been on one cruise where the teen age girls were in a formal dress every single night, nobody told them to not dress up because it was casual night or pirate night - it was fun to see what they wore the next night, but I still dressed as I had planned. For the TA and Europe you will see less on formal nights because of luggage issues.

My first cruise was the EBTA last year. (Hi Krisann, we parasailed together)
I really wasn't planning another cruise this year. I was going to wait until 2012, until I heard/saw the rumors that the Magic was not going back to Europe next year. So, I jumped at the new IGT rate, alot of restrictions, no choices.

I have been lurking for awhile so I think I am up to date on what's happening.
Sorry I missed the Secret Mickey. I found the spread sheet and signed up for the FE. I have no time or talent for Homemade crafts and it's probably too late to order anything. Last year I gave custom printed pencils and rubber duckies to all, and special gifts for the kids (there were very few in my group).

Since I will be flying in a day early and have a rental car I thought I would try and buy some stuff, last minute procrastinator that I am, at the Disney Outlet/Discount store? I remember reading about it on the boards. Anyone know precisely where it is?

Thanks, see you all real soon
Pam

On our last cruise, we drove to FL and stopped at the Outlet in the St. Augustine mall. We found they had the Mystery Pin Packs (2 per pack) for $1. We got a bunch for FE gifts and trading! They worked great! I'd do that again in a heartbeat - but unfortunately we won't have any extra time in the area this time around.

OK Everyone! I need 8 more partipants in the 2nd candy swap to close this one out! It is a chocolate only - so if you have not joined yet and want to - now is your time! Right now we have 6 cabins participating with 17 people in swap 2

Okay I'll join in the candy swap, don't know much about it but sounds good. We don't have the greatest chocolate in Australia but I will do my best.

Can I also sign up for the FE exchange? Can't wait to use mt homemade FE again from 2 years ago.

I can't really sew so I just cut out felt shapes and gluded them onto the felt pockets.

I have a spare FE if anyone is interested. I know it is not the best but it's there if someone needs it:)

yes that group is not closed!

And do not forget about the Candy swap - that is still open!

Krisann

Thanks Krisann I will put my name on the FE list, joined the candy swap last night. I can't believe this is our 5th Disney Cruise and the first that I've known about all of these fun actvities!

the candy swap is simple - there are 25 total people participating (this includes all the people in a cabin who want/eat chocolate). You purchase 25 pieces of chocolate to deliver to all the other people in the group. These can be snack size bars, small pieces, you can make a little candy bag up for the cabin, etc. the goal is to have a variety of different chocolate to eat throughout the cruise for snacking!

I will check with the others to see if anyone has an objection to having you bring any type of candy - especially since you are traveling so far!

Your FE looks great!

Hi

It's nice to know that my daughter will hopefully make some new friends her age.
This may sound like a stupid question but where is RI?

RI is Rhode Island - it is in the USA

Thanks Krisann
I really don't mind bringing chocolate, I have plenty of space in my suitcase as I plan on buying plenty of stuff at the premium outlet stores before we cruise:woohoo:

cool - then I will just leave you as a chocolate.

Swap #2 is closed!

Now to start Swap 3 which will be a candy - anything BUT chocolate swap!

Krisann

Ok candy swap #3 is now open for sign ups! This swap is any type of candy except CHOCOLATE!

here is how it works:

the candy swap is simple - there are 25 total people participating (this includes all the people in a cabin who candy - because this is candy only and no chocolate, some may just want to sign up their kids).

You purchase 25 pieces of candy to deliver to all the other people in the group. These can be mints, gum, small pieces of hard candy, you can make a little candy bag up for the cabin, etc. the goal is to have a variety of different candy to eat throughout the cruise for snacking! Because this one is candy only - no chocolate - it would be permissable to do the "movie time" candy boxes with a 2 to 1 ratio - meaning that 2 people could share the one box because of its size. We tend to do this in our cabin!

I will be providing bags to collect your candy in for those who are not FE participants - so do not worry about how you will get your candy!!!

If you have any questions - just ask - the sign up is on the spread sheet!

Krisann

The FE lists are currently at:

FE 1 (Closed): 33 people, 15 cabins
FE 2 (Closed): 50 people, 16 cabins
FE 3 (Open): 47 people, 18 cabins

It looks like it's time to close FE3? It's about the same size as the other groups, and we're only little over a month out. :)
