I did the same thing, figured you arleady did too so didn't say anything.

I remember getting last year's assignement in February. I guess last year's was also a month earlier so that could explain some of the delay...

We really got spoiled too with the free upgrade they so graciously gave us!!!

OK, I'm making progress in small steps. Frequent flyer numbers entered on line (why didn't I see that tab before--thanks Dis-ers).

No room number yet. However...it has only been recently that they've been coming out early. It used to be very strictly at 30 days. SO I shall relax and wait and not stress and just hope for an upgrade and this is NOT a run on sentence. And why does DCL say 45 days till my cruise and Delta says 46 days till my flight? I hope they just count days differently.

Hi, everyone!!!! Well I suppose since we booked our cruise with DVC we won't be getting any kind of upgrade. Sad too because I noticed the price of a balcony guarantee was cheaper than the oceanview room we are in. Go Figure - but DVC wanted way too much per point for us to switch from the OV to a Verandah. So I guess I just have to be happy with what we have gotten. Will be interesting to see when they start assigning the cabins to everyone with a GTY.

I've come to terms that it's taking longer because they are trying to figure out a way to put all of us in a verandah room!!! They feel bad giving just a few people upgrades and want to give them to all of us wonderful Disboard members. Now doesn't that sound great!!!!

Someone reported on the main boards that they didn't do cake for birthdays any more--they had some sort of mousse stuff with Mickey shaped sprinkles???? Said you could BUY a cake! Interesting..not confirmed.

Just got off the Dream - That's correct: NO cakes anymore, unless you can call a small, round, flat brown mouse thing a cake of sorts!
Can you tell I'm not a chocolate fan? lol

I didn't ask about purchasing options, but this is what was presented to us as complementary on Fri. Then we went to Palo the next night & we received an additional gift of a dinner plate with the words written on it in chocolate syrup...guess we didn't need more cake anyway!!


We're excited to hear about the GTY assignments too!!! Upgrades for everyone, I hope!

Not a fan of this change. Hmmm. I wonder if this is just on the new ships or fleetwide? I just saw a tripreport from the Wonder (March MR) where a cake was served to their table for a birthday (not one that you pay for).

There will be plenty for me to eat and it isn't as though I needed extra dessert, but I was looking forward to a bday cake this time around since they ran out last time *pout*

There have been reports of DVC booked reservations being upgraded. Remember that to DCL a DVC reservation looks like any other. They are just another Travel Agent in the end.

So keep those fingers crossed!

Hi anyone that is new.

Just a "wee note" (and just in case we are missed ) to let you know we shall be absentees on the DIS and F book from tomorrow until at least 12/04/2011. We are going to England to see some of our family and then pay our respects and be in remembrance for my (Adele's) parents and David's Dad . We shall then be flying out to Lisbon to join the RCCL Splendour of the Seas for a wee dander around the med; to give us some cheer after our visit to England. We shall look forward to hearing that everyone has been given their GTY staterooms and that we are all still on board for our adventure on the Atlantic sailing on the Disney Magic.
