May 13, 2012 4 Night Bahamian Cruise

Did anyone else book without a stateroom number? This is our first Disney cruise. :cool1:
We have a type of room guarantee but no assigned cabin number. When will we find out our actual cabin?:confused3

My mother, myself and my dd 6yo are going on this cruise, we are all so excited. It will be our first cruise ever.:yay:
I'm wanting to let my daughter (in first grade) talk to a new friend before she goes and then meet up on the ship. I think it will help build her excitement and meet new friends! We will be spending a few days in DisneyWorld before we cruise as well. If anyone would be willing to let the girls "chat" pm me and I can give you our number. I would love for my daughter to have another facetime friend! Thanks so much!

Not sure how many 18-21 yo. will be on this cruise, but I will encourage my 3 to attend the first night event so if any others are out there maybe you can do the same. DH and I will be sailing with DS just finishing first year of college and DD and her friend. They will be college graduates as of May 12.

What is the FE list?

Most people as What is A FE?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A:
Outside of each stateroom is a hook of sorts with a fish (or starfish or seahorse on the Dream). By signing up on here, people can join an FE gift exchange. Everyone participating will get a list of people and their stateroom numbers who have also signed up. Throughout the cruise participants will deliver the gifts to the participating staterooms and leave them in their fish extenders, which is really just something hung from the fish hook with pockets to hold your gifts. It's a fun way to get to know other cruisers and the gifts are a nice treat to have waiting for you when you return to your room each day. The gifts can be any value you choose. Some people make something crafty. Others bring things that represent where they live. Some even bring things people might find useful for the trip. Also, one could choose to get one gift for each stateroom on the list, something for each person in the room, or maybe even multiple gifts throughout the cruise. There are several helpful threads on the regular cruise forum with even more information. Hope this helps. Let me know if you'd like to join and I'll add you to the list.

Hi .. we also booked late with a gty.. at the end of February and finally got our stateroom number 46 before the departure date. It's just a matter of checking on the DCL website ..(maybe not as obsessively as I did ) and the number will just appear on your reservation .. like magic really:wizard: Good luck, I hope you get what you want. We were , well .. very happy:yay:

Thanks for the reply. I am afraid to even start looking at the DCLwebsite because I fear I too will be obsessed!

Anyone going to do the Castaway 5k?!?

They have made a lot of improvements to it now with actual race bibs, a race timer at the end, and medals(plastic but still). Tshirts available for purchase.

My sister won't be doing it with me but wondered if anyone on here is planning to?!

I just registered for the Tower of Terror 10 miler so just want to get in as many runs before then!

So I was just commenting on the main board about how there is really nothing for us late-nighters to do on the ship. Got me to thinking that it would be fun to try to set up a late night (very) low stakes poker game on deck if anyone is interested. Not sure if this is bad etiquette to post this on the boards, but let me know if anyone is interested- if we have enough, I'll bring my set of chips.

DH is not a poker player nor am I but I know he would love to play Chess against anyone! :thumbsup2

Wouldn't worry about etiquette for posting... I am an early riser so early turn ins go hand in hand and I have a horrible poker face LOL but I don't blame you for posting - would be worth it if you set up a game and get to do what you enjoy on board! Good Luck!

My kids (14& 16y/o girls)are getting very excited - counting down the days, trying to earn extra spending money for our journey to USA- Florida.
Will take us approx 28hours in transit (21hrs of flying) for us to get Orlando from Adelaide -South Australia. Leave in 9 days time
It will be worth it with the following itinerary planned

3days @ Seaworld, Atlantica & Busch Gdns
4 nite disney cruise to Bahamas
2 day drive to Miami then to Orlando
day @ each Disney Park including water parks
Day @ each Universal Park plus Luau one nite.
have also 4 down days to do anything that grabs us while in Orlando. Plenty of nites out on the town.

We have also organised to fly home via NY- quick stop over for 2 days as a surprise for the kids. We have been to NY before and I think it will bring back the great memories we have from our previous trip.

See you all on the cruise
Regards

Wow! Sounds like the trip of a lifetime! I'm a little jealous. ;)

I am having Love Bug paranoia again. I will be so dissapointed if we can't have a sail away party or swim because the decks are covered in the nasty critters!

Oh my Goodness...... can this really happen? I will be so disappointed if there are more Love Bugs on board than humans! :confused3
