May 13, 2007 EARLY Roll Call 5/13/2007 4-Night Wonder

The Saga continunes... our trip is now once again up in the air. I am trying to figure out what our game plan is at this point to figure out if we are still going or not.

I hope you can still go. And that there is no more road blocks for you. Please keep us posted. Maybe you could down size it instead of just not going. Would hate to see you leave our fun ship Disney style. I will be thinking of your family and hoping that things get better.

Since the penalty to cancel is now 1/2 the trip cost at this point, I have a feeling we will still be sailing. We will definantly cut back on the normal massages and drinks etc.

Something makes me think we will not have a final answer from the MIL till very close to the trip.

I was talking to my husband and said you guys might have to cancell but he said heck I would go. Things might look a lot better after words. We talked about cancelling because of the building slow down but said heck lets go we did not want to do that to the kids. So we made up our mind that fast. and we went. I would not want to lose that much money on a trip that I could not take.

I also do not want to cancel at this point due to the kids, they have been looking so forward to the trip and realize how close we really are to going. I think they would be heartbroken. I am keeping my fingers crossed all works out and we sail the high seas on the 13th!

I hear what you are saying Scottie. I know it is not easy to do something like that. And I could not do it to my kids. I said I did not care if I charged it all and paid if off all year that has long as my kids had the best time it was worth every penny.

Skyw, hope that your surgery goes well and that you recover quickly.

Scottie, sure hope that everything works out for you. Since the cancellation penalty is so high I really think that you should just go for it. You really don't have to spend anything on board except for tips. And you can still have a great time. What would happen with you airfare if you didn't go? Is ist refundable? Here is some for you too. Keep us updated.

As for our trip...spoke to MIL this evening and it sounds like we are a go still both the Cruise and WDW parts of the trip! We are considering downgrading our stay the night before the cruise but not sure will find a place a whole lot cheaper, still near port, for 6 people. I will do some checking though. I think we are all in the same boat agreeing that the penalty is so high not really worth the cancel!

scottie, i am happy to hear its still a go for you guys,since you are the one that started this thread we would really miss you. i know i can hardly wait everyday i go into work and give them the countdown to when our vacation starts, i am now down to 38 days till the start of ours.. disney here we come!!

Thats funny you say that... I do the same thing at work every day! I send an email to a couple of my co-workers with a live countdown attached!

We have been singing 99 bottles of beer on the wall toon to 40 days till Disney world mark one off and pass it around 39 days till disney world. and so on.The boys love it. They think it is so funny.

I think everyone here has ants so to speak in their pants for Disney World. It can not come soon enough.

Scottie I am happy to here that you are still planning on going on the ship with us. I think for now you are making the right choice.


And yes we only have 40 days till Disney. I hope it goes by fast.

This weather is driving me nuts. We have been pushing into the 70’s for a few days now and now the for forecast shows temps dropping back into the 40’s next week. How am I supposed to get myself accustomed to the warm weather we will all enjoy on vacation??

I know we had the same thing. It never hit the 40's it did go down to the 50's during the day but the last couple it has come back up to the 60's. I can not wait for warm weather and a suntan. That is what I call a piece of heaven. I just told the boys we have 39 days till we leave. They have know idea how long of a wait that is. But here I can say we are almost to that warm weather and fun in the sun. I must day to all Disney is the light at the end of the tunnel here and I can see the light.

I got a qestion for all. Who can say they have started packing or have thought of starting packing?

I can say I have brought the suite case's up to air out and have been thinking about. I have made a couple of list's.

I haven't started packing yet,but i finally booked our flight and airbus to the airport. only thing is on the flight there they have me and my dd7 seating at opposite ends of the plane, hopefully i can get that fixed.

Packing already? Not me. I hate packing. Don't do it until the evening before we leave. No lists here either. I just kind of think from head to toe what I will need and put it in the suitcase. Then I lay in bed too excited to sleep and wonder what I forgot all night. Haven't forgotten anything important yet!

Ragdoll I could not do that. Hugh... I have to think about for a week or so. Wash, Dry fold and iron everything put it in the suite case. And this is our 1st trip with kids. So now more lists and more worry about forgeting somthing. And yes there has been a time when I did forget to bring something. That was my try at no list packing. I should add we check our lists and suit case twice this time I might check it more.

So we will start packing the week before and be ready a day or two before. But no we will not be sleeping the night before. We will be bouncing off the walls. And we have to be up at 2:30 am and at my moms by 4am to get the limo to the airport. So we will not sleep. Ok I hope the kids do.

Has anyone heard from Skyw on how she is feeling? I was hoping to hear everything went ok.

No packing here either. Bought some new clothes. Got some new luggage though for the trip. Now if only I can convince the DW and kids to limit what they bring so we dont end up sleeping in the hallway while our bags take over the room I will be all set!

I am so glad that I have learned to pack light. I will bring even less this time since we are going for nine days instead of our usual seven days. I never do laundry on a seven day trip but figure that I will have to do a load this time so I will pack even less. It would be much harder if I had to pack for kids!
