May 13, 2007 EARLY Roll Call… 5/13/2007 4-Night Wonder

Oh my I forgot the pillow case....thanks for the reminder.....

Whoa!!! I just had to catch up on four pages! It's great to see everyone so excited and chatting away!

We have cruised on Mother's Day a couple of times and I must say that the big surprise for mothers was...no surprise.:rotfl2: To tell you the truth I really don't care because when I am on DCL I feel like I am treated like a queen everyday. Who knows though, maybe this year they will do something?:confused3

Four more days for us!

Donna

I am surprised that they don't do anything at all. I have been to Disneyland on Mother's Day and every mom gets a flower and all of the CM's say Happy Mother's Day to you. They don't really give anything away but lots of acknowledgement.

Mickey4- for me personally I just go along usually to hang with the wives and don't really enjoy the fight itself. I like the party that goes with all of these big events! :)

Anyone here watch Lost?
I wonder if we will be able to watch it while on board?

Well I would have to go along with just the trip is gift enough for me. I did hear from someone. Can not recall the person but they said they normally have a special menu or Speical treat for mothers Day. Nothing says I love you like a big cake. :rotfl2:

But yes the trip is my gift this and I could not ask for a better one. Wonder how they will top it next year.:lmao:

Does anyone know if there are swim vests for the kids on board? My youngest isn't quite a full on swimmer yet. I am wondering if I should bring her vest she likes to wear. It is so bulky but we will be in the water so much.

She hasn't been really into the arm wings (floaties) in the past.

DH and I watch Lost. The ship does have ABC as long as they are close enough to port. So I guess there is a possibility that we can see it since we will be heading back. DH is really hating to miss 24 though. I can't watch that one. It makes me too tense.

:yay: Hi,

TIVO or Didital Vidio recorder will solve all those problems..
gg

oh yes we have tivo but we are seriously impatient when it comes to a few shows. Lost and 24 too. I know we can watch it when we get home but we don't like waiting! Both shows are coming to the season finale's and so are getting really exciting right now.

mom2jandl- I actually questioned the life vests a while back on the main board because I couldn’t recall from prior cruises. Great minds think alike!:thumbsup2
Basically what I gathered was no vests onboard at all. You can bring your own since Disney does not supply any. However, the Mickey pool onboard is not deep from what I recall; only the goofy pool would have some decent depth to it. The link below will take you to a picture of the Mickey pool from our 04’ cruise, to give you an idea of how it looks depth wise.
DCL did say a limited number of life vests are for the taking on Castaway Cay at Gil's Fins and Boats. Not 100% on that one though since prior cruisers I talked to never saw them on the island!
We did find some nicer arm floats at our local Walmart that we are going to try for our youngest. They are covered in a cloth-type material and velcro on so you can adjust them.

I think my kids and I will be living at the mickey pool. They love water as long as they can touch the bottom. They do not yet know how to swim. That photo makes me want to jump right in. Does that look so nice perfect place to watch the kids and get some sun at the same time. :thumbsup2

Thanks Scottie,
I think we may just pack it. She is not a big fan of the water wings.
I mean I think it will be worth it for my ease of mind. She is what the y call water safe but does not swim completely.

Pretty soon we can start counting down by hours. WOW!

This is a great day our last Friday at home before we leave and with everything going on this weekend it will fly by.

I am guilty of just coming here to see my count down counter. Am I the only one who likes the way it looks at only 4 days. What a wonderful thing. :cool1:
I just looked and the weather and they are calling t-storm on May 13th. I hope that changes. It did look like later in the day but lets just cross our fingers they are wrong all together. Otherwise maybe we will have to pull out early. I do not know how they do that. Our bus is not going to even pick us up for our hotel until noon or so. Maybe they will move that up then too.

I believe I have read that if there is rain when it is time for the sail away party they move it inside. I imagine everything stays on track regardless of the weather, most of the time.

Oh, don't worry about the weather. Florida often gets afternoon thunderstorms when it is hot. The ship will not leave early.

Let me tell you about the weather on our way to the ship on our last land/sea...DH and I were on the DCL bus on our way to the port and it was raining harder than I have ever seen it rain in my life. We were going across the bridges and I couldn't see a thing. I was really worried we were going to land in the ocean. It was that bad. I thought it would be raining for our entire cruise. Anyway, it was still pouring when we got to the terminal. We boarded, went to our room to drop our carryons and went up to the buffet. This took less than 15 minutes. By the time we got through the buffet line the sun was shining brightly and the servers were wiping down the chairs outside. We had a wonderful lunch outside in the sun and beautiful weather for the rest of our trip. :woohoo: I couldn't believe how quickly the weather had changed.

I joke with friends about how I believe Disney has an invisible bubble they put up over the parks/cruise when they need the weather to get better! :)

10 day forecast says 85 Partly cloudy on Sat (port), Scattered Showers and 85 on Sun (port) and Scattered Showers and 84 at Nassau. Sounds good to me!!!!!
