May 13.2006 Eastern

In exactly 3 weeks from now, we'll have landed at MCO, obtained our rental SUV and will be headed to DTD. My husband has been monitoring rental car rates just to see if a better deal is out there and they have now doubled from what we are paying. We ended up with a Trailblazer from 5/10 through 5/22 for $221.24 (with a coupon from BJ's and booking a while back) !!! We couldn't do a Disney transfer for 4 for that price.

I'm so ready for vacation. Our ds8 has been having 3 plus hours of baseball practice 3 nights a week. His league's games begin Saturday and he'll have up to 4 a week. Our ds5 began t-ball today and he will also be adding 2 nights of 1.5 hours practices a week. His games begin 5/13 and end the first week of June so he'll be missing most of the season. I'm ready to relax and not drive anywhere or have to be anywhere every night of the week except a restaurant on DCL!

Our puppy was spayed yesterday and she'll barely look at me. I feel such tremendous guilt though I know it needed to be done.

I'm still checking and hoping for an upgrade. Anyone luck out yet?
I saw a post last week that someone from 5/6 got an upgrade so I was hoping this week some of us may get one.

My ds5 told his speech teacher yesterday his " favorite state" was Castaway Cay. He's fixated on getting there again. He will be SO happy when he realizes he really will be going back. Everytime we pass a river with an island he asks if that's CC. Even though they do not know about the cruise portion of the trip we are taking next month, they talk about the WDW part a lot. They have their whole itinerary planned already of what rides they want to go on and what order. They also constantly talk about our DCL cruise last year and how much they want to cruise again. We use those times to talk about what they'd like to do on board, excursions, where they'd like to go, etc. I don't think we'll ever be able to hold a surprise in for this long again. I'm still in doubt we'll actually make it to the 13th, but we will see.

DH and I decided a few weeks ago to order new birth certificates via the internet since ours were getting a bit ragged looking. He got his new one from PA in mint condition. Mine came from VA with a hole in the middle and whoever printed it, folded it immediately and the ink looks like a butterfly. My original 1972 version looks in better condition! We didn't do passports since we wanted to wait until next year when it's madated , the kid's only last 5 years and we wanted them to last as long as possible.

Cali-mouse, I work from home but have our personal computer next to my work computer and am always refreshing our cruise meets thread on the personal one. Our screen saver is a picture of the Wonder docked at CC last year.

Three weeks from today my family and I will be on the plane heading to Florida!!!

:bounce: In 23 just days we'll all be heading out to sea!!! :bounce:

Hey Dr. Cavin, if you are not happy with your big envelope from your TA you can send it on to me and I will gladly make use of your CSR ressies! :rotfl:

ROFL... Before I opened it, I was thinking wow DCL really reduced the amount of documents they are sending :goodvibes

They did include 4 plastic luggage tags, which have a picture of the MK castle which changes when you move it. DD thought that was very cool :thumbsup2

Has anyone seen more recent Eastern Navigator's than the Dec. 05 ones scanned on Disboards.com ? I've googled "DCL Eastern Navigator's" and didn't come up with anything better. Does anyone know if the activities are basically the same on the Western cruises? They do have more recent Western ones scanned in.

Good Morning from the West Coast!

Well tonight is the big Jimmy Buffet concert for DW and I... :cool1:pirate: I can almost taste the margaritas now!

As far as tours, this DF has not booked any. We have a DD that is only 4yrs old...so our options are very limited! DW wanted to book the Butterfly farm just so we had SOMETHING officially planned, but because I work in the tourism industry, I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much money for basically a cab ride. So I've told DW that many of you mentioned that taxi's were easy, safe and about 90% cheaper! So as of now, the only plans are butterflies. My kids will absolutely LOVE it, so that makes me happy :) . We are still going to TRY and get on a snorkel tour, maybe from the docks.

Any one in the same position as us with regards to tours?

I reserved the Stingray Encounter at CC. Is anyone else doing this?

We are booked for this, I think we are in the last time slot of the day.

Cali-Mouse - We did the butterfly farm on our own last time, was very easy to get a taxi. Our driver even came back & picked us up in an hour & took us to a beach for the rest of the day.

Yes, I am. Everything seems to start at 5, doesn't it???

I'm looking into private snorkeling tours that our DS, 4, can come along with. DH and I could take turns snorkeling. Other option is to leave DS on the boat, which we're hesitant about, or to just do a beach day.

But I love to snorkel, so I'm torn.

We got them, We got them, We got them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPS just dropped off our documents!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cali Mouse, be sure to have a margarita for me too!! :drinking1

DH got Jimmy Buffet tix years ago. We couldn't go, so we gave them to a good friend of ours who was single. He met a girl in a bar, took her, long story short, they're married w/2 kids!!! Jimmy spread the love!!

It is HOT here gotta be in the 80's, no breeze, unlike on our cruise, where there will be cool tropical breezes!! :sunny:

DrCavin, what is CSR?

Every time I hear a truck I'm gonna be running for the door!

Hanover I'm so jealous! Now I'm going to be like bxirishrn and looking out the window at the sound of every truck! Anything good in there?

I looked through our documents. We got a checklist, a travel booklet which includes a cruise contract, "important" information, gratuity guidelines, itinerary and so on. We also got 8 lime green sticker style luggage tags (looks like 16....you have to fold them down). They look a lot easier to use than the ones we had to rip out of the books last year. Seems so real now! They are carefully tucked away so our son's do not find them. They came in a large white envelope and then a beige DCL envelope...the same kind the planning DVD's come in (I thought at first it was another dvd).

I have a friend I saw earlier at the YMCA that is going to WDW in two days. She's so excited. She is taking her turning 5- year- old on the trip for the first time. It's always so nice to be able to speak with others that also enjoy WDW and don't think we "waste" our money.

Cali-mouse: have fun at the concert. My DH would love to be there. Jimmy (as our ds5 calls him) is the only music EVER played in dh's truck. He's a part time disc jockey (full time policeman) and we have more music than I could count, but Jimmy Buffet is the only selection you will find in his vehicle.

Kathleen: CSR is Coronado Springs Resort

Congrats!!! Congrats!!! Congrats!!!

I'll have to give my mom a call and tell her to be on the lookout for our docs!!!

I just arrived home from my birthday dinner. My DW and DD took me to the new Outback Steakhouse that just opened this past Monday near our mall. I am so stuffed I can hardly breathe, I feel like taking a nice long nap!!! :lmao:

Thanks for the birthday wishes. :goodvibes

:cheer2: 22 Days to Go!!! :cheer2:

We are booked for this, I think we are in the last time slot of the day.

We booked at noon. We were going to book the dolphin encounter (dd wants to be a dolphin trainer when she grows up) but we read a lot of negative reviews.

Tsirgey-

We also booked the St. Maartin Dolphin Excursion. Are you going on the earlier one or later one? We booked the earlier one as not to miss our (early seating) dinner for pirate night. I just reread your post and see you are doing the noon one.

I have also read mostly negative reviews. It was the only excursion we really wanted to do there besides just going to a beach. We all love dolphins and had a blast at the encounter at the Blue Lagoon in Nassau last year so we figured we'd try it out. I am just hoping the boat ride is not as horrible as people make it sound. I will be wearing my motion sickness patch, but our ds5 can't wear a patch and he gets very ill on small rough boat rides. I don't want to knock him out with Benadryl either. I will have to buy some less drowsy chewable dramamine/bonine and take it just in case. I read a lot of bad reviews about the Blue Lagoon but like I said before, it couldn't have been a better experience.

It's much more expensive than the Blue Lagoon and the encounter we did in Cozumel in November 2004. I'm sure the kids will have fun regardless and we'll just have to make the most of it! I think a lot of the negativity comes from the amount of money people spent on it....I know ours is $700 for the 4 of us..... and not feeling they got their money's worth. Someone said to go to Discovery Cove instead, but DS5 isn't old enough.

I'm sure if it were truly that terrible that DCL would not even offer it, or provide a different vendor.
