Sorry to hear that you will not be cruising. We cancelled as well (for different reasons) but I can definitely commiserate (sp?!) with you. As you can see, I am still checking posts here once in a while. It hasn't quite sunk in yet. Here's hoping that we both can sail on DCL in the future!

Well, guys, we are the next casualty. :sad1: I'm so bummed but we had to cancel as well, for a number of reasons. It's just not the right time I guess. I'm sorry I won't get to meet everyone-- especially all the Ohioans :thumbsup2 ! Have a safe trip, a great time, and we'll be thinking of all of you (a bit jealous of course!)

BTW, we just gave up 2 Cat. 9's if anyone wants them! 2134 and 2136 ! :sad2: I'm gonna cry again!

Aww! So sorry to hear that you won't be going either!!!!

I checked that link DrCavin gave for the room reports, and one of our rooms was "very noisy". Just great. We can't afford to upgrade, but I wonder if we could switch rooms. I guess I need to ask my TA.

I'm sorry some of you are dropping out. We had to drop out of our first cruise we had scheduled for last year and it just broke my daughters hearts. So as soon as we were sure, we booked this one to take it's place.

Littlebunny-

I'm not sure what deck/category you currently have, but when I called Dreams Unlimited Travel on Monday, the agent told me that several categories are sold out including ours (8). I had to write a request to D.U.T.'s DCL reservations agents to see if we could get moved a little further back in the same category (if a room opens) or if we could upgrade to a verandah and how much it would be. I haven't heard back yet. I hope some more rooms become available once final payments are due.

Since we did pull out i'm not sure how much longer i'll be able to read these posts. Its fun still to talk about. The only thing that doesn't have me completely bummed is that I'm originally from Seattle but moved to Michigan when I was 10. My dads side of the family is still out there. Anyways, my husband has never been out that way and since we already now have to pay airfare for my daughter I wanted to go out for a visit before my son turned two which meant we had to travel this year. So we are going in April for a week and my parents are coming with us and paying our way so that helps as well. They will be a huge help with the kids on the plane. So as bad as I'm goin to miss the cruise at least its getting replaced with something that I know we are going to have so much fun on. And Seattle is just so beautiful I can't wait to get there.

Just wanted to say how sorry I am that so many cruisers had to cancel. Hope that you all can cruise sometime soon!

Donna

So sorry people had to drop out. Maybe we will be able to get together another time.

Meanwhile - WOO-HOO!! WE'RE DOING THE DOUBLE DIGIT DANCE!!! I thought it would never get here. I think to celebrate I'm going to go out and buy something for the cruise tonight.

I am too so sorry that people had to drop their trip. I would be devistated. I hope you can all rebook very soon!! Good luck to all!!

Double digits!!! Yippee!!! :cool1: :cool1:

I am so darn excited about this trip. Our dd (5) said to us the other day...

"Mommy and Daddy, you can go have nice dinners and just relax on our cruise. I can't wait to hang out at the kids club and meet some new friends". We will probably have to drag her out of the kids club!!

I just talked to my TA, and he said the only other rooms available for us would be just down the hall, and one of those rooms had a bad report as well. I think we'll just stick it out and hope for the best. I am NOT going to let a noisy room ruin my vacation though. I'll just have to take naps on deck!

Piglet Pooh99, sounds like your going to have a good time in Seattle. And it always helps when parents travel with you. There's nothing like another set of hands when you have small children. Where in Michigan did you live? I lived in Midland and Saginaw for a while.

I'm from Port Huron but live in Virginia now. My hubby is in the Coast Guard and so we got transferred down here. I'm hoping to get back towards Michigan though. Its really too hot here.

"next week at this time" lol, I've been thinking the same thing. Am I ever obsessing about this cruise! Absolutely cannot wait!

DH and I have already had our first pre cruise dreams (or nightmares). I drempt that I was at the buffet on boarding day and was waiting for them to refill the shrimp. Of course I woke up before I got to eat it. The dreams have started early this time. Must be all that obsessing we're doing!

Does anyone know what night is the pirate night. Trying to plan Palos around the pirate night.

We plan on going to Palo on Wednesday. That night seems to miss any shows or Pirates Night. Does anyone know if I can book a table at Palo for me, dh, my mom, dad, and FIL or do they have to book themselves? My parents have both sailed DCL before but FIL hasn't. I think he can't book for a while longer.

Does anyone have a suggestion on what would be the best days for a reservation for high tea at Palo and for brunch there as well?

We decided to go ahead and do the dolphin excursion in Anguilla, despite some mixed reviews. It's the only one we were all interested in and could meet the age, etc. requirements.

You should be able to book a table for 5, havent seen how the reservation system works yet.. but I will Sunday morning :surfweb:

We did brunch on Monday last time. Isnt it only on sea days? I think my DW & DD did the high tea. I remember it was later in the week, but not certain what day.

I posted a dining matrix spreadsheet on the Yahoo site. It has the days, ports, theme nights, all that confusing stuff on it so you can schedule things & keep things straight.

Just wondering what you are all planning to book at the 90 day mark :) Might be kind of fun to see if we conflict with each other :sad2:

As for us this is what we are shooting for dinner/excursions:

1. Palo - Champagne Brunch (party of 4) I believe they do this on Sunday which is mothers day :cool1:
2. Palo - dinner Wednesday night 7:00 or so (party of 4)
3. St. Martin - Catamaran early departure (party of 9)
4. St. Martin - shopping excursion into town with the girls (party of 4)
5. St. T&St. J - Turtle beach on our own most likely (party of 9 or 4) not sure if we are all going together
6. Castaway Cay - Banana Boat (party of 7) our youngest is 7 and won't be old enough so I will stay ashore with him and take the pictures
7. Castaway Cay - snorkel/bike/float package (party of 9) :moped:

Spa -

1. Weekly pass for DH and myself for the week (in our opinion was awesome on the western so we are repeating :cloud9:
2. Castaway Cay - couples cabana massage (another repeat for us and well worth repeating

Thats it for us! Time is a ticking :hourglass I will be up at 3AM booking :surfweb:

Palo Brunch - Monday
Palo Dinner - Thursday

No decisions yet on excursions. We want to do something that takes us to St. Johns

I have updated the dinning rotation matrix to include the current shows/times & locations. It is on the Yahoo site, if you dont want to join Yahoo send me a PM with your email address & I can get it to you. It is in Excel, if you dont have Excel I can probably send it as a PDF to you.
