So this is cool: Pixar is going to release both TS1 and TS2 in 3D in a couple of years. They are are also going to produce a TS3 movie too. I can't wait to see these movies.

ok i'm sorry... but what is TS???????? is it toy story??????

I do think TS is toy story.

Hi guys! My son is still home sick today. No other signs of the flu from anyone else. Yay! :woohoo:

Ice started falling around 10 a.m. Everyone started driving crazy like they were Jo on a new drug! :) Just kidding (about Jo, but not the crazy drivers.) At 12:30, it took me 40 minutes to drive what is normally a 10 minute drive. Insane! Which it was raining then, not even icing. Go figure.

Hope you guys have a great day!

i LOVE that movie......well actually those movies.... love them all.....

:drive:
I made it to Belle's school and back with no issues, so that's realllllly gooood. Now I'm just nauseous from being dizzy from taking the drug. YUK.

Yay TOy Story! I love that movie!
Seacrest, what's the chance that the ride will be in soft opening stage when i am there?

Shelly- If you are going to cut your hair, I guess the best thing to do is to give it to L of Love.
Thanksgiving 2006 I cut my hair that was down to my waist up to above my shoulders because I needed a change.:scared1:
Drew cried when i came home; Mark opened the garage up, took one look at me and closed the door.:guilty:
I liked it for about 2 days. Then I wanted my hair back so bad, I looked into extensions. Um, nope, not for $1000+ dollars. It's just now growing out and i will never ever cut it again.

Well, not that drastically, anyway. :goodvibes
And I think really, you look a lot like Shania Twain-- I saw her up close in person in 2002 and really, you look so much like her, and her hair is long and beautiful. anyway, just my .02 cents.

Okay peeps, soccer tomorrow!!!

What'cha doin tonight? all the youngun's here have colds and Mark too...I'm a disenfecting fool! I can't get sick...
Gotta go prepare my supper!
Have a great night everyone!

NC- stay healthy!!

Hey Jo:

Sorry to hear that you feel so bad - hope you feel better soon.

You know, we might get lucky for a soft opening for the Toy Story mania ride. They are already testing the ride vehicles!

This weekend we are going to stay dry or build an ark.

Well, we are staying in. Waiting for dh to get home so I can dose all of us up with tamiflu.

We are having brinner tonight. That is when you eat breakfast for dinner. ;) Bacon and eggs. We love brinner! Since we moved into the neighborhood, brinner has become a very popular meal! We have convinces everyone that you should have brinner at least once a week!

We have the 4th grade rabbit for the weekend. Dd is so excited! She can hardly separate herself from the critter. She is carrying that poor animal everywhere.

Tomorrow is dh's birthday. Not sure what he wants to do on his day. I do know that we have an engagement party to go to tomorrow night, so that should be fun.

good morning

Big Hugs and get well soon wishes going out to those who need them.

It cold here this week... people are even calling it a deep freeze. ( Oh if they had only grown up in northern ontario with me). I grew up a half hour away from the Ontario/Minnesota border on Lake Superior ( hence the name lakehead), and when we were kids ... we had some wicked winters. ( wicked as in good.) Lots of cold and snow = great downhill skiing. Unfortunately there are no hills even close to here.

We are all relatively over the colds and almost done the bedroom painting, although the colour I chose is going to take a while to get used to. Most of the house is in shades of beige, and the bedroom is being painted a vibrant garnet... so it's definitely different but really cool at the same time.

Seacrest congrats on the return trip to florida, how great.

So I guess it's back to work on the bedroom...
I'll catch you later

Lake! :wave2:

Happy Sunday Everyone!!

I am tired, yesterday we had Dance class, then 2 bday parties and a trip to see my Inlaws. It was a long day.

I finished the painting in the living room and now I have to paint the moulding today. So it shouldnt be too bad.

So I was talking to Dh today about the airfare and it doesnt go down we might just go to Disney a night earlier. So we can be fresh the first day.

I have to ask my mom how much more that would be.

Seacrest- Good video.

New Crew- Happy bday to your dh

Jo- How was soccer.

and HELLO to everyone else!!!

Huggie - Sounds like the painting is going well and you have applied the final coat. I bet you are ready to be finished. I just love fresh paint. It makes everything seem new.

Lake do you feel like you are sleeping in a strange place?

I wonder if I should paint something? My baseboards in the kitchen should use a touch up. They are really looking banged up.

Good news, so far dh, dd and myself do not have flu symptoms. Yeah! :woohoo: Poor ds is still feeling yucky. He still had a slight temp yesterday. I will have to see how he does today. We are all staying home from church today.

Have a great day MAYers! :snooty:

Uh, didn't :snooty: used to be on the main smilie page? :confused3

Hey MAYERS!!!

So sorry for not checking in with a full reply sooner, I had a nice one all ready to enter on Wednesday and the site signed me out and made me lose it all :(

So here's 7 days in short....

Day 1 - Check-In to Housing/CP

I started my day by taking a Taxi from CR to Vista Way to get everything checked in. I arrived there around 8:45, and there was already quite a line going, even though officially check-in was from 9am - 1pm. It took me about an hour or so to move through all of the stations of check-in. One of the first ones was housing assignments. I had really wanted to be in a 3-bedroom at Chatham, which is the newer of the two complexes. I figured a 3-bed would be ideal 1) because each bedroom has its own bathroom 2) it's cheaper than a 1 or 2-bed and 3) with a 5 other roommates, you're bound to get along with at least one of them. I got what I wanted for housing and was assigned an apartment in Chatham Square.

After finishing all of the stations, I made my way to where the busses were transferring from one complex to the other and waited for about 45 minutes while the drivers discussed how best to load the busses. Now if you're one of the ones who think that resort transportation can be a bit hairy....These guys had nothing on the resort buses. The bus I was on got lost in the 2 mile drive from Vista to Chatham, and turned the wrong way into the complex, thus going the wrong way down a one-way street. I arrived at the apartment to find that my other 5 roommates had already arrived and were getting unpacked. I met Jody, who I share a room with, and started meeting the others. I was totally surprised that one roommate was someone I was friends with on Facebook. While I was meeting people, other people from the apartments around me started coming in, and again, there were more people that I had already befriended from Facebook.

Just an aside, in our building there are three floors, with six apartments on the first floor and two apartments on the top two floors. The top two floors are basically one big group of people who pretty much all knew each other from Facebook before arriving. We all pretty much come and go from each others apartments at random now.

Now we weren't supposed to get our assignments til the next day, but a group of us had figured out how to access the computer and see where we were that morning. I didn't have a particular attraction assigned but I found out that I would be in Epcot! After getting my stuff unpacked, a group of us decided to go grab some lunch before going to our housing meeting. We went to Steak and Shake which was a new experience since we don't have those in NE, and then went to our housing meeting, which basically was to give us the rules and do's and don'ts. After getting back from the housing meeting, we all went our separate ways for a while. I rode the bus to Walmart. The buses are very convenient, but I overestimated just how much stuff I could manage to carry back from Walmart and ended up having a hard time getting it back to my aparment.

Day 2 - Work Assignments

The first day required signing a lot of documents, but day 2 was really signing your life away. The first stop was filling out all of the government paperwork required to legally work. After that we were given our work locations. I was assigned to Epcot Future World East Attractions, which is Test Track, Mission: Space, Universe of Energy and Spaceship Earth. I kept moving through the stations until I met one of my coordinators (bosses) for Epcot, who informed me that I had been assigned to....

Mission:Space

I was nowhere near thrilled that this was my assignment, because as all of you know, I am not a fan of big, scary, fast rides (but it's much better now). My roommates include a Jungle Cruise Skipper, a Hostess at Spoodles, a Hostess at Tony's Town Square, front desk at CSR, and attractions at Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Playhouse Disney

After finishing up with all of our stations, we went back to our apartments. I was puttering around in the kitchen and was wanting to cool off my bottle of water, so I opened the freezer door to find this...
champagneexplosion.jpg

Someone had left two bottles of champagne in the freezer overnight! Oops!

That evening our apartment hosted a dinner party. At one point in the evening there were probably 20 people in and around our apartment. Our apartment has basically become the hangout for a number of people and we have a few honorary roommates that are basically welcome at any hour.

Day 3 - Traditions

Traditions was fun, except for the fact that we had to be on the bus at 6:55am after staying up really late the night before. I rode the bus with Liz (roommate), Brad, and Guy (honorary roomies). I was glad to have Liz in the group I was in, it was nice to have someone I already knew to sit with. Traditions lasted until noon, and at that point we all had our IDs, so we could all get into the parks for free. We went back to our apartments to change. Liz and I made a run to Walgreens and while we were gone, the boys decided to do laundry, so we waited for them to finish before heading to the parks.

Around 3:15, we finally arrived at DHS. The first order of business was to ride RnR, I walked the queue with them, but exitted before the ride and did the same with ToT which was next. After that we went on GMR and then the Muppets 3:D show. We wanted to catch up to a few more friends that had the late Traditions class and see Wishes, so we headed over to MK. We all got there around 6:30, so we had an hour and a half to play before Wishes. We rode HM and then BTMRR! I actually rode it!!!! It scared me senseless and it took me about 10 minutes after exitting to get my footing back, but I survided it. We made our way back to Main Street and stood there in awe of Wishes as a group.

At that point, none of us had eaten since noon-ish, so we decided to grab dinner at Denny's. We had an awesome waiter, who kept bringing us soda even though we didn't order it and biscuits, and just random things. Most of us had to work the next day, so we piled back into the cars and came back to get some shuteye.

Day 4, 5, 6 - Training!!

Everyone in my apartment that was scheduled for Thursday had a morning schedule, except for me. I was scheduled to work from 1:15 til 10 that night at Mission:Space, so I took the opportunity that morning to do some laundry (yay for clean clothes!).

I arrived at the Cast building at Epcot to meet my trainer around 1, the first thing we did was get my costume....Now for those of you who have ridden M:S, did you notice how "interesting" the costumes are? They're light blue and grey with red ribbing and made completely of polyester! After suiting up, we went on a tour of the backstage areas that I am around and then went through the building as a normal guest. My trainer wanted me to go on the ride, but didn't force me to, so I managed to get as far as the loading bay and then decided to not actually ride.

We went over some of the more technical stuff regarding rides and then since the ride was slow and there was a bay that wasn't loading guests, I got to train on it instead of using the online simulations, which was a lot better. I also got to see the whole ride show without all of the ride in motion, which was nice and made me realize that I didn't ever want to ride the ride for real :).

Friday and yesterday, I opened and got to operate different stations of the ride with guests, with my trainer standing by.

Day 7 - Free Day!

Today's my only day off until next Saturday (when my family gets here!), so I'm dealing with some housekeeping things around the apartment and might go to the parks later if I feel better. I started feeling sick on Wednesday with a sore throat and cold and now its just a nasty cough which nothing seems to be kicking. Other than that today's plan is to be pretty mellow.

That's my first week in a nutshell (albeit a rather large nutshell :))

Huggie - Sounds like the painting is going well and you have applied the final coat. I bet you are ready to be finished. I just love fresh paint. It makes everything seem new.

Lake do you feel like you are sleeping in a strange place?

Uh, didn't :snooty: used to be on the main smilie page? :confused3

absolutely... it was a different feeling going to sleep last night in a much different room.
but this morning i am loving it.

Sulley- so glad the week went well an dthat you have met up with some of your facebook friends, that is pretty cool to get to meet them in person... haha I guess its kind of like meeting Mayers in person.
I too am on facebook, and I know what a marvel it can be. ( if anyone else is and want to be..."friends" just let me know. :P)

Hi Sulley! :yay:

So good to hear from you!! I was wondering when you were going to check in next.

WOW you have been a busy girl! Sounds like so much fun!

Glad you got the housing assignment you wanted. How did you like Steak & Shake? I love that place! :goodvibes

Will you be assigned to Mission Space for your whole stay? Or will you get to do different things? We've never ridden Mission Space before. I was thinking about DS8 & I trying the newer less intense version in May. Maybe you will get to work at Test Track next! That is one of our family's favorites!! DH is like you and doesn't like the fast rides, but last May I talked him into trying TT and he absolutely loved it!! It really isn't that scray, I promise!

Hey maybe your roommate that got assigned to CSR front desk can get me a good room in May!!

Can't wait to hear more of your exciting adventures! :cool1: Until then, well I'm stuck here in PA in the snow and cold. :sad2:

Have a great week! :grouphug:

Yay Sulley! What an awesome report. It was just like being there!

Woo Hoo for BTMRR! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

How 'bout that freezer! :scared1: Glad I didn't have to clean that up!

That is so cool that you know so many people from Facebook. I am sure that made for an easier transition for ya!

I love Mission Space! I think it is one of the most magical rides at WDW. I really feel like I am blasting off! Dd and Dh ride non-spinning so they do not feel  . But Ds and I ride the spinning. Last time I rode with ds, one of the CMs asked, "Will you and your SISTER be riding spinning or non-spinning?" :rolleyes1 Well, I know that I do not look like I could be his sister, but that CM made my day!

Just file that line in the back of your head, and save it for a magical moment for someone!

Green with envy! :thumbsup2
