My kids love it too. Especially ds when he was younger. He turns 12 in May. I have kept all of his Thomas and Brio. He got it out of the attic the other day and built some elaborate tracks. I am sure he will put it up before one of his buddies comes over to play PS3. He has to remain a cool dude with the guys. :thumbsup2

My oldest DS turns 12 in May too. May 9th for him. When is your DS's birthday?

It's funny how they can play like a little kid one minute, and then they are on the phone with the "girlfriend" the next. I spend most days confused lately...is he still my baby or is he my "young man"....It's kinda hard seeing them grow up sometimes!:o

Seacrest,
I know you aren't up yet, but I was wondering how your "clean Butter" was last night???;)

J.

It was Monday night actually. And yes, I told my family...no more crumbs in my butter.

I think my wife is going to give me my own butter dish now.

Hi Lake it is quiet today...MAYers must be out shopping....:)

Does anyone know a low priced shuttle/taxi service to the disney resorts????? I'm going through Magical express but my mother in law cannot so i need to find her one.... :confused3

Just got back from running my errands. I am not in a good mood! I got sloooowwww service everywhere I went, except the bank. The line was HUGE at the post office and only one girl working :scared1: and not much better at the grocery store or the pharmacy. Then I got home and got my mail. . . . . Didn't get my Disney package AGAIN. I was so sure it was coming today. I am so bummed! :sad1:

Marcy - What about the Poconos or Niagara Falls for your trip this fall?

DS' birthday is May 22. The word "girlfriend" scares me. My son and his buddies are are more into video games, star wars, ipods, and lord of the rings. They are also into Wierd Al and download him onto thier iPods all the time. They are total geeks and I love it. I took them all to see the last Star Wars movie when it came out. They had all seen it once, but when it ended they all stood up and cheered and applauded. They like girls and will say "I like Jane. She is cool. She knows all the charactors from Star Wars." Or "I like Susan, she totally rocks. She has beat all the levels of my favorite PS game." But they don't call each other yet. I can't even imagine it.

What is your son into?

I am gonna put on my Boogie Shoes and Get Down Tonight the entire time I am Shakin' my Booty. Let's hope I can still spell YMCA correctly. I am a little dyslexic on the C.

Shelly I know what you are feeling I thought i woul dhave received it yesterday or today too.... boo for me.....

We have used Tiffany Towncar. For four people it was cheaper than a taxi. It runs around $100 round trip. It may be that a taxi is the best choice for a single rider. Perhaps someone else here has better information.

I am "old enough" to remember KC and the Sunshine Band....I remember listening to them very well! I believe I even had a couple of their 45's! (Ok, that proves how old I am!:lmao: )

Have fun tonight!! Sounds like it's going to be a "boogie" night! :goodvibes

Marcy

Omgosh, YES!! My DS likes Weird Al too! Very funny!! I kind of use the term "girlfriend" loosely, because he's not allowed to call her his girlfriend (as per my DH and I!!) She has called here a few times, and he's called her on her cell phone a few times. We monitor it (he's not allowed to sit in his room and talk to her. He needs to be down in the kitchen). She goes to our church, so they see each other socially too (as well as in school). I think it's starting to fizzle out a little though, because her values aren't really quite as strong as my DS's. He's got pretty strong convictions about stuff, which I am totally thankful for!:woohoo:

My DS is totally into his PS2. He loves Star Wars, and any sport. He's a major statistics freak and could tell you anything about any player on any team. He wants to be a sports announcer for ESPN when he grows up! He's also into Harry Potter, and he listens to his MP3 player (no iPod here yet....not until Dad gets his first! LOL). He likes to write too...he's always writing stories and stuff.

Does your DS know about the Build Your Own Lightsabers at Once Upon a Toy in DTD? My boys just found out about those, and are totally excited about making one. Josh (the oldest) told me that's ALL he wants when we go. Just that lightsaber. We'll see how long that lasts! LOL

I booked it myself online. I got my ME stuff last week like 2 days after Michelle so I thought my package would be 2 days after her as well. Which would have been today!!

I guess I will just patiently wait with Lake & Mari. . . . . . . . . . . . :hourglass

Shelly,
We actually thought about Canada, but even further north (ok, so much for warm weather! LOL) We'd need passports though.... I'm more leaning towards San Francisco again. My cousin lives there, so she'd be able to be somewhat of a tourguide for us too.

The Poconos...well, we lived up there for a few months while we were in a job/housing transition. We've actually stayed at one of the Caesar's resorts up there (you know, the ones that have the champagne glass tubs?) once, a long time ago (it was a little on the weird side...kind of, ummm...sleezy? mirrors on the ceiling...etc. ) We are really wanting to go somewhere different, somewhere we've never been.

Gosh, by the time we figure it out, the Fall will come and go and we'll not have gone anywhere!:rotfl:

We were at the Poconos - Paradise Stream resort about 4 years ago for our 5th anniversary. It was alright, nothing great. We probably won't go back, too much money for all the more there is to do. Just thought it would be a short drive for you! Do you live near the Crayola Factory? We have thought about taking the kids there sometime.

If you were driving to canada you don't need passports until the new year. only to fly into the country do you need them.
there are a lot of great places you could go this side of the border.

Isn't it funny that they are into the same things and live far away from each other. My ds is really strong in his values also. His Sunday School class at church has been wonderful. It has encouraged them to set boundaries in relations, so that when it comes time to make a decision, they will have already decided. Like, I think as far as I will go at this is holding hands with a girl or when I am 16, this is how far I will go. When I am at a party and offered a drink/drugs/etc., I will .... The concept is that if they have already decided, when faced with the choice, they will know what their answer will be.

Cell phones are a hot issue around here right now. My ds doesn't have one because I am at all of his activities. We sort of think of it as a "need." One of his buddies just got one, not because he needed it but for social calls. It rang 3 times after school on the way to tennis last week. Two hang ups and one girl wanting to chat. I had to ask him to get off the phone. The tennis coach was giving my the evil eye. The lesson had started and he was still on the phone.

Oh well, it is great to know, parents all over the US are dealing with the same issues.

I have not told my ds about the Build Your Own LightSaber. I am afraid to. :scared1: I am sure he will want every part. We did get the Build Your Own Light Saber kit that Wal-Mart had. It was pretty cool. Another geeky thing my ds and his buddies do... They write plays. Plays about Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. They act them out at the Talent Shows at school. It is amazing the amount of lines they can memorize.
