Science question - Is a bulb part of the stem or root of a plant?

The Bulb:
A bulb is an underground, modified stem that develops in some flowering plants. Its purpose is to store food and water for the plant through a cold or dry season. Examples of bulbs include the tulip, narcissus, crocus, onion, lily, and garlic. The smallest bulbs are the size of peas; the largest (crinum lilies) weigh over 15 pounds (7 kg).

Just quizzing dd on her science and thought. This has to be wrong. The bulb is underground. Get this:

Bulb - a short vertical underground stem with fleshy storage leaves attached, e.g. onion, daffodil, tulip. Bulbs often function in reproduction by splitting to form new bulbs or producing small new bulbs termed bulblets. Bulbs are a combination of stem and leaves so may better be considered as leaves because the leaves make up the greater part.

Funniest thing to happen at WDW -

OK, We are waiting in line for the bus after a long day at AK. It is 90 degrees. Everyone is tired, hot, and smelly. For some reason, it seems to take forever for the bus to come. We are the 3rd family in line for the bus. The first family consist of a mom, with folded up double stroller, the dad with a tiny baby in a front pack, and one tired and cranky toddler, who is laying on the ground trying unsuccessfully to sleep. The next family, is a cute couple. She is a tiny little thing and as cute as could be and he was a big hulk of guy in a muscle shirt. By the time the bus arrives there must be twenty families in line. We are all craving some AC. The first family is having a terrible time trying to board the bus, the mom is trying to lug the double stroller on while carrying all the diaper bags, shopping bags, camera bag, etc. She had WAY too much stuff. The toddler is still laying on the ground. The dad starts trying to talk him up off the concrete. But he isn't budgin' and starts to throw a huge trantrum. The dad then starts trying to bend over to pick up the toddler. But each time he bends down, the baby starts to slide head first out of the front pack. Everything starts to escilate pretty quickly. We are hearing people behind us... "Get on the bus already." "Pick the kid up." The toddler is kicking and screaming at this point, "I want to sleep on the ground." "I want to sleep on the ground." The dad is still trying to bend over, and not drop the baby, but just can't get near the toddler without almost dropping the baby. The cute young couple in front of us starts trying to offer help. They offer to pick up the toddler and carry him onto the bus. But the dad is politely saying, "No thanks. I can handle it." Obviously, the first family is in desparate need of help. All of the sudden the cute little young wife pipes up, "Please, let my husband help you, he is professional hockey player. He can handle it."

I thought I would bust a gut. It was too funny.

OK..here is my story on something that happened while at disney...it is not the funniest, stupidest or embarrassing...it is why I do not...will not...can not ride Indiana Jones at DL.
...I suffer with kidney stones...Oh YES!... and while at DL I rode IJ and the next morning...I had to be rushed to the hospital...Now we where staying at the Disneyland Hotel on about the 8th floor and there I was....going down the elevator straped to a gurney and out the front entrance of the Disneyland Hotel...the best thing about this was the assnt. manager of the Hotel visited me the next day...and brought a beautiful bouquet of flowers...I did get out of the hospital that day and carried on with our trip...

Macy's was a bust. I didnt find anything. I have such a hard time finding dresses. It is always tight on top and too big on the waist. UGH

I am going to try another mall tomorrow.

Kristina - Sorry you didn't find your dress. I have the opposite problem. If it fits at the top and waist, the booty (KC expression) is too tight. It's been my dream for the top to be too tight.

I know a whole lot about kidney stones...I think I have been in the hospital a dozen times or more for them.

So you think the IJ ride induce a kidney stone attack?

That was nice of the DH to bring you flowers. I bet you never expected that.

Your story made me laugh! I had a visual of the baby just happily sleeping along while Mom busts her tail.

And the poop on you while pregnant...ewww! I can imagine how that would be just plain awful.
