We will be leaving this afternoon to catch our flight at 5:45 in the morning. Unfortunately we have had a rough couple of days as well. Our beloved chihuahua that we have had since my wife got pregnant with my daughter has been sick and finally yesterday I had to put him out of his misery. That was one of the hardest things I have ever done and telling my 6 year old daughter that he was not going to live and letting her tell him good bye broke my heart this is the first pet we have lost as a family and he was more like another child to us and burying him was very hard for me. I am ready to get this vacation started to get all of our minds off of it but right now the tears are flowing.

Oh, I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a pet. They become so much a part of the family and its always painful when they are gone. My husband and I had to put down our twelve year old German shepherd the day after Christmas in 2010 and it was very difficult to say goodbye. My prayers are with you. Hopefully, this cruise will help ease the pain for you and your family. Blessings!

Rough couple of days here. My mom, who will be 90 in June, is having some health issues. She, along with my brother and sister, wants my DD and I to still go the cruise. My brother and sister are both stepping up to the plate to watch over her in my absence (I'm the local one). Will wait to see what the next couple of days bring in terms of improvement. Our flight isn't until Saturday morning. I know in my head that I will be back in the lead role right after the cruise, but feeling more than a little guilty right now. Think it's my Italian Catholic upbringing - we thrive on guilt...and pasta....

Hugs and hoping that your mom improves soon. Knowing that your siblings will be there is a good thing. Mom would want you to go on the cruise no matter what, but the fact that your siblings, who tend to be more forthcoming about these things, want you to go too means that everything should be fine.

So, so sorry about your puppy!! We understand how pets are family. Just know that he is out of pain now and accept the fact that you will have a hole in your heart for awhile. And if it had to be done, better before the cruise when you can say your goodbyes, than if it happened during the cruise.

I can understand about the guilt, but just think of what she would want. We had a cruise booked with my Dad, but he ended up passing away a month prior to our trip. I wanted to just cancel and forget about it. But after thinking and talking I know he would want us to enjoy ourselves so we re-booked it months later.

I am sure you family wants you to enjoy the time with your children as well and come Monday you will be back with you Mom taking care of her.

My last work day. I can't wait to leave work at 5pm today. My DD is going to friends house after school, My friend is taking my son home with her after daycare and me and my Mom are getting pedicures.

Ahhhhhh. Can't wait to start my vacation!

We leave on a flight out of RI tomorrow at 7:25 hoping to be in Orlando by 10pm (if they get those tailwinds it's usually under 3 hours)

We left on time and half way through our flight something happened in the cockpit and the lost power in some of the instrument panels (or something). We had to fly in circles and burn fuel quickly in order to make an emergency landing After spending hours in Atlanta waiting on another plane we made it to the hotel about 2 am! Of course we had a character breakfast scheduled for 8:00. We made it and spent some time at HS, came back to swim and rest and well head to MK later tonight. I hope the rest of our trip is uneventful!!

Thanks Ladies! It was a little scary, but the crew handled it really well We even got some free round trip tickets because of all the delays and trouble, so it looks like the next cruise just got a little cheaper overall...haha.

I am just starting to pack (supposed to leave at 8 a.m.) and discovered I don't have room for all the FEs; I'm out of big suitcases. I'm going to put them in a box and trust that they won't get destroyed. Nothing is breakable so it should be okay. This is the part where Seth and I are in serious danger of strangling each other trying to get everything finished up. I can't wait to get on the road tomorrow.

This sounds insignificant compared to what some of you are going through, so I'm going to go pack and say prayers for good health, happy hearts, and safe travels.
