so today i am pulling my hair out over the passport thing!!!!! we have called everybody we know today trying to get my husband's passport done....somehow it has a hold on it but no one knows why and we cannot speak to anyone about it! they think the hold has now cleared and it should be precesses "soon"!!!!!! :scared1: :scared1: is it possible to get rid of the government!?:rotfl2:

I would be freaking! It seems that everyone else got theirs so I'm sure he will too.

I have psoriasis and occasionaly it will show up on my eyelids. I would wait and see what the doctor says though.

Speaking of which, my psoriasis has decided to flare and my legs look like I have chicken pox or something. I probably won't be able to wear a swim suit for the cruise, or even shorts for that matter. I'm kinda bummed. I get light therapy twice a week so I have a nice year-round tan and I won't be able to show it off. My light therapist says I need to get out in the sun though (to compensate for not having the light treatments during the cruise) so maybe I'll hide out on deck 7 aft.

I had a problem with a rash on my face back when we did the PC cruise in May 2005. One spot just to the right of my right cheek. It had been persistent for a couple of months but never checked it out before we left. Thought the sun on the cruise would take care of it. No luck. After returning I finally went to the doctor. He told me "It's a reaction to the flouride in your toothpaste!" He recommended getting Tom's Natural Toothpaste without flouride. Well I went to Walmart, bought some, the rash went away and hasn't been back! Still using Tom's to this day. Also when DD has had some problems with the same kind of thing on her face I made her start using Tom's and her's have gone away also.

DIdn't know flouride could do that.

We really need a new camera. Has anyone worked with a Nikon D50? :confused3 I dont know much about it except the photo quality is suppose to be amazing. Is it user friendly? Does anyone have a digital camera they would suggest we look at?

thanks!;)

Have you looked at the Kodak easyshare cameras. They are extremely user friendly and very good quality. I have a CX7525 but I don't think they make this model any more. My sisters looking at a C433 which also looks good.

If I waited until my skin was clear to wear shorts, I would never wear them. I have had really, really bad psoriasis for about 12 years now. Did the light treatment thing but got tired of traveling for 2 hours to stand in a box for 2 minutes, so I stopped. I have spots all over, but I don't let it rule my wardrobe. Sunlight is one of the best things for it. Whenever, I would travel to Florida, I would get major clearing in only a few days, but your skin has to be exposed to the sun to do it. From what I've read, no one on this board, is going to have time to care that you have some red & scaly spots while there is drinking, eating, and bunco playing going on. :)

Have you noticed any dietary triggers with your flareups? Mine flares up when I eat too much wheat. It was very depressing to find out I couldn't have Triscuits or Frosted Mini Wheats anymore. I should give it all up, but I can't. But if I have too much pasta, pizza and sandwiches in a week, bad things happen.

I wish we had the money for tickets. We've desided that it's best just to hang out. We are doing our Secret Mickey shopping at Downtown Disney and swimming at the pool. Ah, and not to forget, the best part of being there early, the wine party! (And cheese. :rotfl: )

It just feels so much closer now that it's May. Can you believe it? It's May already. :faint:

Lori

We're going to the wine party too!

I know what you mean. Suddenly its arrived!!!!!

My Dad has psoriasis on his legs and I understand your thought about it as it does look strange. He doesn't seem to care though and getting it out in the sun does help it as he always comes back off holiday better than when he goes. His looks like his leg is falling apart cause its all flaky but it always looks more normal after the holiday.

Oh my mum is seeing a Dermatologist about a rash on her face that sounds similar. She has a single spot that has been on her face for about 5 months now and never seems to go as well as a rash that comes to and goes so you never know this may be the cause. Thanks for the info.

Cynthia,
Thanks for the input. I never even thought ot call our optometrist. I do know our current doctor is great at figuring out strange things. but I guess it makes sense that an eye thing would require an eye doctor!

I think you need an opthamologist (medical eye dr), not an optometrist (vision stuff only), unless that's what you meant! I know I always say one and mean the other.

Now this is interesting. We have well water with no flouride in it at all. I procrsatinated and did not get around to testing it unitl we had been in the house over a year and still did nothing about it until the next well checks. Marika's well check got pushed into late Feb. becuase she was not "well" on the day of her original appointment. So, she started taking flouride for her teeth in late Feb or even early March. Hmmm--not too long before this started to appear. I would not have connected this dot. Shall have to mention to my doctor Friday.

Well, I was thinking our optometrist would be a good person to refer us to an opthamologist (not that I made that even remotely clear). But, Ithink I will wait to see what our doctor says first. He is fabulous at getting us in to see people on almost no notice if needed and knows all about this trip. But I Absolutely apprciate the advice from all of you.

Can someone tell me why I am excited to make magnets for my door and I do not have anything packed???

Total avoidance of the dreaded task!:headache:

So true!:rotfl2: My packing avoidance tactics this morning were
1. email three of DD13's teachers again about her missing school (no response to last weeks email from 3 of the 5 teachers) and the principal about missing the last day of STAR (state) testing.
2. 99 cent store again
3. Grocery store
4. Fabric store

Results:
1. Nada from the teachers still, BUT school is going to have DD13 take the last day's Tests on May 10 before we go:banana:  . She is a straight A student and they want her scores to count! She'll definitely score well in Math, Spelling - not so much:confused3 :rotfl2: .
2. Been here 3-4 times now and never can find anything I really want. I like the dollar tree better, but it is at the other end of town.
3. Really needed to do this - My family will be happy to have something beside "pantry surprise" for dinner again.:rotfl2:
4. Found cool red & white striped fabric on the clearance table - Now we have sashes for a pirate costume:thumbsup2

Now, I really should deal with that packing thing ... but I have pirate sashes to make! :rotfl2:

It's funny you mention that about the wheat. For about the last year, up until about two months ago, I'd been very laxed about eating wheat. I've been avoiding it for years. I'm fairly strick here at home, but if we are out, then I let it go. Anyway, up until the last two months my psoriasis has been a pain. I only get it on my palms, so most people don't see it and it only itches if it's really, really bad -- I'm sure you all know -- the blistery thingys. (That's a medical term, right?:rolleyes1 )

I'll just bet my hands are icky when we come home.

Lori

Just so everyone knows - I did not have any luck with the tabs for washing. I have one more place to try tomorrow. I hope that works. Everything here going well and looking forward to talking DVC. Erik - I know you and Jason leave soon. Have a great trip and I will miss your posts, but look forward to meeting you.

That's funny. Just got back from lunch. Made another trip to the scrapbook stores. Yep.....stores..........hit 2 in the last hour!

Packing............what's that? The day I leave I just throw things in :wizard: and see what I end up with :scared1:

BTW---

DCL is calling to find out why you don't have transfers. They called and were concerned about me getting to the airport in Barcelona. Told them no worries, we were staying on the ship and not getting off. I asked them if they ever heard of "squatters". :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Actually, told the CM we were staying in Barcelona for a couple of days and not flying home until Monday. So they marked in on my record. Funny thing though, when I filled out the on-line documents, I put in all the information, so they can see that I'm not flying home until Monday if they looked............

Oh.....wait.............I forgot. They are working out of the shoebox again. 1 shoebox for transfers arranged, 1 shoebox for no transfers. So if you are in the "no transfer" shoebox, you might be getting a call! :hippie:

Good to know. Did you ask them when/if we will all get magnets? 0h wait, that would be a different shoebox!:rotfl2:

Well, someone asked how we got a "free" trip to DL Hong Kong.

On the September, 2005, SS Member Cruise, one of the add on incentives was if you added 250 points, you got 7 nights accomodations at the DL Hong Kong Hotel and park admission each day, plus food vouchers every day, plus free souvenir coupons (i.e. photos, cookies). We added on 250 points. I had FF mileage, so we flew over on Singapore Airlines (first class for me, business class for DH and coach for DD) and had a wonderful time. Loved DL Hong Kong.

Each year on the member cruise there is a special incentive offered.

We started with 210 points in 1994. Then we added 190 points in 1996 for a total of 400 and then added 250 in 2005 and now have 650. We don't regret our add ons at all.

And, we have no problem using our points either!

Now that is AWESOME! I SO would have done that in a second!!! Thanks for telling me about it. I would love to hear more about it on the ship! I am a Disney parks of the world junkie!

Michelle2 - just noticed that you are on the eastbound pc cruise. Why don't you switch to the westbound with a group of us? :cool1:

Discovered about an hour ago that one of the bunnies (the shy one who always hides in the corner so it is easy to miss what is going on with her) is very sick. Rail thin under her fur and bleeding from her behind (blood on hutch was what tipped me off to fish her out and check on her) and very lathergic (sat on grass and didn't even try to hop off. We are headed to the vet in a half hour. I feel terrible as she may have been sick for a week or so without our realizing it and she seems so miserable. Two crying kids here (okay and one crying mommy). SEND GOOD VIBES THIS WAY. Thanks.
