Hi everyone

Here is a wrap up on the beach volleyball tournament. Matt lost his first match yesterday to a higher ranked team. He then won his second match - again against a higher rank team. And he finished the tournament with a lose in his third match - again against a higher ranked team. So he finished in 7th place. He was very happy because this is his best finish ever. He also picked up a sponsor to help pay travel costs for the rest of the season - so that is huge!

Thanks for all the positive comments.

Ken

Should we use your trip report as our main thread on that board? I know a lot of people are anxious to see how things go on the sailing.

What about posting on the Med Thread? Is that viable?

We will not be making it to DL tomorrow after all. We are all so tired here and I did not get done nearly as mch packing today as I should have. :rolleyes1
DD5 is so tired from how busy we have been that she is the one tonight that said she did not want to go. You do not have to tell me twice at this point.
I was looking forward to meeting you guys tomorrow but I guess it will have to wait till next Saturday. :)
Enjoy your day!

Yep, us too. DD has had quite a reaction to her vaccinations and has a 3 inch red ring around her arm as of last night. she's still asleep, but if she isn't better we have to go to the emergency walk in today! UGH:headache:

Don't fret it is not breakable, rip that puppy outta there.....:thumbsup2

Just amazed that most of them arrived at nearly the same time.

I'm pretty surprised by that too. Since everything else all year has been so varied across the country

Man, that is really cool news.

My father-in-law still doesn't have his passport. He's making me crazy. He didn't mail it in until March. Up until now he's been lying and telling us he sent it expedited in February. He finally came clean. He's out in LA this week and he figured he'd just stop by the passport office and pick it up. HA HA. I've been telling him he needs to make an appointment and it's not easy. He's acting like I'm coocoo. I talked to him yesterday and he said he called the passport people and they said his passport is in New Hampshire right now and he should have it soon. He seems to think this isn't a problem - BUT ITS MAKING ME CRAZY.:scared1:  Thank you for letting me rant.

OH YOU POOR THING! Just remember.....he's a grown up. He can deal with this, you have enough to do......he's a grown up.....he can deal with this....you have enough to do. Repeat repeat repeat!

Great news! With a sponsor you can afford to go on another cruise!

My mother-in-law doesn't have her passport either. My husband called Thursday to get an appt in LA or SF and was told there was nothing available for Mon/Tues. We leave Wed early am. We had to make an appointment in Miami for Friday. You really need to scare a little movement into your father-in-law. My sister's friend had an appt in SF last week for 8:30 am and she didn't get out of there until 5:30 and there were hundreds of people there. He may not be one to worry but he needs to get moving on this or he may be looking at your pictures when you get home.

MrsQ

I don't have you on the lanyard list. If you are interested - I need the first names of everyone in you group ASAP. Time is running out.

Oddman and Thumper's Mom. Time is running out to be included in the Lanyard giveaway.

Hi Everyone

With people starting to leave for our great vacation adventure, I thought I would remind everyone about how you can get your lanyards and name badges.

1. I will be at the Hyatt on May 11th. I plan to be in the lobby from 9:00pm to 9:30pm for anyone staying there on the night before the cruise. So stop by and pickup your lanyards if you are staying at the Hyatt on May 11th.

2. I will probably be at the port at about 11:00am. I will find a spot and have the lanyards available once I get checked in. It shouldn't be to hard to find me. I will be the guy with the open suitcase giving out lanyards. I will be available in the terminal right up to when they call my number.

3. I will have the lanyards and name badges with me at the 3:00pm dismeet on deck 10, starboard, above the goofy pool. I will be there from 3:00 until about 3:45 or so. Stop by and meet the people you've been typing to for so long.

4. If we don't connect at one of these locations, it is now up to you to find me. We are in room 6547, so you can call and setup a time and location to connect. I WILL NOT be leaving the lanyards and name badges at your door.

Hope this all makes sense.
Ken

Just think this time in a week we will be on the beach at Castaway Cay!!

Cheers!!

Thank you very much for the offer. We live about 4 1/2 hours away in Clovis. I have to work until Tuesday and think we will just go to Miami. A client called my husband and he promised them he would landscape their home before we left so we can't leave to LA sooner. Thank you very much for your kindness. Look forward to seeing everyone.

How is everybody going to get a case of water on the ship? I really do not want to carry an extra suitcase to put water in. Any suggestions?

gydell / pooh & tinker: Hmmm An extra room for the kids. :cool1:

cquick: he's a grown man, he can deal with it.....he's a grown man he can deal with it. (It's working)

Mrs. Q: I've been bugging him so much over the past two weeks that I am exhausted. I think I'm done. ALSO, sending your family some pixie dust.

I just talked to my husband. My FIL said "they say it should arrive soon and if it doesn't arrive in the next two days to come into the LA office no appt. necessary and they will take care of it."

It doesn't sound like something they would say to me, given the last few posts about this office.

We are packing all the dispossables in a big cardboard box. Hope that flies with Disney..

I did it again...lost that list that Ken puts up. I have looked at page 498 - 502 without success. Could someone please give me a post number? The old list at post 2131 hasn't been updates since 4/26. I am sure there have been updates since then.

Thanks

Cayla

There is always the link on the roster :thumbsup2 :surfweb:

Oh that is great! Congratulations to him on the sponsor. That is a big thing :)

Good luck to all of those with passport issues. I could not even imagine that stress!

As soon as I get home I am sending mine in to be renewed as it will be within the 6 months of expiration (just make that by a week!)

Beautiful day here in Ohio.

One week from now I will be having lunch on Castaway Cay!

Since I am relatively new I thought I would throw out a couple of questions. I am currently booked at the Cypress Hyatt, nice pool, coming in on the 10th. Should I consider the airport Hyatt? I have Hyatt points so it is not a problem to switch if they are not too booked.

Is there an itenarary for what is happening on what night? I see the info about pirate night and the semi-formal and formal night but is there anything else I should let my DW know about while she is out rampaging the malls.

We plan on taking a rental car from the MCO and dropping it in Port Canaveral (Avis). I was planning on droppping the family off at returning. We were thinking around 9:30. Does that make sense?

We have a cat12 grt and were wondering when they will give us any upgrade if they can. Will it be at the terminal? If it is, is it on a first come, first serve basis?

Online it looks like Palo's is booked every night. Is it possible to book any nights when we get on the ship?

Here's the big one. My son has a very serious peanut allergy. I went online to fill out the medical report but it says I need to send it in 14 days in advance. We'll have the form with us completed. I made a note of it on the camp registration form and we will speak with chef and waiter when we go to the restaurant. Any other suggestions?

On another note...
OMG, I can't beleive we are going, my head is spinning. I have the week off so my DW can pull it all together for the family.

Keep checkingthe DCL wabsite. It will continue to have a cat 12 listed for you but should also have a room # listed. Then check the # and see what cat it is.
Palos can also be booked on board as soon as you board the ship.

Never having cruised before with such an organized group, I have a couple of questions.

We will be bringing a small gift for the kids. Do I need to print off the roster list before we leave so I have cabins numbers and names, or will that info be included in the "Mini Navigator" that I have seen mentioned in these postings?

I know I've also read about people getting upgrades at the pier - will those cabin changes be posted on the message boards on each deck, or only one location? If only one - where will that be?

Any special plan for distributing gifts or just whenever we get around to it?
