May 12, 2007 -- Taking the Magic to the Mediterranean -- 14 day Repo Cruise! - Part 3

We have no idea when we'll be able to swing WDW next, but May is sounding mighty tempting here!;)

We will definately have to plan something for May. That would be KEWL!!!!

Ok! :)

This trip I had a few points that I had to use up, so I got a 1 bedroom at OKW.

How about, Friday May 2 have an open house in the evening. I will be happy to host it. If only I can invite some of my other Disney friends that will also be there at the time :)

Let me know!!

Debbie

We are in a studio at the AKV for that stay, so sounds good to us. Other Disney friends are KEWL!!!

What dates is everyone planning on being at WDW in May? If we can't make the PC cruise, this might be a viable option for us.

AWWW....Jason and I are going to miss all the WDW fun in May?!? That sux!

We probably won't be able to go back until Sept. before our next cruise. We've been so many times this past year including hte repo cruise that we probably can't afford another trip, financially OR time-wise. Jason has a huge project at work they've been working on that is slated to go on the market at hte end of summer 2008....so he isn't sure he is going to be able to get away from work....and my agency has just written a new grant for an exciting new project that would dramatically expand the work I do and, if we get the funding, would likely translate into a promotion in both salary and title for me in the creation of a whole new mini-department of my agency and hiring staff to supervise, etc. We will learn about that grant in the next couple months and if we get it, the grant would start in April '08---so I'll be spending April and May getting the program off the ground, interviewing and hiring staff...and then the summer training them. So come Sept (time of our next trip and cruise) I'll be due for a trip....but probably will have no opportunities before then.

Jason and I are snowed in here today.....gladly! :lmao: I'm actually not a big snow fan (I prefer the kind of snow they have at the Osbourne Lights or on Main Street in MK-----you know it looks real pretty as it floats to the ground but magically never reaches the ground or settles or gets wet and slushy or slick....and magically falls in 80 degree weather...:rotfl: ). HOWEVER, today's snow storm is actually a welcome respite. Even though it's Sunday I was supposed to have cheerleading practice today from 9am to noon, then a coaches meeting from noon to one, then my youth support group from 2pm to 4pm, then another set of work meetings from 4 to 6 then leave to drive 90 minutes to Syracuse, NY to give a lecture tonight from 8 to 10 then turn around and drive back home. Well in the midst of the weather literally every single one of those things got cancelled! So for the first time in ages we have a day where we both just get to hang out at the house alone all day. We put up our tree today and watched TV...and cooked a nice brunch....very nice! Our tree and bannister are decorated entirely with tigger and roo ornaments and decorations! :thumbsup2

Hi All,

The May get together sounds fun. I wish we could join you. It is not likely though. We wil be heading to Colorado for a long weekend in March for Hank's (my father in law--he was on the cruise so some of you may remember him) 70th birthday. That will take up our spring travel budget. Our next trip to the world will be the week before our double dip crusie in Spetember (unless we get a GREAT deal on airfare and hotels before then in which case we may try for a short visit--we have three day park hoppers we won't need for the Spetember trip just calling to us). So, all of you have a blast and report back to us instead please.

Susie--Sorry you are having to wait so long to hear back from Adventures By Diseny. The waiting is always tough. We are still thinking about you and sending pixie dust your way:wizard:

Erik--That grant sounds very exciting. We will send pixie dust your way as well. Let us know how it turns out, okay?:wizard:

Not sure about us, Barbara is going to Italy in May, but she might be at WDW for the flower & garden show. I will let her know. I was planning on the end of May for the Star Wars Weekends (not announced yet :( )

Cayla

Hey Erik! I think you will need a nice break for the weekend to have a clear head to start your grant :)

Hadley - Ya never know when a good airfare can come around :)

Hey Cayla! - The AK event is May 3...which is why I will be there :) My other Disney friends are my pin friends. You can kill 2 birds.

It will be a great get together!

I have been tossing that one around. I think it is 175.00 per person, for a buffet dinner and the pin event of 3 hours. the Sept event is 100 for 4 days. I am not sure about it because of the cost...

I will talk to Barbara and Stacey, but we are most likely skipping the Sept event as well. (no pooh pins usually...that is who I collect exclusively!)

Hadley - I use Jet Blue, not sure if they fly from your city, but for 89.00 each way I really can't beat them!

Hi Susie

I am going to be there 4/29 - 5/5. It would be fun!!

Debbie

Hi Debbie! I will be there from the 2nd of May until we board the ship for the PC. We would love to see everyone before hand! We just got all three rooms confirmed so we are so EXXXXCCCCITTED!!!!!!!

Thanks Cayla. We are usually best on Southwest out of Manchester and do usually fly for about $150 RT per person. I know htat is a good deal, but when you haev to purchase 4 seats it still adds up. And, Dave's job is still very, very tenuous at the moment, so we just are trying really, really hard not to spend much if we can help it in case we suddenly find ourselves with no income and needing to move in a terrible housing situation:mad: I HATE not knowing what is going to happen and this drawn out 4 months of "just keep doing the temorary stuff and we'll let you know" is awfully hard for me to deal with (oddly Dave seems to handle it well MOST of the time).

Wow - I imagine that is frustrating!! I have things planned out so far that Stacey and Barbara both think I am nuts! I know what I am doing next year at this time already...I have to...(just a little OCD I think!)

Good luck with the job thing. I hope it all works out for you guys.

I can see where airfare is a big deal...I tend to forget that there are more than one or two people in most groups (since I pay solo it does slip my mind!)

Happy holidays to you and yours....and everyone else of course!!

Someday I will jet down to WDW as often as I wish, but when I have to pay for 10 air tickets to take the family, I'll have to settle for every other year! :headache: I always thought that would be enough and that we were lucky to go that often. Recently, i have discovered that I have a Disney addiction and need a "fix" more than every other year. Scott and I will need to sneak down in between family visits.:thumbsup2

Hello, my name is Deanna and I am a Disney-aholic.

I will take one step at a time with my addiction......I wonder how long it would take me to walk to WDW?:lmao:

Deanna I really can't imagine needing 10 tickets:eek: And that's what, 3 hotel rooms? I bow down to your vacation planning abilities.
So how is everything going?

Cayla--thanks for the sympathy. I am a planner as well which is killin' me. But, good news I hoe, Dave has an interview in January at a plant only 20 minutes from home (just found out today--it is in January).

Hello Everyone! Merry Christmas!

We are looking for as much information as we can about the nursery aboard the Magic! My girlfriend Ann who is coming along on the PC, her and husband just adopted a son. He will be 11months and 1 week when we board the ship in May. So how does it work? Does it run the same as it did for my 4yr old almost 5yr old? Check in port side get pager and we are good to go.??? Is there a charge for under 2yrs old? How does sit work for shore excursions? Is the nursery open during that time? My girlfriend also has a 7 yr old and mine is 5yrs old so I know they go into the same age group at the club. As you can image we have lots of questions and need to prepare ourselves. (yes we are planners too not as bad as Cayla but close behind.) So any and all information would be greatly appreciated. you can always pm too. :confused3

I have mentioned that Flyboy is home on Christmas Eve and Day for the first time in 12years. Needless to say I am over jumping for joy because DD is getting it this year.!!!! :yay:

Does anyone know if you have RCI can you use your points for airfare? My girlfriend, Ann, the one mentioned above has RCI and didn't know if she can use any of it on DCL. I said I wasn't sure but I would check.

Thank you all very much in advance for your help with all of our questions!!! :santa:

We are doing okay, still building up the consulting business, so still poor, but we are having fun during this holiday season. It's kinda weird living in an affluent neighborhood and having a $150 budget for Christmas for a family my size! It's actually very good for us. We are concentrating on quality experiences and making things for each other rather than getting caught up in the commercialism, which we used to enjoy very much.:) $tuff is fun, no doubt, but how I'm seeing my kids grow from this experience is pretty good, too.

I'm sorry that your husband's job situation is still tenuous. Is he looking elsewhere or just trying to hold on? I'm sure the worry is very stressful for you. Being a SAHM is great, except sometimes you can feel a bit vulnerable in times like these.

Rufustee, LOVE your posts always. They so reflect your fun personality! Glad flyboy will be joining you for Christmas! It might be weird since you're not used to it!

LOL eller! Does this mean you are attending the meeting with me?!;)
