May 12, 2007 -- Taking the Magic to the Mediterranean -- 14 day Repo Cruise! - Part 3

I know people seem disappointed in the '09 listings, but since we love the Eastern Caribbean cruises so much, it looks interesting to us. For us, the ship is where the Magic lies, more than the ports of call anyway, so wherever the destination, we can't be disappointed. Soon enough there'll be two more ships, and no doubt plenty of new adventures to choose from!

Nice to see posts from everyone. Incredibly busy this month here too. Hope everyone is enjoying the Holiday season!!!

Well said,

Hi all, been busy at work, as it seems we are on the road at least a couple of days each week. I hope to retire in 1.5 years, earlier than first planned but this pace is getting to me.

Working on finishing the basement, and making good progress, should have it almost framed in this weekend. We are concentrating our efforts on the bathroom.

We are under a winter storm warning/watch, meaning the roads are really slick and ice covered, travel is no fun, 4-6 “ of snow on the ground…. Typical Wyoming winter stuff, as they are calling for freezing ice on top of it all.

We scored plenty of building supplies so have more than enough to keep us busy inside. The pups do get boarded so will try and get them for a short walk or two, maybe wrestle in the snow.

Since the Tower of Terror race I have had an issue with my hip/groin, getting slowly better, would like it to be faster. Have the WDW ½ marathon in a few weeks. Lynn’s training is going well.

Still need to get the Christmas cards out. Lynn did a great job getting the Christmas packages together and we got those shipped yesterday.

We just returned from 9 days at WDW:cool1: The weather was fabulous! I do not remember a December where I never had to put on long pants or a long sleeve shirt! Sweatshirt in the evening was all we needed. But now I am back to freezing rain and 32 degrees.

Had a nice dinner with Eric and Jason at Boma the first night they arrived. Last night had dinner with Sandi, Darrell and Abby (Hoagie Pie), and Eric and Jason at Germany prior to the Candlelight Processional. Our own Anna (Nanaguide) was performing right in the center of the tree!

Then afterwards enjoyed Illuminations. What a wonderful way to end the trip. My next trip is planned for April/May, but we just may have to go down before that!

Back to work tomorrow...

Debbie

Wow, thanks for the awesome photo, Anna you look wonderful! Glad to hear it was great all around Debbie--I can't believe I left for WDW a month ago today. I'm already jones-ing to go back myself! Good luck acclimating back to the real world. Ugh;)

That is a great picture, I'm excited to see it too. We'll be at OKW for the first time and I have some questions:
Do they have a hairdryer? clock radio? silverware, dishes and cups?

Debbie: how is your foot?

OK I can answer a little bit of this

Yes to cups and silverware oh and hair dryer. Fairly (99%) sure there was a clock radio too.

There is definately a hair dryer and clock radio, if you are staying in a one bedroom or larger, you will have a full kitchen, with almost anything you will need for your stay. If you are staying in a studio, the plates supplied are paper, and the silverware is plastic, they provide coffee pot, microwave and small fridge and I think a toaster (we do not stay in studios very often).

Debbie, Thanks for the Pic.

When will you be there in May???? I think we are there 5/2 - 5/6 there about.

Hi All,
I don't manage to post over here very often but I am still reading along and enjoying hearing from everyone.
I really enjoyed the photos of the "wave pool" and the lights in Wyoming. And Deb I love the photo of Anna singing. Thanks for posting that.
We have really been keeping busy. We have become the "party house" for the theatre group we are now invloved in. This means we host a cast party or two for every show, a poker night once a month and a few other events (a few borthdays--including mone on Saturday:) ). We are even having a wedding here on New Year's Eve. And yes, we force everyone to listen to stories of (and see photos of) our fabulous repo cruise.
We do not have any more trips to Diseny planned until September (for a week at the world and then the Double Dip). Taht seems soooooo far off it is killing me. If any of you eat at Tusker house or Yak and Yeti at AK I hope you'll post a review for me:thumbsup2 Thanks.

Thanks for the great picture Deb - it was wonderful to see everyone and we had such a blast! Scott - I hope you are feeling better. I am looking forward to 2008 and slowing down a bit. If you are heading to Orlando, please let us know. We have had so much fun with our friends from the repo. Suzy - have you heard anything about your interview? We were thinking of you.

Sandi,
Tahnks for askign about Suzy. I have been thinking about her too, but it slipped my mind when I was posting. SO, Suzy, tell us how it went (keeping our fingers crossed here in NH for you). And Scott, it also slipped my mind htat you are injured. We are hoping you recover quickly.

Thanks, Actually gettting a little better each day, just wish the roads were clear, I really haev a hard time with teh tred mill.

Debbie, Thanks for the Pic.

YAY! We will be there 4/29 - 5/5! I will be there for my birthday on 4/30 and there is a Pin Event on 5/3 at AK in the evening.

Are you doing the Minnie Marathon??

Kelly - Definately a clock radio.... just a note.... make sure that it is not set from the previous tenant

Debbie

Debbie - Thanks so much for the picture. Would you mind e-mailing it to me in a PM so I can make a print. The lady in the row behind me is a friend and she would like me to make her a copy. It was so good to see everyone at Illuminations. At work tonight during our briefing my boss said to the guides that Anna's disboard friends closed down Epcot on Saturday night. I told him we like to chat - he said they were worried we wouldn't go home. Abigal is a doll - what personality. Tomorrow Kelly and Zoe arrive. My grandson, Aiden, has already decided he and Zoe are going to be best friends when they meet.
It has been so much fun seeing so many from the cruise this Fall - except I didn't see Chris and Rob. Next year when I'm in Vegas I will call. Scott, I am up to 22 miles so I think I'll be able to do the 26.1 on January 13 - got my fingers crossed that I stay healthy. We leave on our Christmas Wonder Cruise in less than 2 weeks. I am so excited!!! :cool1: :cool1: Happy Holidays to all of you.

Debbie, Thanks for the Pic.

Well, it sounds like we are having a big May reunion that week (with Debbie going as well), we will be there too for the PC. Even if we don't go on the PC we will be there. Lynn, are you doing the Minnie? Nanaguide and I are doing it - well, I'm doing the 5K and she's probably doing both.

If any of you eat at Tusker house or Yak and Yeti at AK I hope you'll post a review for me:thumbsup2 Thanks.

I've been thinking about going there since nanaguide mentioned it. I'll let you know if we make it. And I will be going to Kringla (?) now that I know the secret of pretzels.:cheer2:

MMMMMMMmmmmm pretzles:love: I'm glad you liked them (and I was so very happy to get that yummy treat last May--you are too sweet). Anyway, I happened to get an email from Erik this morning in which he mentions that he and Jason dined at the Yak and Yeti and really liked it (and I hadn't even asked him about it--we are just on the same wavelength I guess:rotfl2: ). So, there you have it, Yak and Yeti recomended by our own Jason and Erik (but I would sill love to hear other impression of it as well;) )

Suzy - have you heard anything about your interview? We were thinking of you.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I haven't heard yet. They said we should hear by the second week in December, so it should be soon. I even let my annual pass expire in anticipation of possibly being a cast member next year. I feel sort of lost without it. I was up in LA on Sunday and could have stopped by DL, but then remembered that I didn't have a pass.

As many of you know, I walked all the way down from the top of the rock in Gibralter and my foot has been hurting me ever since. It actually had been bothering me before that, but that was the final straw. It's been getting worse, so I finally went to the doctor. He diagnosed it as tendinitis and put me in a boot. What a pain. I have to take it off to drive. Doesn't sound too bad until you end up running 4 or 5 errands at a time and have to constantly take it off and put it on. The doctor said I would have to wear it for 6 to 9 weeks. It's been two weeks and I really haven't noticed much of an improvement. I guess it's just as well that I don't have a DL pass right now - less of a temptation.

We are actually both doing the Minnie, we got talked into it by some of our running friends, they assured Scott that quite a few men do the race, and it will be the last one, so we felt we had to do it for that reason. We will be doing the 15K. We will see you there.

Hey everyone,
We are finalizing Rio's b-day party list adn sending out invites today. He is lamenting that he cannot have his cruise friends at the party.
