Hi! We're a last minute add to the 14 day cruise! We can't wait. I'm traveling with my mom and my five year old daughter. We haven't been assigned a state room yet but I did sent an email to Debbie and have asked to be included in the roster. If you could add us to this list I'd be grateful.

Thanks,
Beth

:cool1: Welcome Beth!:cool1:

Stateroom upgrades: Okay, I only have 6 to work from, but so far it looks like the less you had booked the lower cat. room you ended up with  (not very Disney like in my opinion). I would LOVE more data. So please, if you haven't answered yet and you were assigned a room having booked at gty 12, which cat did you get and how many excursions and spa appointments did you have booked (not counting Palo as DCL doesn't make much there and just about everyone books as many of those as they can).

Hadley,

We booked a cat 12 gty, 2 Rooms (2 in one room and 4 in the other). We got up graded to cat 9 (2 rooms side by side). We rebooked while on the ship and got tips paid, in Feb. We booked Palo dinner within the first few days. We added one excursion (6 people) at the end of March. No spa appoinment. I added 2 more excursions (6 people) yesterday.

Are you taking in to consideration how many cruises people have taken with DCL?

Oops I guess names would be helpful there.

Christin -21 (Yes this is spelt correctly)
Dianna - 18
Beverly - 56

How manys posts do you need to send a pm?

I haven't received any docs here either - and I have a 4 nt on the Wonder right before this one. When should I start to worry? Do we still get the docs even if we fill in the online forms?

Getting a little nervous but I know I will have a great time on this cruise and get some much needed R n R.

As long as you signed in online, you really don't need the docs. Don't worry-you'll get them on time.

My first thought before upgrades came out was that past crusiers and/or early bookings would have priority. But, this did not pan out at all (many people who have never crusies DCL got upgraded past us--and others--who have cruised before; and when you booked did not seem to have an affect either). I always like to figure out how they do things (if you see a family excitedly discussing load speeds or traffic flow at the parks it's probably us:rotfl: ) It is not like Disney to really be random about anything, I am sure there is some reason for why they do what they do--the trick is to figure it out;)

Welcome aboards! You may want to go back to the first post on page 143 of this thread for some general info about getting on various lists. I've already added you to the lanyard list.

Just to remind folks about checked luggage on low cost airlines.

click air, Ryan air and other no frills companies have really strict checked luggage rules.

1 you must prepay a "handling" fee or pay higher at the desk for each piece.
2 strict 1 checked piece per seat.
3 strict weight limit with really high overage charges. (limits are around 35 pounds)
4 NO sharing of weight limits each bag must be within range.
5 low MAX weight of baggage even with overage charge.
6 smaller carry-on limits and highly enforced

Many low cost European airlines make a killing off of these charges, they can really hurt .

Airlingus also fly out of BCN (or area) if you are doing a transatlantic flight within two weeks they will waive most restrictions. Other airlines may not do this.

oddman - are you on this cruise? If so, you may want to get on the cruise list. Go back to the first post on page 143 for info.

We are just as curious as you!! We are always looking see how it works. I love to hear what you are finding out.

Do you think that booking through a travel agent, online with DCL, or by rebooking on the ship makes a difference? Just another angle to think about.

Hey, is anyone flying SWA? If so, I have a book of drink coupons that will expire at the end of June if you want them. We will never use them, I will send them to the first person who PM's me with their address. I think there is about 10.

4 weeks from today, at this time we will be checking out our rooms!!!

Sorry to hear about Kathy's ankle. My BIL sprained his ankle at his bachelor party 2 days before the wedding. My sister was not happy! How lovely to have a giant blue cast in all of your wedding photos!

We cancelled all but the horse show for this leg of the trip. So there may be some new openings for excursions.

In Gibraltar is any one going to do a tour once they get off the ship or are you just doing it on your own?

Dear Pirate Julie, I have never done a trans atlantic, but I expect it will be cool and windy on deck. We are bringing windbreakers and sweaters as well as shorts and t shirts! We're gonna be ready for anything! I think it will be warm in Spain.

Dear Gismo, I put a website about Gibraltar up a few pages back, It's http://www.discovergibraltar.com/ It gives many good tips on how to tour the island. Connie

Hi ^_^

My mom and sister and I are booked for this sailing. I was having trouble pm-ing so I wanted to introduce us here and hopefully get added to list. We are:
Myself - F/21
My sister - 18
My mom - 55 (Her bday is during the cruise)

I was also wondering if anyone knew if there would be anyone my sister and I's age on the ship. We're not really that typical crazy college kids anyway (my fave activities are the shows and the board games LoL) but I was hoping there would be a few people our age.

Well, My son Mike is 28, and he's on the cruise. A big older than you, but I am just a year younger than your mom! So we'll get along just fine! Connie

This will be our 9th cruise. No upgrades so far. Was told once by a CM in the terminal that there is no rhyme or reason to the upgrades (when available). Just kinda happen.:wizard:

:wave2: With our cruise being only 4 weeks away, we need to finalize the children's gift list. This way all the wonderful volunteers, can have a chance to get their 'items' ready.

Sunday will be the last day, that you can get your child added to the 'Children's Gift List'. Everyone that is on Debbie's Cruise list has at this moment has already been added! I am looking for anyone that is not on this list. If you would like to add your child, please send me a pm with: your name, child's name, age, & stateroom #.

So if anyone is still lurking:surfweb: ... please come join us!! :thumbsup2

I want to say a special thanks, to everyone who signed up to purchase & deliver gifts!!!!

:cold: 35° and SNOW! right now. :cold:
:confused3 I thought it was spring?!?! It's heading your way Debbie.

Spending the afternoon listening to RM, looking at some of the ports we will be visiting and trying to get into the cruise mood.

Can't believe that Scott is not packed yet. :lmao:
We usually start thinking about what we need 4 weeks out. Do the actual packing the week of the cruise.

Someone mentioned baggage restrictions. We are on Delta for the flight back. 2 bags each. 50 lbs. Along with the one carryon and a personal item. :thumbsup2

Everyone have a good weekend.
