I just have to commnet on the phones. I do realize many of you are leaving behind children, pets, etc. and do have to saty in touch. We are having the opposite problem amd HOPING we manage to sneak away before work manages to realize they'll only get hold of David if they force him to take the blackberry. One of my favourtie parts of a cruise is being unaccessible to the "real" world.

I too like to shed that electronic leash.....

I'll be there too. Have no fear! We will not be going for an upgrade, I still like to be in the first boarding groups---that's just how I am...always have been the first ones in the terminal! Unless you are talking early early, then we won't be there....lol

Me Too, no upgrade, no reservation rush, just like getting there early....I guess mt early early is early.

I am surprised at how many folks like Parrot Cay… That is KEWL.

I do enjoy the Navigator lecture series on the cruise, most have been great. Wonder who it will be Jason Serell (sp? Or Joe Rohde would be good.

HEY LINDA!!!!! Is Ducky on Board with us????

We also played Bunko last night, it was a get together for our unit at work, first time for us, I won the traveler prize and Lynn and I were tied for the most losses. Easier than I thought.

We are planning a Ducky Race as a summer unit party for the group. I am lucky to work with a great bunch of very dedicated folks and it will make the last part of my career fly by.

Off to Richmond VA for a week of training, and it is supposed to be a brain filling class. Leave for Denver in about an hour.

I didn’t know there was trivia for drinks at the mixology classes, there was this time in Honduras that I won a Tequila Trivia contest. All I can say is living at altitude was a good thing that night.

Door signs—I use a combo of several print programs and imported graphics. Print them on the 8X10 magnet paper.

Hope there is a DVC meet, I am up for some KEWL freebies from DVC. I should have gotten a commission for the 11 night cruise as I know several folks who bought after taking to us. I am sure we were not the main reason, but the OKW meet was like an open house. LOL

Is anyone taking fish extenders on this cruise? Debating whether I need to make another one as I have 2 but our party has 3 rooms.

Also anyone any idea whether Disney will be showing Pirates of the Caribbean 3 on the boat? It premiers in the US and Europe while we're on there!

Lots of people have been mentioning door signs...I was wondering what everyone is using for them?? Are you making your own graphics or is there something out there already you are using? I am just not knowing much what to do since it is an inaugural cruise, and need some ideas....

We actually used the pics we brought on the boat of Belle, Mickey&Minnie and Snow White&Dopey on there own in magnetic photo frames for our door signs, and made some out of pictures of our dogs as well.

When we did the cruise last year we arrived about 10:30. We are going to try and arrive around 10 this time but if we arrive a few minutes early then what do we do with our luggage? We have a limo taking us so will we have to wait in the car or can you get in the gate but not into the terminal?

Made a mistake - Wilderness Lodge is 6:30 not 7:30:confused3 :confused3

I made a fish extender because I had never made one - DH still thinks we are hanging our shoes in the hallway:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I cut one in half and cut off 3 of the pockets - didn't take much room in my suitcase. Plan to have a trivia game on my door - hope you will all play - prize each day of disney candy globe and personalized candygram.

Sounds fab! I love trivia!

9. What's your favorite live show onboard? On the 14 day EB Repo there was a show done by all the cast members (waiters, engineers, stateroom hosts, etc...) that litteraly brought the house down!!! It was standing room only!!! Kids were sitting on parents laps so that they could seat as many people as they could!!!
[/COLOR]

So Aunty Brat, are you foreseeing the future here and telling us about a new CM Talent Show? :rotfl:

I'm guessing you meant the EB PC Cruise.

We saw it on the 11 night Wonder last September. It was great.

there's a DVC Alaskan cruise?! HMM......I didn't know that!!

Jason and I REALLY want to do an Alaskan Cruise.....we were hoping that DCL would announce one in the next few years once the ship is on the west coast...or once the two new ships in the fleet are in teh water.

:tigger:

Erik

About 10 years ago we took my father in law on the DVC cruise offered in Alaska. We used DVC points and it was on Holland America. It was great. Did the inside passage and all. My FIL never quit talking about that trip for the next couple of years. So glad we took him on it as his health went downhill from there and shortly thereafter he passed on.

....
Hey, you can see the ground in Wyoming!:lmao:

Such great dogs. Was glad to meet them. :dog:

we are a party of 4 and got upgraded to a cat 10...i wonder why they would upgrade the parties of 1 and 2 people to the larger cabins with windows instead of the parties with 3 or 4 people which could use a little more room? i was wondering how IC determined which people got which cabin....i thought maybe they did it based on when we converted to a cat12 GTY....maybe they had a list in order of when we signed up for cat 12 and gave away the better cabins first to those who had been GTY the longest??? :confused3

i am happy with our room (although gydell i am STILL JEALOUS!!!!)...but part of me was wishing for a window......

You can't make sense out of IC, because I have learned there is none.

We have NEVER been upgraded before this cruise and this will be my 11th Disney Cruise.

We booked our Cat 12 GTY in December. We had booked on DVC points, but when the price dropped, I moved the points to the Thanksgiving Cruise 2007 and paid cash for this one.

I don't think there is any method to their madness, as we only got a cat. 11 sideways room, but it looks like there are tons of rooms still available on the website so maybe we can change again!

I don't think they will have TA's jumping on at the last minute with the same kind of deal they did for the 11 night last September. I would think the airfare would be a problem, even though some of the TA's might be able to use FF miles, if they could find a FF seat at this point without using gadzillions of miles for that seat. (Let alone they probably want to fly first class.)

Hopefully, they will upgrade us all again between now and then.

I thought I might call and ask too, but didn't want my reservation "marked" if they have some system to track those "unhappy" free upgrades.

How exactly does this work? (assuming there's availability, which is a big if). We already have dinner, brunch, and tea as we were lucky enough not to have computer problems at the magic 90-day out witching hour. Do you put yourself on a waitlist, or is there a certain point that you can make multiples?

Thanks! Hope everyone's having a great weekend. It's really getting closer now!!! Still no surprise in the mail, but getting our cabins this early was enough of a surprise for this week. :)

 Cupcake

With six days at sea, and the ship being so empty, I would think you are just going to be able to eat at Palo's anytime you would like.

CONVOY TO THE PORT

KEWL !!!!!

Sounds like you'all will be to port before we get off the plane. :sad2:
Still don't have the particulars of our flights yet....will find out monday.
(one way or the other:mad: )

gismo1554 aka sarah,
guess I don't remember meeting your family from the 11 Nights in Paradise.
Should've gotten out more.:lmao:

Oh yeah....I forgot to mention in my last post....did I tell everyone what Jason found out yesterday? Well....to start the story I have to tell you that in addition to dancing and gymnastics and cheering and all that as a kid and teen....I was also a figure skater.....so Jason found out that in January of 2008...."High School Musical on Ice" is coming to Rochester.....you can imagine the unadulterated GLEE I felt at such news. Maybe Hadley and Rio should plan one of their trips through Rochester for that night and we can all go together! :rotfl:

:tigger:
Erik

I can't wait to see Jamie's (DD 15) face when I tell her that now there is going to be HSM on Ice.

She will be hysterical.

She doesn't even like me telling anyone she was in the first movie and gets mad at me. She already warned me that when we get on the Wonder this week, I better not even mention to anyone that she was in it and better not point her out when it is playing on the jumbotron.

I told her I was going to send up a note to the teen's club and let the CM's know, so they can take all the teenagers to the deck to watch. She turned 20 shades of  and said I better not or she will never cruise with me again.
