Hi All, I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem:

We called last week and got the price drop adjustment for our Cat 12 GTY room. Difference, $800 ($400 each). However, the credit that I got back on my credit card was only $336.90!?!?!?:confused3

For the rest of you who also got an adjustment, have you gotten the correct amount or a different amount? I have sent the details to my TA and she is looking into it, but I am confused on how they could have messed this up. For my friends account, she got 3 different credits that added up to this amount.

Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!

Laura

When I said (a few day ago) that I was sending wind across the US I didn't mean what happened in OK. Are all our OK families alright???

We are fine...txaggie94gigem are you all right? Honestly, I don't even know what happened here in Oklahoma, but I'm assuming it is a tornado of some sort. We have lots of them this time of year and storms were brewing big time yesterday. I'll have to watch the news to see.

Scott is still on the road, he made it from Riverton to Casper this morning, but all the roads south out of Casper are still closed. It is beautiful but cold today in Cheyenne. The sun is out, and no wind, yesterday the wind averaged over 30 mph with 50 mph gusts. The highest gust on our wind meter was 53.0 mph. I did not leave the house yesterday. I need to make it up to the dogs today and get out for a good dog walk.

Scott is the planner in our family, I was a planner when I met him, but he is so much more organized than me, that I just let him take over the planning. I am the "where are we going next?" person.

We still have not gotten any surprises from DCL in the mail, but we were always one of the last to get documents, etc. Often our friends in Canada received things before most of us, so I don't think they send everything out the same day.

DizzneyDAnn, Where are you from in Chicago? I moved to Florida 10 years ago from the Arlingtom Hts/ Prospect Hts area.

Got our flight info.. leave barcelona 10 am arrive JFK 12:40pm wooo fast trip
JFK to Orlando 4:20 pm arrive 7:11pm Will go thru customs in JFK... Total flying time 11 hours 30 min... not bad.. but that means the end of the trip:confused3
And we haven't even left yet.... See you guys next week..:cheer2:

Linda, are you the GS cookie lady? If I send you $4 can you haul a box of thin mints to Fl for me?

Also, about more trips before the big trip Jonathan has been away for two weeks and has 3 full weeks of travel remaining before we leave in 4 weeks. It's killing him.:scared1:

Not a problem, I'll bring you a box of THin Mints.

Just because I'm a little unsure about passing along info, and I've already shared so much, how about I tell you exactly where I am on the cruise! I'm not in Arlington Heights, though. Thanks for understanding.:)

Laura,
I just cheked and our refunds posted yesterday. The totals are correct for us. There were four different refund amounts posted for each room (six refund in total! I wonder why they do it this way). $230.40, $441.60, $48.00 and $80.00 TWICE for a total of $1600. Anway, I did notice that they did not all go through very close together. Other stuff was posted in between. Perhaps one of your amounts will show up as posted today?

I can't remember who the other GS person was. But if Linda cannot bring Thin Mints, Marika's troop has a couple boxes of those left (mostly Do SI DOs and All Abouts hanging around this year). She could bring one down for you. They only cost $3.50 out here. Some teens from California bought cookies at one of our booths and told us yours are $4.00. We feel for you (shouldn't you get a better price on cookies to make up for the housing costs?).

Ours are $3.50 also. Each Girl Scout council sets their own price on the cookies. So they range from as low as $3 per box to as high as $4 right now.

If Marika's troop still has leftovers, you are welcome to bring yours. I would just be buying a box from our office stash and then bringing it with me. Doesn't matter, just let me know

Lynn-sorry to have sent the bad weather your way. Heard the interstate is still closed this morning on the news due to high winds.

We still haven't received our surprise from DCL. Guess the Pony Express hasn't made it to Utah or Wyoming yet!

Thanks Linda,

It is very nice of you to offer to let Marika bring them. But, we can always get rid of Thin Mints so I will let you pack them if you don't mind:) I'll already haev several boxes for crew treats.

I did know each council sets its own rates (we have lived/sold in several). In Michigan our council was .50 more than the neighboring one which was such a hassle to explain to customers (we supported an equestrian center and thus needed the extra $$$). When all of the councils merge this will even out somewhat I suppose.

My daughter is 5 and she plays with boys as much as with girls. I don't think they care too much at this age. At least, mine doesn't. We are on the list and Emily has been chatting (with my help) with some of the kids, including 6 year-old Jason. She loves to send messages back to the kids even though some of the things she says doesn't make too much sense! She's doesn't quite get how the whole thing works, or exactly what she should be writing about, but that doesn't matter. It's just nice for her to feel involved in the cruise planning and meet new friends and feel like she is a part of everthing. She is very excited about the cruise. Now if I was better about helping her reply to the messages that would be even better!

My DGS will play with anyone -any age, so the kids club should be fun!

Hey! I am up doing laundry. ugh. Anyway, I wanna know what goes in those binders. It seems like a fly-lady thing, and since my last cruise was so chaotic with all the kids, I NEED to be organized this time.

I am guessing it's a copy of the My Cruise Plans, travel documents, citizenship documents, a slot for the mini Navigator...and my first-born's birth certificate (in case an easy transfer is necessary--you know, when I trade my first born for something valuable, like Palo reservations!)

what else?

Oh, and in the beginning of the thread, several were talking about inventory control and knowing if they could go by April 4. What is inventory control and what did that mean? Also what is a standby cruise ticket? I know what it means with the airlines, but since everything is SO planned SO far in advance here, I don't understand.

I feel really dumb for asking all these annoying questions, but I appreciate anyone who is willing to take the time to answer!

Welcome aboard and ask away. Hopefully one of us can answer the question(s) for you.

Some Disney cruisers who have sailed before have their name on the "infamous" "list" (that which DCL says does not exist) are on a list requesting to be contacted by DCL when any new cruise itineraries are announced so they can be on the ship. Now, if you call DCL, you will get 10 different stories, from 10 different CM's (cast members) about whether this so called "list" exists or not.

It does, in fact, exist, and those that were on the "list" were called prior to 4/4 which was the first date I believe that DCL opened up the calls for taking reservations for the Med. cruises.

Don't know about the "standby" cruise ticket. However, I do know about the GTY (guarantee status). We are booked on a GTY, that means that we are on the ship at least in the category we booked, but DCL did not assign us a stateroom number at the time of booking due to the status of rooms available in the category we booked. Generally, you will receive your stateroom number about 1 month before when you receive your cruise documents in the mail. At that time they assign out your room and if you are lucky, you get a free upgrade! For example, in the Cat 12 staterooms, they will let you book a GTY with four people, but no cat 12 holds over 3 people. So, you will at least be upgraded to a cat 11.

Inventory Control is that department that "controls" everything with the pricing structure and the room releases. They have known to be "evil" at times. (like adjusting the price up by the hour on the first day of booking when we are all on hold waiting to book!)

Okay, I'll bring the box of Thin Mints! Yes, I agree, once all the councils finish their realignment (which won't completely be done until 2008), I think this will help out the problem with neighboring councils who were all selling at different prices and at different times!

hi, i got my $800 credit (one adult/one child) posted within two weeks on my american express..... however, it was a series of (4) different credits -- maybe it will be the same with you? i was told that it could take two billing cycles -- so was delighted that it posted so early!

good luck!

Thanks Linda. I am so impressed that you can handle cookies for an enitre council. I feel overwhelemd with just our troop's. Also, I'm glad you were able to anwers DizzneyDAnn's questions. I was still pondering what standby could be, but I think now you are right and she was thinking of GTY.

I'm short $200 on my refund. I think I will wait until my TA comes back and let her deal with it.

We got upgraded from a 12 to a 10 but the room has a bad report on it due to noise from the nightclub above it. DCL says they will switch it but my TA has to call and as I have been saying she is out of town. Boy did she pick a bad time to be gone!

OMG we are actually assigned a 12...2616...we will DEFINATELY see about upgrading at the port!!

Good afternoon all....as usuall I'm away from the boards for more than 10 minutes and there's more posts than I can possibly keep up with...sigh....:lmao:

Anyhow, let me start by saying THANK YOU....:thanks:.....to all the DisBoarders who literally JUMPED to support Jason and I in the AIDS Walk....we've literally only been up and running to accept pledges for 16 hours (I haven't even had a chance to email my address list with friends and family here at home OR to put up Jason and I's own contribution yet!!) and those of you who have donated have already put us more than 20% towards our goal! You guys rock!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: (anyone else who wants to support us but not sift back through the pages, you can get more info at http://www.firstgiving.com/erikandjason)

Anyhow......now I'm a compulsive planner...but some of y'all have me beat I think!! I'm going to have to work harder maybe!! Powerpoint presentations? Maybe I'll have to create an interpretive dance to describe my planning process!! :lmao:

We are still waiting for our goody in the mail....although our refund (only just over $100) did post toour account so that was nice.

We're really just counting days....35 days for us and counting!!!

:tigger:
