My son will be almost 5 on this cruise. He turns 5 June 20th. I haven't had him post a message on the kids group because it looked like there were no other 4 year old boys. Maybe he can get to know the 5 year old ones, since he is so close.

Taxaggie94gigem,

Thank you for the message about the bracelets. I do not have enough posts to respond to your pm. What a great idea! We would like two adult bracelets. Thank you!! We can't wait for the cruise to get here!!

What is really frightening is I am not the most organized one on this trip. :scared1: I'll have door sings (half made), plans, etc (and be packed any time now!) but I will not have a fat three ring binder full of, well actaully I don't know what all of you more neurotic than I people are putting in those binders anyway.:rotfl:

Robert just had to "upgrade" his last folder to a 21 slot file folder, and spent an hour and a half on the computer labeling it on Tuesday! What is he putting in it? Well, he's basically described and given me the whole power point presentation twice on what the folder is for and what each labeled slot will contain, and I'm STILL not entirely sure! He'll have to show you himself Hadley. And he will be quite PROUD to show off that file folder of organization.

Hey! I am up doing laundry. ugh. Anyway, I wanna know what goes in those binders. It seems like a fly-lady thing, and since my last cruise was so chaotic with all the kids, I NEED to be organized this time.

I am guessing it's a copy of the My Cruise Plans, travel documents, citizenship documents, a slot for the mini Navigator...and my first-born's birth certificate (in case an easy transfer is necessary--you know, when I trade my first born for something valuable, like Palo reservations!)

what else?

Oh, and in the beginning of the thread, several were talking about inventory control and knowing if they could go by April 4. What is inventory control and what did that mean? Also what is a standby cruise ticket? I know what it means with the airlines, but since everything is SO planned SO far in advance here, I don't understand.

I feel really dumb for asking all these annoying questions, but I appreciate anyone who is willing to take the time to answer!

My verizon told me no can do!! It works in Mexico but NOT in Europe...are you sure your's will work in Europe? I thought you needed an entirely different SIM card????:confused3

I used it a couple of years ago. Maybe I will check with my company!

Well....I'm sure it was magnificent nonetheless because, in truth....the flying bit is overrated......it's the SONG that's important there...the flying effect itself isn't all that impressive since it's more of a 'levitation' than a 'flying' (not like the stage version of Peter Pan, for example, where Kathy Rigby is swinging all over the place and flying back and forth).

And, yes, Avenue Q is definitely fun and witty and brilliant (even if very adult oriented and politically liberal....although I'm both of those things so that's probably part of the draw for me!! hehehe:laughing: )

:tigger:
Erik

Gail's daughter here. good to know I didn't miss much! Still my fave part of it!

Oh and I agree Avenue Q is fab

Cell Phones--We have Verizon. David travels frequently for work. The phones work when we go to Mexico to visit my parents, but not when he goes to Europe. They do make a blackberry style phone which his plant keeps one of that he borrows for trips to Europe and that does work there. So, it seems to depend on the actaul phone, not just the provider.

Erik--speaking of work travel, I am so jealous that you can KNOW there are 3 trips for you before the vacation. We just found out yesterday that David will spend most of next week in Plymouth, MI and some tiny town in Indianna. This is a lot of warning for us. 4 entire days to plan!! 1-2 days is common and it is not unheard of for him to call at 9:00ish and ask me to throw together a suitaces and run it to the office so he can catch the noon flight.

Chris--Tell Robert that at least one person who is actually looking forward to his binder presentation. Maybe he'll convert me for future trips. Will you be at the Wine and Cheese pre party?

Linda--Trading the first born for Palo ressies?:rotfl2: I love it! I can't wait to read your trip report after we're all back.

It seems like a fly-lady thing

I know the fly-lady or maybe I should say I know about her. I don't clean my bathrooms everyday! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

And what a good idea about bringing birth certs for those not coming to trade for Palo's! ::yes:: :rotfl2:

Lori

I hate to be a nerd about it, but I woule LOVE to see his power point presentation! I can't wait to have him explain to me all about the binder! I have a very messy folder in my file drawer labeled Travel, and everything just goes in there. My biggest worry now is getting all the stuff I have saved on this computer over to my laptop computer to bring on the ship! I gotta get my son nailed down to help me.....just try to get a 28 year old to help his mom on the computer, he has no patience with me@:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

HMMM I can see it now. An informative presentation on DCL binder prep hosted by Robert in the Buena Vista Theatre:rotfl: I'd actaully attend!

Connie, I sympathize with your needing your son's help on the comupter transfer. Any time I do something like look for a calculator or datebook the kids roll their eyes and tell me how much faster it would be if I just used my phone for all of that like they do.

OK you guys, I will help you....but I'm taking Zoe on a surprise trip to DL right now. When I toured with Jesus Christ Superstar and worked on Full House we were required to have 5inch three ring binders so I literally have about 100 of them for everything. Once you go 3 ring binder you'll never go back! This weekend I'll post all my tabs that are always in chronological order. You'll find that you will look like you know what you are doing at any minute even when you don't. The other real key to the organizer handbook is to make it look like you are winging it without ever missing anything in life!

Chris, I love Robert already! Robert, Erik, me and several of the others on this trip can have a club... of course we'll be the ones who know where to go and when to meet :lmao: :lmao:

Hey, has anyone seen "Sky High"? The movie about the superhero kids? We saw it this week and it was so cute - great family film. I wish they would have renamed it for marketing because it was really fun, but when it came out nobody knew what it was about. I recommend it.

When I said (a few day ago) that I was sending wind across the US I didn't mean what happened in OK. Are all our OK families alright???

Linda, are you the GS cookie lady? If I send you $4 can you haul a box of thin mints to Fl for me?

Also, about more trips before the big trip Jonathan has been away for two weeks and has 3 full weeks of travel remaining before we leave in 4 weeks. It's killing him.:scared1:

We really like Sky High. definately did not get enough attention when it came out. Though it was not overlooked nearly as severly as Brother Bear, Treasure Planet and Atalntis were. Best not get me started on overlooked films that we love.
Have fun with Zoe at the land today.

I can't remember who the other GS person was. But if Linda cannot bring Thin Mints, Marika's troop has a couple boxes of those left (mostly Do SI DOs and All Abouts hanging around this year). She could bring one down for you. They only cost $3.50 out here. Some teens from California bought cookies at one of our booths and told us yours are $4.00. We feel for you (shouldn't you get a better price on cookies to make up for the housing costs?).

Not picking on you, but want to make sure that you and yours all have passports or are ordering them today. It is taking over 4 weeks for expedited passports and you can't use birth certificates on this cruise!!!

As for the Palo's ressies, with as empty as this ship appears it is going to be, getting ressies onboard should not be a problem. Just ask when you board where you can go to make the reservations on embarkation day!!:thumbsup2

Oh, we have all the passports. Funny thing is...I have a binder story! Two days ago we went to get Jonathan's passport. We knew we had Daniel's, because we had taken him to China with us, but Jonathan had only been on the cruises where we used birth certificates.

So, off to the post office we went...WE grabbed our binder with all the certificates, SS cards and passports. When asked to produce the BC, we reached in Jonathan's pocket and found his PASSPORT! The post office guy laughed at us. I felt like one of Gilda Radner"s characters..."Never mind." :rolleyes1

Neither of us remembers getting it or why 2 years ago we would have. None of the others have current ones unless they went on the China trip with us, but that was only last Oct. So weird!

Needless to say we were relieved--no expediting needed!! :thumbsup2

Selling my first born's BC was just a joke, but thanks for your concern! In the words of Sally Fields..."You love me! You really love me!" (oh, that's a joke, too.;) )

My daughter is 5 and she plays with boys as much as with girls. I don't think they care too much at this age. At least, mine doesn't. We are on the list and Emily has been chatting (with my help) with some of the kids, including 6 year-old Jason. She loves to send messages back to the kids even though some of the things she says doesn't make too much sense! She's doesn't quite get how the whole thing works, or exactly what she should be writing about, but that doesn't matter. It's just nice for her to feel involved in the cruise planning and meet new friends and feel like she is a part of everthing. She is very excited about the cruise. Now if I was better about helping her reply to the messages that would be even better!
