Hadley posted a great summary at the same time I was typing. she's right there will be people there in jeans And if you look for Eric (and Jason if Eric forces him) they will have a fancy array of Disney ties on each night.) We will be the slobs at dinner each night, we go out of our way to be casual. No, I'm kidding, but we are almost always in a Tommy Bahama type shirt. Esp. because our job is to eat everything we see on this cruise! Zoe, however, may be in a Cinderella or Snow White costume!

Hey Eric, the new line of Tommy Bahama shirts are out at Nordstroms -gorgeous!!!!

Hope, I'm entirely stumped on the question "a king and a prince - same voice!

I need to know something very important... Does WDW still have Pal Mickey? How much is it and is it worth it?

Also, What are the dates for this year's Mickey Christmas and Mickey Halloween?

Oh yes - pal is alive and well!! There are many versions out now - sorcerer, holiday etc. We have a first gen and he does just fine! The newer ones have more software...but we like our Pal the best. You will get to meet him since he always travels with us. We have many outfits for him and he will be attending dinner quite often pirate:

Good idea! we saved lots of baby clothes for teddy bear outfits. Any idea how much they cost? Do they work on the boat?

We are leaving May 26 from barcelona and planning on flying to Dublin and spending the day and night in Dublin before coming back to Indiana. The cheapest flight leaves Barcelona at 7:00 am do you think we could get off the ship that early and go to the airport? I thought that maybe since we were already in port and if we keep our luggage with us we could make it.

I was wondering the same thing. I saw lots of flights that left earlier in the morning, but since I was not sure, I bumped it back a day so that we leave on the 27th instead. I wonder if DCL CMs know....

I have an 8 year old daughter Kaylee who is a little shy and a six year old son well he will be seven by the cruise. I was wondering if anyone had children around this age that would like to be pen pals and they could meet on the ship. I thought they would like to kinda know some of the other kids that were going to be on the ship. Let me know and I will give you our address!

I had a hard time finding weather for transatlantic, these are from several different sites. Maybe some other web surfer can find some more accurate scientific info. :confused3

My husband and I are thinking about doing a transatlantic cruise on Celebrity next spring. We enjoy the longer cruises and more days at sea, and have done spring transcanal cruises in the past. My question: What kind of weather can we expect on a transatlantic cruise in the spring? We love spending time on deck enjoying the sun and pool, and wonder if the weather would be warm enough to do that on a transatlantic?

The weather can be extremely tricky on the Atlantic. If the ship is taking a more southerly route, the weather is generally warm and enjoyable, with temperatures ranging from 60 to 80 degrees. As long as the sun is shining and the Gulf Stream cooperates, I'd say you're in for an enjoyable and relaxing sea voyage!

Climate and current weather information for Transatlantic cruises: The climate for spring and fall transatlantic sailings is similar. Daytime temperatures range from the 60 to 70°F / (16-21°C), with evening temperatures 10-20's °F/(5-6°C) degrees less. Rain is common in spring and fall which will affect the calmness of the waters. Overall you may experience a variety of weather.

I crossed the Atlantic 5 years ago on a northern route from the NYC area in June. The sea wasn´t rough, but it was a little chilly on deck early in the morning and in the evening (I´m cold-natured anyway) and was too cold to swim in the pool

Just found out my roomies want to use Marriott points to book the hotel :cool1: so, we'll be staying there, too. I'm flying out on the 28th, but they may stay longer. (quotes one: work? what's that?)

So, can we get a list together of who'll staying there?

EUCHRE!!! Someone in your family must be from the midwest. David's family is from Iowa--thus we are Euchre players. Had two kids so we could play whenever we wanted ;) Maybe we can play some on the ship, not many people in New England have heard of Euchre let alone play it.

As far as packing space goes we are not bringing anything game wise that takes up more space than cards. It is easy enough to borrow a game from Diversions when we want to play. But we are fond of playing many types of games and will happily join in with many of you on other games if you have room to tote them.

Hey Hadley....

So does that mean little Rio is already a Euchre card shark? He and I have too much in common! Yes my father's family are MidWesterners...his family is from rural lower Michigan. My father was in the Air Force so we moved around a lot growing up but all 3 of us kids were born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and immediately after I graduated High School my father had retired from the military and my family decided to move back to the U.P. so that is where they call home and have for a long while now....they're very "Yooper" and so Euchre is a staple of life! hehehe:lmao:

Good morning Pat,

You can tell your wife that formal nights runs the gamit from those who ignore it completly (jeans, t-shirts) to those in full black tie. Most people seem to fall somewhere in the middle.

We enjoy dressing up so David will have his tux (I don't know if he is bringing his tails or not) and I will likely have a nice tea length dress which I can also wear to Palo. Though, if I can get back into my "Barbie Dress" (hot pink, floor length satin gown with a small train!) I WILL bring it and wear it. :) My daughter will be in my old homecomming dress (dressy) and I will probably break down and buy a tux for our son as he was so sad when he didn't have one on the last trip (had previously always found them at used stores).

For other nights, we always dress for dinner (change into fresh button down shirts for the boys, dresses for hte girls). Again, it is soemthing we enjoy, but plenty of people will be there in jeans or capris as well.

So, if you like to be foraml GO FOR IT. If you hate it DON"T WORRY you won't be the only non comformists.

OK Hadley...you MUST get into that dress now that you've taunted us all with the visuals! :) I am picturing from your description Marilyn Monroe or Madonna's "Material Girl" video with the strapless hot pink fitted gown with the bow and train in the back....long hot pink opera gloves...lots of diamonds....and a crew of handsome men in tuxedoes hoisting you over their heads and carrying you around....what a spectacular way to enter for dinner one night! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Kelly, good info, sounds like sweatshirt sales will be in order.

If you are partial, like I am to this style of shirts, check out www.rum-reggae.com, these shirts travel very well.

I have an 6 year old that we could do penpals with but there is also a private board that one of the mom's ,disneycrusiing, has put together for the same type of id. The kids are talking with each other on line to learn stuff about each other and the parents can supervise. I know my 13 year old has started to chat with some of them, I was going to get my 6 year old involved with the younger kids there. I believe there are some 8 year olds on there already talking.

PM me and we can exchange e-mail addresses for them to write back and forth to.

Cheers!!

Pat

Our family made the decision that we're coming. I just sent Debbie our information for her web page.

We are - Kurt (me),
Marlea (DW),
Kyan Grace (DD - 3),
Kristopher (DS - will turn 1 in Barcelona).

We live in the DFW metroplex. Marlea is originally from Virginia, and I grew up in Indiana. You can probably tell from my DIS board username that I grew up in Indiana - all you euchre players out there!

Have to run now - I need to go to the store to see if they have the five gallon size of Maalox available to handle the stomach churning of costs and schedule planning.

Good to be here, though!

Kurt

Welcome Aboard Kurt and Crew, don't forget to pick up a grass skirt....

What should the kids be wearing to dinner? Emily is five and has regular, five-year-old clothes! They are cute, but not dressy, very casual. Like jean shorts, some cute above-the-knee skirts, and some capris. Do I need to change her clothes if she is wearing regular shorts one day before dinner? Know what I mean? I've been worrying about what I am going to wear and hadn't really thought about Emily.

I am the most nondressy person out there. Jeans, shorts and capris about make my entire wardrobe, plus my scrubs for work (I'm an RN). I bought the passporter book and it says no jeans for dinner. How about my capris? I prefer those anyway...but one of them is denim! Do I really need to be fretting about this? I think I have one decent outfit for formal night, but beyond that... Well, I'm sure this subject has been brought up time and time again, sorry to rehash it. Just need some reassurance...or a kick in the butt...whichever is appropriate!;)
