Hi everyone, we are THINKING about joining this cruise. How is everyone flying back? What airlines? Could you help me? This is a last minute thought and we don't know where to start looking.

Thank you so much!

Hey JiminyC, we are taking Continental out of Barcelona at 10:20 am on Saturday. We land in Newark, NJ at 2 or so and spending the night in NYC! It is non-stop. We contacted the airlines directly. The trip will be a blast - join us!!!!!:rolleyes1

One thing I forgot to mention. Swissair flies into Boston, Chicago, JFK, Newark and Miami.

Try booking BCN to one of these cities and then booking with JetBlue or similar to your final destination. It worked out about $30 less than booking BCN to MCO directly.

Also redo your search several times over a period of hours or even days. I found that it fluctuated literally minute to minute.

You're a braver man than I Gungadin!!! When I called DCL to see about scheduling our own airfare they were advising people to not schedule a flight before 1030am.

I had multiple calls into higher and higher authorities over this issue. and got many answers. They finally cleared us for Disney transfers and assured us we would be fine. The airport is only 17 miles from the port and we can disembark a 6:45 am. But I agonized for days over whether to stay a night in a hotel.

You guys were busy today :)

I actually booked my Paris-Newak-Cleveland tickets last summer so I could use FF ticket. Paid around $600 for one seat. My mom and I pooled miles, so we split the cost of the other ticket. So it worked out well!

Now the Barcelona to Paris. that was just a few weeks ago :)

Cleveland to Orlando, was about a month ago on Southwest. So this whole trip I am flying on 3 seperate airlines! That will be an adventure.

Going waaayyyy back on the internet question. All Stars does not have free internet, but they do have a pay high speed connection. I used it this past December.

Time is counting down!

Debbie

That is as valid a reason as any other ;)

You live on the east coast - so it should not be too big a deal to shift your dinner a bit at home to match within about an hour of what time you have on the ship. Imagine if you lived in Calif - 3 hours + a shift :upsidedow

We live in California, I don't change my kids schedule on the cruise.

This works great for us!;)

My DH and I are night owls. But our kids are early birds. At home they are up every morning by 6:30 am. On the ship we have late dinner, normal time for us at home. Aftr dinner the kids put on PJ (sweats) and head off to the kids clubs. They love being in there when there are so few kids. Then they will sleep in until about 9 or 10 am.

taxtracker - Are you coming in the day before the cruise and if so where are you staying?

we will arrive MCO Orlando on the 12th at 9:45 am, with disney transfers. i had hoped to come in a day early -- take him to nasa and let him play on the beach. however, instead, he wants to go to school on the 11th and have an after school "bon voyage" party with his classmates (since he will miss his pre-k graduation party with his classmates).

we haven't received the "gift" nor the disney cruise dvd - have you? does your son want to do the "stingray swim"?

i am not sure who is more excited, chrissy or nana!

We are doing the stingrays at 10am. My GS is missing his last 2 weeks of school but they do not have a graduation because his school goes through the 12th grade. When I told my GS that Christopher was going to be on the cruise, he turned stark white. There is a Christopher in his class that is a bully and has directed it towards Brent several times. Once I explained to him that it was not that Christopher but another one that was nice he told his mom not to worry about the Christopher on the ship because he was a nice one. We are getting to Orlando Thusday morning and staying at the Nick Hotel. If you decide to go early then come on over!

Bob,

It seems like if you call the regular number you get 30 days, 30 days, blah blah blah....HOWEVER, the online travel resource says:

Air Transportation

View your flight details within 45 days of your embarkation date by visiting My Online Check-In or by calling Disney Cruise Line® directly at (877) 566-0967†.

I called the number above (which is for your airline stuff) yesterday, gave them my ressie, sat on hold a few and had my airline stuff emailed to me within 10 minutes. My online info STILL doesn't have my airline stuff. I would suggest calling this number and seeing what you get. By the way, my TA called the regular number she uses and got told 30 days too.

Good luck!!

When I called the regular DCL # yesterday they checked, found nothing and gave me the number you cited for the air res desk. Called that number and got the story I posted earlier ("deviation", making change, etc.). CM said she'd email it today, so keeping fingers crossed.

Emailed TA last night and asked her to also followup and not accept the 30 day story.

If I don't get anything today I'll call the back-office CM who finally helped out during the online excursion booking fiasco.

Bob

regarding airfare...i am going to use stand by buddy passes so no one else book Delta because we need the seats!!! :lmao:

so far our chances look pretty good for the 1pm flight but we have to wait and see!

Bob--best of luck on finding out your flight info. today. It would really drive me batty not to know that by this point in the game.

Taxtracker--you are braver than I am. I am so afraid of a flight delay I could never fly down the day of the cruise. Of course, weather should not be a huge threat this time of year. I'm sure you and your grandson will make it to the ship, but I wouldn't sleep between now and the trip with worry if I didn't have at least that one day's cushion.

i am tired of doing all the planning all the time...i just ordered the surprises for the kids and realized my hubby would never do any of this...he shows up and enjoys everything but does not enjoy the planning at all...i am not trying to be down but just once i would like for him to surprise me with a special treat!!! :)

still no DCL surprise in the mail.....:sad2: :sad1:

Sounds exactly like me. It drives my DH nuts too I think :)

I would probably drive you Crazy Michelle. We just wing it! If we want to sleep late, we do. If we want to skip dinner, we do. If one of us wants to go out early and have coffee, the only rule is they have to bring some back for the sleepy heads!

Plus, I have to admit, with Patrick we have to be SO flexible. He needs to nap in the afternoon, and some days he is fine to be up all day and into the night! He Does love to Party! :rockband: party:

Hi Folks...I thought I would post this again to see if someone could help me. :)

I have a question that I was wondering one of you guys could help me with. We are on the August Repo and was wondering about the airfare. We have our air though Disney (which we never have done before). My question is....is anyone flying back to Pittsburgh from Barcelona and got their air though Disney? I was wondering who the flight is though so it can give me some idea of our flight times...ect. My guess is US AIR. Thanks in advance!

Travis

Hi Travis,
Pixie3 would be the one to ask as they are from your area. I know others who got their air through DCL are only just in the last day starting to get flight info. and some have still not be able to get any. You may need to check in again in anotehr week or two.
Happy Planning,

:chat: DCL phoned yesterday while I was gone to MK and asked us to do our online check in, they needed our passport #'s. So I tried, but, halfway through, an error message came up, so I phoned them.

Turns out that we had not booked any DCL transfers, I said of course not. We are leaving the ship on Friday morning and going to the airport by taxi in Barcelona. :goodvibes The website wouln't let me put in a different day. So I just made sure they had our correct passport #'s, which they already did, since we just cruised last October.

BUT she and I talked about how much fun the cruise will be and the special gift we will have in our staterooms when we arrive! :mickeyjum Something special and different from anything they have given before (because it seems like we get lots of gifts because we go on the DVC members cruses). She was quite jealous of all te fun we are planning together!

AND I understand entirely about your problems with PRE TRIP planning! I am the one who goes on the DisBoards and gets all the info, I am the one who likes to get the little gifts for all my friends, I am the one who makes sure we have Pirate costumes and dress up costumes, and lime green shirts and I love to plan get togethers on the ship, too! party:

It's going to be fun fun fun fun fun! (oh, by the way, my mom is here from Ellenton and I have showed her our itinerary and the trip on Google Earth, and she is appalled at how many days we are having on the Atlantic ocean!)

BRACELETS!!!!!!!

Our bracelet team is creating rubber bracelets as gifts for all our DISer cruisers...i have the list of cruisers from Debbie but i need you to PM me and let me know how many adult size or youth size bands you need...

the website lists the youth size as 7 inches and the adult size as 8 inches...

please let me know ASAP!!! we plan to order in about a week....:hippie:

Txaggie94gigem - Wow, you're really an adventurous type flying standby in Europe! My Dh works for jetBlue so we usually fly standby down to mco but for the flight back from bcn we bought tickets. We have 8 people this time as well so that would be a little risky. Good Luck!!

my hubby is the main one that needs to get back but the rest of us can get back whenever...surely we won't get stuck there!!! :wizard:
