WOW movement!! I had almost given up on this thread

So we are at 9ish months left till cruise time...

And we are at 5 family's now?..lol those walt suites are gonna be harder to upgrade to now

Sorry for the lack of posts I seem to be in a intravert rut lately
also I have been camping practically every weekend this summer

Anyone have solid plans for excursions yet?? It is just hubby and me on this one.. kids are old enough to pay for themselves if they wanna come ..lol I saw one that was "dune" buggy and boat ride back that looked pretty cool. They were only 2 seaters so not sure if it is a kid friendly kinda treck.... And anyone know of recommended food places from other cruise lines or reviews they are thinking of trying?

Finally some new posts woooo!!! I don't know about you guys but I am getting very excited about this cruise now I know it's still far away but I am sooo looking forward to finally seeing the Wonder!

I checked yesterday and there is still tons of staterooms left on this cruise! Unless they drop the prices dramatically, I think our sailing will be empty!

Are you guys driving or flying there? As much as I love to fly, I am seriously considering driving there.

We keep tossing it around.. I LOVE the drive thru the moutains and we want to spend extra time out there to visit family I haven't seen in 5 years
but we will see which cost less.. flying/renting or driving/parking

Sorry folks for the lack of commitment on here. Now that I am caught up on the posts. Timon, surprisingly I didn't get any pics up online from my recent double-dip, but it was tons of fun of course!

My wife and I just returned from Disneyland and a friends wedding in Los Angeles, both were awesome! We renewed our season pass (one of them) and drove back home to the San Francisco Bay Area.

We are really considering driving to Vancouver for the cruise! There will be lots to see on the way there and we don't have to worry about how much to pack and get charged for it! We never have been up to Oregon and Washington, much less Vancouver, so we're looking forward to it!

I'm going to have to check to see if our room has been priced dropped, we booked through DVC. Can't wait for February, when the excursions are open for booking.

They have a cruise option, it says it is only available for 2010, but I booked it for the night before the cruise in 2011.

I live in Calgary AB which is a 11 hour drive from Vancouver but we are still thinking of flying just because the parking can be very pricey

But I did look into alot of different hotels in the area (type in Hotels near Vancouver port) that will offer a cruise deal and if you schedual one a free shuttle service to the port There are better prices than the $186 out there but not many.. "apparently" being right by the port is the creme de la creme..lol

We were thinking of going a few days before the cruise and seeing the sites of Vancouver (been there many times before and just love the sights) Always love Stanley Park and want to explore Granville Island (College trendy shops/cafe's etc) I do have family on Vancouver Island but it is too far away to stay with them.. plus the ferry isn't always on time

I have been looking into the ports to see what we can do there and seeing as we are on kinda a budget there are some very cool choices I have found. The most expensive thing we will be doing is the White pass trail with the railroad (Skagway) the only other one we might fork over the cash for is a whale sightseeing/ Mendehall glacier (Juneau) I want to see the towns and eat some of the local caught fish ( I know meals are free on the ship.. but but but FRESH!!!!! fish how can I say no??) I am hoping to have a new camera and take some very fantastic pictures to show friends and family our adventure

Our saddest news is our Table mates have chosen to cancel their trip with us so we will be a table for 2 but thats ok My husband and I can talk ourselves deaf I find it kinda weird with our lives, all of our friends are entering the family stage and we are just exiting that phase (early starter ) we are entering our "Golden years" before 40 lol and we can finally afford trips and the like.. so we have determined.. ok I have determined that every 2 years we go somewhere spiffy

I hope we all have a blast and the ship is truely not that empty when we go... If the cruise doesn't do well this year do you think they will cancel anymore to Alaska?? if so this might be the one and only year to see it with Disney?? So many questions.. oh and what is pirate night gonna be replaced with???

We are driving too... from Northern Alberta. We'll split it into 2 days, and arrive in Vancouver on Sunday, so we'll have a bit of time to explore (read: shop) We usually fly to CA to DLR, so we decided if we chose a more $$$ holiday we'd need to drive.

I am worried about the ship being too empty. So far it really looks like the kids clubs could be almost empty. My kids would actually probably prefer it that way, but having SOME kids in the clubs would be fun! But with school still being in session, and this not really being a 'kids' destination, you never know.

I can't wait to hear about Pirate night and some other more specialized Alaska themed activities. And I haven't even dared look into many excursions, because I know the train (which would be so lovely) is out of the question for my kids. They'd have their i-pods out in 5 seconds flat and miss the whole adventure.

I kind of agree with you. My wife and I are not exactly socialites, but enjoy a good conversation. I wouldn't mind eating a Palo's every night, although I would be a blimp.

I'm not 100% if we are driving at this point, but it is definitely looking that way. We plan to stop in Seattle and check it out overnight before heading over the border to Vancouver. We're leaving from the San Francisco area, so it will be a good 17 hour drive if we went non-stop.

Driving the coastline down to San Fran was actually going to be our honeymoon trip but we fell short of funds and time..lol We have been to San Fran tho but only a day trip from Sacramento.. it was AWESOME! we want to go back again and really get a chance to explore the city... a day is NOT enough

I guess what I am really looking forward to on this trip is sitting with a nice cup of hot coffee and watching the coastline slide by... mmmm paradise.. Both my husband and I are not hot place lovers so when this trip came up we were all over it like syrup on a pancake but it seems all the trips other than this one are in the heat (I love the air conditioning inventor!!) We manage tho..lol

Alaska has definitely been on our bucket list. I have a good feeling we will be up there again. We love nature and try to make it each year to a different location in the world that involves nature, wilderness, culture. Looking forward to this trip hands down.

Yeah my husband and I like to wing it and take the slow route to really see a place.. I hate rushing and trying to remember what I just saw..lol There are a bunch of places I would love to go.. hoping we get to see them all in time

But Alaska is sooooo pretty.. I am hoping to see all the wildlife I can (at a safe distance..lol) and breath in the fresh ocean air

Are you guys making any ressies for Palo.. we loved the dinner we had (GET the chocolate souffle!!) but want to try the brunch this time.
