Wow, just noticed the East bound cruisers are over 1000 posts ahead of us!!

Must be a real talkative bunch!!

:surfweb:

They have Justmestace - aka one of the blabbermouths, Verandah Man - very active on the boards, and that scoundrel Captain Jack. We will have a hard time keeping up with that bunch! Oh, and how could I forget our green leader, Lisa, who also has been known to post a time or two.

I think they are expecting to call the waitlisted people prior to 1/31. The phone lines are supposed to open at 8 am on 1/31 and I cannot imagine that they would tell people that they cannot book when they call.

I am just hoping for a cabin on this cruise. So, do you think there will be more empty nesters, homeschoolers and singles on this cruise?

Any thoughts??

:surfweb:

There were very few children on the westbound in 2005. The adults got to take over the lab one evening because there were so few children. It will probably be the same this time.

DHand I are empty nesters. If there are more empty nesters and singles on this cruise do you think it will harder to get ressies for Palo? It would be interesting to know what the popualtion demographics was on the last repos.

Maybe they are all just more optimistic about getting on the ship. Maybe we are a little more conservative.

More nights to get ressies too. Sigh, but you are probably right. Maybe we can get enough together to do a private room at Palo's dinner.

Oooh, good idea. Can we make reservations for more people than are registered in our room?

Palo private room is minimum of 12 max of 14, no other size will be taken. I believe that requests for larger parties can be submitted 30 days prior to sailing. I would also suspect that there will be special guests on the cruise, that might get first shot. Resevations on-line for Palo are limited to the number of persons registered in your stateroom.

Even TA's are assuming 500pp deposit right now.

I have seen on other posts that you can make reservations for 12 or more, I think 30 days in advance, space available. If we get a cabin, I will check with TA about doing the private room.

Birkner, I did it for the last cruise. I still have all the info... I suggest as soon as we know we will be on the cruise, we send in a request. I did not have to submit the ressie numbers until 30 days out....

Kim

Kim, even in my head the chance of getting on the boat, is shrinking. With all the posts about the many IC requests, I now have it in my head that this cruise is a maybe.

Pj

Did anyone find out the deposit amount yet or are we still assuming 500 pp?

$500 pp for the first 2, supposedly 3rd and 4ths are going to be less, but I don't know how much less. I earmarked $1500 for us. My poor mother is getting stuck with the bulk of the deposits.

Sounds like a plan! How do we do it? Do you have to fax immediately??

PJ, I think Birkner is right. We see an awful lot of activity on this board but the ship can hold a lot of people. Even for the last cruise, I got our cat 3 midship on a whim only 6 months out. I feel the same chance shrinking problem, but then, my more logical self takes over and we are all going to get on this ship. It may not be our favorite choice since I had no idea we were going to do another Disney cruise until after the last one.... And who can forget that one!

I have a feeling we are all whipping ourselves into a frenzy with worry, when in reality, there are enough rooms for all of us who are booking on Day 1 and really, there is nothing more we can do.

With all of us crossing fingers and other body parts for you, how can you think you won't get a cabin?

Birkner,

I faxed mine about 4 months out and got the brunch we wanted no problem. As for this cruise, it might be a good idea for us to start faxing the days we want earlier. Think they would take them on Feb 1st? Each one of us could send in one for different dinners/brunches? I don't know how early they accept them, but they do not review the requests until 30 days out.

Ohhh I forgot to say how to do it. I got a concierge number and e-mail address and they told me to fax my request. I wonder if it works no matter what cat. you have?

If you PM the number, I will be happy to fax for either a brunch or a dinner when we decide which day or days we agree upon.
